finally saw I Robot last nite ..

despite the critics liking it,,, i didnt .. spend all of my time with my eyes rolling .. extremely bad - forced dialogue.
Lame jokes set up horrobly to do nothing more than to provide Will with a little comedy bit.
As much as i like the guy, i'm getting sick of Will Smith ...
Even when he's trying to play a darker roll - he's the same old Will Smith.

The effects were good ... but that just isnt enough anymore...

one funny line in the whole movie ....

"are you saying cats did that to you ?"

I hate most of his movies because he seems to insist upon being typecast as the "how cool am I?" guy...any spouts any chessy-ass joke to try make himself look funny.
The only movies I've really LIKED of his would be Badboys 1&2.

i think he's shooting for more 'boyish golly gee charm' than 'how cool am i' ... he isnt as slick .... he, or the director, seems to want to make him be the kind of guy every mother would love.

he's horribly typcast now .. there's no escape ... Ali would have done it for him had it been more critically acclaimed.

He was more of a risktaker in 6 degrees of separation ...

i thought his shtick suited ID - but there were a lot of other main actors balancing the film - so it wasnt just the Will Smith show..

This is another Asian horror, correct?

I haven't been having much luck on these purchased on e-bay......the first one I had to hack my DVD player and the other one [ Ab-Normal Beauty, from the Pang bros. who did The Eye ] plays ok, but I can't get the subtitles on screen....it plays on my computer ok.

from the case of my 2 disc SE :D

"following the death of their mother, sisters su-mi and su-yeon are sent to convalesce in a mental hospital. when they are released, they are greeted by their father and taken home. once there, it becomes obvious that this isn't the wholesome family unit that the girls' new step mother wishes it was.

on their first night home disturbing and seemingly unexplainable events - footsteps on the stairs, doors opening of their own accord - begin to occur, and strange hallucinations plague the family. it soon becomes impossible to tell whether it's the sisters' unstable mental health, the cruel mind games played by the step mother, or the dark presence of a supernatural force which is at work within the house"

edit: a korean film

Squirm! series, where, no kidding, a woman eats her own and others' shit... FOR REAL!

And other stuff, like insects and frogs.

Reminded me of the brief furore over "squish" films: apparently specialist pornography geared around ladies in high-heels trampling on beetles and small animals - UK Customs have seized some of these but I've never seen one.

Sick world, kids.

The last horror movie I watched was Ginger Snaps for like the fourth time. My fiance had never seen it and all of a sudden it disappeared from every video store in a 20 mile radius (Very weird!) so I had to buy it off eBay. We just watched it the other night.

I realised the coincidence in the titles of the last two movies I watched AFTER Id seen them both...

First off, I finally rented Session 9. I didnt think it was possible for Americans to make a good, original, and even somewhat scary horror movie anymore. I was wrong. Damn this was a great movie....it would be a major spoiler if I described it, but the shot of Gordon at the end was great. Plus the last line, best closing line Ive ever heared [Dont worry, this wont spoil anything} : "I Live in the weak and the wounded...Doc". Did that line not leave anyone else wideeyed and openmouthed until you realised that you had been watching the credits for 5 minutes?

Anyway, I just finished watching Plan 9 from Outer Space. Cant exactly shower it with praise like it did Session 9...but I enjoyed it. Very laughable, but I guess thats why I wanted to see it anyway:p

The movie started out fine, It just got worse as the movie goes on.

The ending made me wished I didn't watch it at all.

saw Shutter last night ..

ok ... i'm getting pushed over the edge .. this was a Thai film .. not Japanese, not Korean ..

whats with the all the wet ghost girls ?!!!
as usual another mystery to solve ..

it was a well done film .. and if i hadnt seen Ringu, the Eye, Dark Water, Phone , etc etc etc first - i probably would have enjoyed this a lot more.

it still had some neat little origional twists but ... wow whats with the wet dead girls ... whats with long wet black hair ?

I was thinking there must be some kind of cultural significance .. but now i dont know.

I havnt posted on this in awhile...heres what I watched the past few days, in order:

Guns of Diablo- Decent western, but nothing special. Kinda cool seeing Kurt Russel as a kid tho

The Shooting- For the most part, this was a pretty run of the mill western. Jack Nicholson was great as always. But the thing that blew me away was the ending. Sure, it was pretty obvious how the movie would end...but they way they did it. Damn, great ending.

Spencer: A Savage Place- Ive never read any of Robert Parker's Spencer novels...but I might have to start. This is the second Spencer movie Ive seen, and it was pretty good! Urich is great

Shaft [2000]- Ive never seen the original ones, but I really enjoyed this version. Samuel L. Jackson was great...only thing I didnt like was I couldt understand a damn thing Peoples said:p

Evil Dead- Shamefully, this is the 1st time Id seen this. But it was worth the wait! Great movie, loved it. Gore was pretty cheesy in some part, not that Im complaining:D

"Resident Evil:Apocalypse" - VAST improvement over the first film and it played pretty faithful to the spirit computer games (Nemesis was perfect!).
Lots of action, lots of zombies some unexpectedly staged deaths...good stuff. And in fact watched right after #1, it improves that film a great deal.
Good, high tech, slam bang entertainment..nothing more nothing less, why the moans? At least it didn't feel the need to call itself "Dawn of the Dead"!

"GI Samurai" - the full original version of "Time Slip". Top notch Japanese action/sci-fi/fantasy.

"Incident at Loch Ness".
A mockumentry about Werner Herzog's attempt to dispell the Loch Ness Monster myth.
Pretty good movie, its no "Spinal Tap" but it has its moments.

i love the speach by Adam Sandler in Billy Madison ... where he tries to come up with this big theory and it sounds like it went well .. but at the end the teacher tells him not only was it bad .. but everyone in the room was dumber for having heard it ... :D

Battlefield Earth- this is the most God awful piece of trash I've seen in awhile but for some reason I kinda maybe sorta liked it a little, I guess it's one of those ''it's so bad you have to like it'' sorta things.

definately heading into 'so bad its funny' territory

I loved how the feeble minded clansmen were flying the spaceships like seasoned fighter pilots after a couple of minutes of looking at the controls :)

that's the part that just killed me, considering how far into the future they were all of them were born and raised primatively and they spend a few minutes reading books and looking at the planes and they're Maverick and Iceman all of a sudden.
