it was alright. dragged on for too long, Deniro didnt have big enough of a part, and it made absolutely NO sense. porbably wasnt supposed to. As a movie that made no sense, I'd say Naked Lunch was better.

I never get tired of seeing this film. Clint Eastwood at his best.
Mario Van Peebles: "You know what's 12 in. long and white? NOTHING!"
Clint: "I'll tell you what's black and bleeding if it don't shut its face."

I think there were parts of the movie that came together to express certain things. I loved the vision of the future, instead of everything being perfect and clean there's still all sorts of problems and the government... heh, the a/c stuff was priceless. The dream sequences are the only things that really don't fit into the "story" I think... but hey you could even look at it as just a love story. :)
I love the ambiguity and dream-like state of the film with the amazing visiuals and odd story. Like I said, watch it a couple more times (I know it's long but when you're bored and don't know what to watch heh) and see if it's any better.

Yeah, pretty good, I have to watch it again though because the first time I was dissapointed. I think I was expecting a movie based on the book, but Rashomon seemed more akin to the novel while Naked Lunch was just a trip heh.

I remember posting the trailer of this movie about 8-9 months back in the Trailer Discussion thread, and I thought the movie had looked promising a lot...and I was right.
How so!
A great movie if I ever saw in recent times. Del Toro's finest work yet. Its worth the 3 Academy Awards it got for Art Direction, Cinematography and Make-up. I am adding its DVD to my shelf as soon as I can. Highly recommended for anyone looking to spend 2 hours of total entertainment.

Boo (1932)
Kind of nifty little short film that came as a Special Feature on the Frankenstein Legacy Collection DVD. All it is are clips from Frankenstein, Nosferatu and a lost film called The Cat Creeps edited together into a semi coherant story. Its only 10 minutes long and the jokes are really corny, but it was fairly entertaining.

Here's an excerpt about the box for Vol 1
Comes with making of featurettes, TV spots, movie trailers and more. In addition, this version also offers a special "Okinawa" T-shirt , an unique "Hattori Hanzo" sword 1/10 scaled figure , a luxurious 24-page all-color booklet plus more! As the supply of this item is very limited, shop it right away to avoid future regrets!
What they fail to mention is that in addition to the cool swag, you're also getting the unaltered Japanese print. See, the MPAA in their wisdom have linked violence ratings directly to the amount of red blood in the film, and yes, they are quite specific that the blood must be red to count. This is why alien blood (and the blood in the Evil Dead films) is pretty well always black or green - it's an attempt to do an end run around the censors. Kill Bill is such a bloody film that it wouldn't have qualified for an R rating unless Tarantino did something about all that red, so rather than cut, he decolourized certain scenes. No such problem in Japan, so if you want to see it the way it was filmed, this is the way to go.

I wasn't as impressed as I wanted to be. It wasn't that memorable or anything at all, it was extremely repetitive, and I thought the acting was horrible. The only thing that was amazing was the visuals, especially the millions of arrows. The fighting was gory enough, but repetitive. Nothing new ever happened.... HOLY CRAP! That is one of the best living dead movies I have EVER seen! It's hilarious!!!!! that was about 50 times more funny that evil dead 2 even! It's so random! It's perfect! The perfect party movie! The best part is the radio:

Funny thing is, the tar man thing scared me =X I dunno why lol, I thought he was freaky. this movie is going to be shown on halloween if I have a party, perfect. I love the talking girl they tie down. "Brains! braiiiinnns hahahaha!"

True. Alien is the only TRUE Alien film, but they're all worth viewing at least once, if not owning for the sake of having all 4. Resurrection is the most *fun* of them all, but only because it's an action film with aliens...

Just decent. Could have been a cult hit if a few things were tighter. The direction and cinematography was average. Some nice shots here and there, but nothing special. The script could have been 100% better had they done another 2 or 3 drafts before filming. It had the bones to be amazing - just needed a little flesh here and there. The clown was terrifying, and the one liners were aplenty. The story was okay, but as I said... the script could have used a rework. The birthday scene near the end was perfect, IMO, and the strongest part. The weakest would have been the CGI effects, which were rather crude.

Return of the Living Dead 4: Necropolis
The acting was okay, but that was about where the goodness in this one stops. The gore was almost all the same scene reshot with different actors. The story made little to no sense and it was like there were large chunks of the plot just ommited (probably on the cutting room floor). There were a few points that I actually felt like I was watching House of the Dead because it just got so lame. A 3 on 3, humans vs. zombies fistfight? Come on! That's just dumb!
Save your time & money and skip this one.

This was better than I expected. Pretty creative ghost story with good acting & Bruce Campbell. Not much gore though. ALl in all, it's a pretty enjoyable ghost flick.

Well, I must say... This was considerably better than I imagined. I was expecting some cheesy slasher film but it was pretty well done. The play to the psychological creepiness more than gore, but it was enjoyable for the most part. I wouldn't run around recommedning it to anyone and everyone, but it was better than what I thought it'd be.

glad you liked it! i think, from memory, that the baddie was a left over child that survived in the maternity hospital but was totally deranged and liked to mimic the surgeons who had long since left. but lets not dwell on that, the important thing is that he was a sick evil little shit who liked taking out the trash in a surgical way. also, i always take a little patriotic pride when the previously flagging british movie industry makes something relatively decent in the genre i prefer.

Well, I haven't seen Kario, so I basically went into this expecting something along the lines of The Ring or The Grudge. I was pleased to find that this movie was a hell of a lot more entertaining than either of those pieces of shit! Now, as a general rule of thumb ghosts movies don't do it for me. Never have and probably never will. And if it's a 'ghost in the technology' kinda movie, it's got even less of a chance, but like I said, I was pleasently surprised to find this movie pulled off the whole computer ghost thing better than pretty much any other, with the possible exception of Poltergeist. I didn't find it scary and it wasn't gory, but for some reason I found it fairly entertaining nonetheless. Maybe it was because I thought the soul sucking scenes were pretty cool. Good acting, good direction, interesting story that got a bit outlandish towards the end, not much gore at all...
Decent, but nothing spectacular.

Just finished watching The Nun (2006).
Overall was half way decent. Though that isn't saying much considering I am sick and really nothing else interested me on Video on Demand. Basic plot, the spirit of a twisted nun comes back to kill her former bordering school pupils. It did have a nice twist at the end, one I didn't honestly expect. I say if you can watch it for free like I did, do so. Don't pay for it.

Easily one of the greatest films ever made. Advanced, daring, provocative, shocking...the film hold's its terrifying own today, and only improves with age and viewings.

Poltergeist 3
Man, did this franchise hit the shitter in a hurry. The original was good, the sequel was bad and this third installment was downright awful! The plot was illogical, the script was bad, the acting sucked and there wasn't any gore. Talk about a stinker! But I guess I should have expected that since even Craig T. Nelson (Coach) wanted nothing to do with it. Don't waste your time on this one (or Poltergeist 2 for that matter.)

http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k115/RoderickUsher_2006/nobladeofgrass1970_15110n.jpg
End-of-the-world global famine movie from England. It drags in the middle, but the opening and fianle are great. A true lost classic, this one isn't available on DVD or VHS - but I had someone burn me a DVD from a film library.
It pre-dated and was a huge influence on Soylent Green and the second half of the film is pure Road Warrior.

Saw 3
Much better then the second and a surprisngly good movie. The acting was far less painful then the prequels and it just seemed stronger then Saw 2. Also it helped answer a lot of questions that made Saw a lot more believable.
