The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari
I bought this last weekend, but I was away this week and couldnt watch it. I just got back, and 1st thing I did was grab a coke, and plop onto the couch to watch Caligari, my 1st horror movie in over a week. And it was incredible. The sets were beyond eerie, and that ending just messed w/ my head. Amazing movie

Most people I know said the movie was horrible.
I think it could have been awesome. The problem was those guys don't know how to make a movie. All premise and no reward.

Last winter, I saw a fun little action flick with Samuel L. Jackson called Shaft. I didnt rent it expecting great preformances from anyone in the cast, and overall I was right, with the obvious exception of Jackson. I noticed a name that I recognized in the credits however: Christian Bale. Never having seen any of his films, I was confused as to why there was so much praise for him; at the time, to me he was just a run-of-the-mill actor. A few months later, I was attracted to The Machinist, mostly beacause of the director. After seeing that, my impression of Ble raised greatly, as he was incredible. Not long after, I saw Batman Begins, which put Bale firmly into my books as one of the greatest actors living.
Now, I just finished watching American Psycho. And it blew me away. Bale is doubtlessly one of the greaest actors of all time, and I will make a pint to see more of his films.

Hello, everyone.
I didn't watch a horror movie last. In fact, it was Hunt for Red October. Predator, I think, is John McTiernan's best.
Before that, I saw Philip Kaufman's Invasion of the Body Snatchers for the first time. It was brilliant. Impressive from the story down to the characters.
It's a pity that nowadays, films of this caliber are rarely ever made anymore.

What did you think of the atmosphere of the film?
You have this innocent, darling little kid staring at an enormous bomb stuck halfway into the ground in the middle of the school's quad. Plenty of shadows, just enough of the spectre to keep you rattled.
Then there's the millieu. Franco's Spain. Treachery is everywhere, no stability. Everybody's got an angle. Murder is everywhere. So amidst the survival, our little main character's been chosen by spooky-boy to set things right. Nice world, eh?

The Howling is a top wolf movie, especially the scenes in the woods during the day - something unnatural and very scary about a savage monster on the prowl in broad daylight.

It sucked! Sure, the first hour was pretty good. But then the rest of it went all downhill. Oh, and since when was Alexander gay? You'll know wat I mean if/once you watch the flick (though you really shouldn't waste a perfectly good 3 hours over this IMO. But be my guest.)

It was never confirmed but his parents suspected he was gay because he was always with his friend(can't think of his name) and never with women so they got him hooker after hooker and even though he had sex with them it pissed him off quite a bit. Nobody knows for sure but they(historians parents, friends ect.) highly suspected and had credible reason that he was.

ANSWERING MACHINE
(synthesized voice)
She didn't call.
Mike collapses into his futon and lights a smoke.
Beat.
He pulls out the COCKTAIL NAPKIN. He stares at the number.
He looks at the clock. 2:20 AM.
He looks at the napkin.
He thinks better of it, and puts the napkin away.
Beat.
He takes out the napkin and picks up the phone.
ANSWERING MACHINE
(synthesized voice)
Don't do it, Mike.
MIKE
Shut up.
He dials.
It rings twice, then...

Hi, Nikki. This is Mike. I met you

met and you should give me a call. So

Beat.
He dials again.
NIKKI

MIKE
Hi, Nikki. This is Mike, again. I just
called because it sounded like your
machine might've cut me off before I gave
you my number, and also to say sorry for
calling so late, but you were still there
when I left the Dresden, so I knew I'd
get your machine. Anyway, my number

MIKE
213-555-4679. That's all. I just wanted
to leave my number. I don't want you to
think I'm weird, or desperate or
something...
(he regrets saying it
immediately)
... I mean, you know, we should just
hang out. That's it. No expectations.
Just, you know, hang out. Bye.
(beep)
He hangs up.
Beat.
He dials.
NIKKI
(recorded)
Hi. This is Nikki. Leaves a message.
(beep)
MIKE
I just got out of a six-year
relationship. Okay? That should help to
explain why I'm acting so weird. It's
not you. It's me. I just wanted to say
that. Sorry.
(pause)
This is Mike.
(beep)
He dials again. There's no turning back.
NIKKI
(recorded)
Hi. This is Nikki. Leave a message.
(beep)
MIKE
Hi, Nikki. This is Mike again. Could you
just call me when you get in? I'll be up

you in person instead of trying to
squeeze it all...

He dials yet again.

MIKE
Hi, Nikki. Mike. I don't think this is
working out. I think you're great, but
maybe we should just take some time off
from each other. It's not you, really.
It's me. It's only been six months...
NIKKI
(Live, in person. she picks
up the line)
Mike?
MIKE
Nikki! Great! Did you just walk in, or
were you listening all along?
NIKKI
(calmly)
Don't call me ever again.
MIKE
Wow, I guess you were home...
(click)
She hung up on him.
He's frozen.
He hangs up.
Beat.

oh gosh... where to start ? obvious casting errors ( jolie as farrell's mom... now there's an idea ), the horrible accents ( some sound irish, others scottish, jolie sounded like a transylvanian whore ), the jumping back in forth in the timeline which made it somewhat hard to follow, the clichéd peptalks to the troops before a battle... but you really should see it, just so i can get your opinion :)
i love angelina, but not even her nekkid could've saved this one for me :p
did enjoy her in mr. and mrs. smith though. don't know why it got trashed so much. i found it fun.

Anyway, the last movie I seen was The Bogus Witch Project. It sucked all kinds of ass. I'm giving it a half star out of 5. A few laughs here and there and Pauly Shore (who saved the flick) were the two reasons I didn't bomb the flick.

I didn't like the script, I never understand how they mess up these movies the entire story is sitting there you only have to add a couple ounces of creativity. They know what he did, where he went, who his friends were, the battles he fought ect. ect. all you have to do is look at a history book yet they still screwed it up. It was never confirmed that he was gay yet there's a scene where he says "I've fallen in love with men"(or something close to that). All they had to do was stick to history and it would've been ok but no they had to add and take stuff away to make it better and all they ended up doing was screw it up.

Well the ending was a bunch of computer animated horse shit. The effects used on the chick looked like the same ones used in Spiderman.

Not a movie, but I've been making my way through the first season of "smallville" on dvd, I just bought season 1 & 2.
Good show, decent soundtrack, nice effects...and interesting villains, even if it IS just "kryptonite freak of the week" time and again. This is probably the best thing in tv/movies that they've done on the whole superman mythology.

A Roger Corman stinker from the 60's, the tedious Sci-Fi slop called "THE LAST WOMAN ON EARTH"
After a long build-up of nothingness the Earth loses it's oxygen for a while and everyone suffocates except 3 boring people (2 men and 1 woman, hence the title) who were scuba diving at the time.
ONE good scene of a child's body, lying like she's asleep with her arm over her face, on the roadside which is rather creepy, otherwise it's one long arguement about the obvious moral and social problems the situation raises and a dull lust triangle sub-plot for the remaining 50 minutes or so.
Written by future "Chinatown" scribe Robert Towne of all people.
*SNOOZE*.

Great film. I read the book a few months ago, and I was pleasantly surprised at how faithful to it this was. Perfectly cast, too.

Great movie! A little hard to watch at times though, it can be brutally honest. Poor kid...lol.

I had already seen it once. And yeah, I liked it far better than the first one though I enjoyed it quite a bit as well. The Green Goblin suit in the first one bugged the hell out of me though. Completely took me out of the movie at times...lol.

Just got back from "Devil's Rejects".
What can i say...it was brutal, pointless and made me want to come home and take a shower. In other words....it was my kind of movie.
Most definitely paid homage to 70's movies.

The Eye 2
I thought it was very good, but I think they shouldn't have called it that since the first one was to do with eyes....and this one has nothing in common with it except the ghosts. I guess the filmmakers knew it would get seen if they piggybacked. Anyway, excellent acting and very creepy. I can't say much without giving things away, but some of the scenes are pretty bizarre.

I just got back from that one. I did kind of like the ending, but overall I just wasn't impressed. It pretty much hit on every single cliche of a movie of this kind. And now I remember why I don't go to movies anymore. One girl got up a total of 15 times (yes, I counted) and stepped on my feet three times. Almost fell in my lap once. The whole audience except me screamed, yes screamed at every single "start". And then there was the guy that stood by my chair saying "please, please, please" over and over again. I am still not sure who he was talking to exactly or what exactly he was begging for. But I was getting to the point that I was willing to do just about anything to just shut him the fuck up. Well, mainly I was willing to give him a swift kick to the head. I bet that would have worked.
Sorry about the rant....:D

Okay, thank you. What a waste.
Anyway, finally watched Romper Stomper. At first I thought I wasn't going to like it because it focused so much on the violence and so little on the characters. But that changed a little into it and I was impressed by Crowe's performance. It is a good film, very dark and more than a little depressing. These guys would have been really dangerous had they a brain to share between them. :D

Well, no I always expect him to be good, I am a fan of his. But for some reason, I was a little surprised, I think because it didn't hit me how good the movie itself was at first. Like I said, I wasn't really taken in by the first few minutes....it had to grow on me.

The Life and Death of Peter Sellers.
Extremely depressing film - well acted .. just a downer.
I with there was more concentration on the films he made but fair enough - it was about him - not his films.
Unfortunately - a film about Peter Sellers the man, isnt a very nice story.
