Monster Man= picked it up thinking it would be a comedy/gore horror movie and that it was. Some funny jokes here and there and lot of gore... Not the most original plot.... I did like the ending as it was influenced by some very good horror movies. I give it a 7.5/10 simply because it kept me entertained enough in the 1 hour and half.

We must have got it from the same bin...I just watched it the other night and thought it was OK. I'am a sucker for the low budget/B Horror though. The sidekick was a riot.

"Team America" - Unrated. Very funny for the most part (the extended sex scene is a bad taste GEM!) but it's overly padded and thus too long. Losing a good 10/15 minutes would have helped it a great deal. Some wonderful jokes and politically incorrect splashings though.

Dakota Fanning is annoying as hell, Tom Cruise does his usual "Get down!" sort of bullshit, and the ending is a little... meh. I read the book so I knew the ending (roughly). But still, it was an action flick and it just halted... I was all "Oh man!" and my friend was like "I know!"

I agree the ending could have been a little better, but it wasn't terrible. The rest of the movie more than made up for it...for me anyway :)

Bad horror. The humor is unintentional in those. Wait until you see part 3. It has basically an identical plot to Part 2.

Yeah, I feel for ya. Those movies suck...

Scarecrow Gone Wild

I watched Scarecrow Gone Wild today. Wow, those Scarecrow movies just keep spiraling downhill. (And it's not even like the first one was very good to begin with!) No plot, bad acting, a really low budget, and minimal gore make this movie really not worthwhile. Ken Shamrock (From Ultimate Fighting) gets top billing and that's pathetic because I think this is his first movie and he can't act for shit either. Overall, really bad, but not in an entertaining or enjoyable way. D-

Fear Dot Com

Well the first thing you notice is that it's a blatant Ring ripoff. And much like The Ring, it started out with some potential before heading into a completely nonsensical plot and going for some cheap scares. The second thing I noticed was that this movie would have worked better as 2 seperate movies. 1 part ghost story, 1 part twisted serial killer story. I got the feeling they just kinda threw them together with very little concern for how it would make the overall plot horrible. I wasn't impressed whatsoever. D

I don't think you should be ashamed of that at all. Will Ferrell is hilarious! And he's already proven (to me at least) that he can make a PG (Elf) movie that is just as funny as most R rated movies.

I haven't seen Kicking and Screaming yet but I'm sure I will. (Bewtiched too, but I'm not real excited for that one. I heard it wasn't very good.)

It has Robert Duvall and Mike Ditka in it as well. There are some pretty funny scenes. I think he is carving out a good niche for himself in these types of films. I like him a lot more then Jim Carey, (sorry to offend the JC fans).

i own that one - but havent see it yet - it's not supposed to be one of his better efforts.

there is another thread around here somewhere with a lot of suggestions ... mine would be - see Deep Red
(more mystery than horror - owes a lot to alfred hitchcock.

I think lot of people liked it for its comedy or some of the corny lines.... I didnt find it to be creepy or very scary. If they made it too serious, it would definetly taken away from Mommy, Daddy, Roach and Fool's characters... If someone was expecting a serious scary movie, this isnt for them... This is more along the lines of Goonies with some horror. I actually found this movie to be just as funny as Shaun of the Dead.

Jeepers Creepers 2

and various Looney Tunes Episodes

Last night, I caught Joy Ride on TV. Usually, it's a bad thing when a movie is nothing like what I expected. In this case, I loved it. I was expecting more of a horror movie, but I thought it was a pretty damn good [Albiet very predicable] action flick.

I was bored this afternoon, and decided to watch one of the movies I bought today. I settled on Jeepers Creepers. It's been quite awhile since I saw it, and it lost much of it's effect. When I first saw it, I was very new to horror, and not very acostomed[I know I spelled that wrong] to gore. At the time, I was shocked by some of the more brutal parts of this movie. Now, althouigh they are pretty cool, the effect is different. I still think it's a great movie though...MUCH better than #2. One of the coolest monster/slasher characters since Freddy, IMO.

I thought the best part on the dvd was the actors comentary feature. That was fucking funny to hear Steve Zahn babeling during half the movie like a drunk kid.

One of my friends is completly obsessed with Harry Potter, and was pissed that I saw/own/enjoyed the other movies in the series, yet hadnt seen the 3rd. So, she brought it to my house last night and we watched it. Now, seeing as Askaban was my least favourite book in the series, I wasnt expecting much. I was pleasently surprised:)

The effects were pretty good, the acting was more than decent, and it's always nice to see some elements of horror shoved in there [The dementors were damn cool]

LOL....I didn't watch all of it honestly. But it seemed like the parts I watched were full of sick abuses against women. On the other hand, it was so completely ridiculous that is was hard to take seriously. So I am not sure why it bothered me so much.

But there was one scene that I caught I find amusing, so the humor wasn't completely lost on me.

Is it just me or does alot of japanese movies contain abuses against women? It must turn them on or something? Must be a japanese thing?

Well, I'm glad that I am not the only one.

I haven't seen many Japanese films, but in the ones I have seen, it usually seems that women are always something to be feared or yes, abused in some horrific matter (or both). But I haven't seen enough of them to make an overall judgement.

When i watch a cartoon movie i donīt care much about the story. Itīs always the humor thatīs in my focus. "The incredibles" failed at that point and i therefore found it hard to keep attention.

I thought the humor in "Finding nemo" was simply hilarious and the most imaginative iīve seen in a Disney so far. Like the surfer dude turtles, the ME-seagulls and the vegetarian sharks. :)

i dont think humor can work without a story ..
one supports the other.
And the more clever the story - the better the humor.

i'm very picky about kids movies ... and books as well ..

the best ones are always the smartest ones ..
and dont be fooled into thinking the kids dont notice - they do ..

Million Dollar Baby- Ive been wanting to see this since it was in theatres, and it was worth the wait. Outstanding film.

The Lone Ranger [2003 version] - Made for TV Lone Ranger flick starring Chad Micheal Murray. Need I say more? Honestly though, it was better than you'd expect.

Stone Cold- 2005 made-for-TV movie based on the Robert Parker novel. I really need to start reading this guys books, they make great movies/TV shows. Good, if somewhat formulatic, murder-mystery.

"Striking Distance" - Very underrated. Nothing mind blasting, but a solid action thriller none the less.

And the great support cast is what really lifts it. Tom Sizemore in great form, nice turns from Tom Atkins, Brion James and John Mahony and some excellent barnstorming by the GREAT Dennis Farina.

Maniac- No, not the 80's slasher...a very, very bizare little film from the mid-30's. Elements of Frankenstien and The Black Cat, combined with some clips from some "classic" silent movies made this a very odd film. Not very good acting, info describing different types of phycosis inbetween scenes....Im really not sure what to think about this movie.

Nudity, poor abused animals, violence, psychotic scientists, feline eyeball munching, battling clothes ripping women, fantastically mad dialogue, snarling homicidal loons who think they're Orang-utan's…and tips for successful cat fur farming!

Utter madness on celluloid!

Did you like it? I think I'm going to see it a second time...as kooky as Tom Cruise is, I thought it was still a damn good movie. :)

yes and no... yeah as I've always been a fan of tripod style aliens... H.G Wells, a British series years ago called The Tripods and Half-Life 2 had them, and speilberg did a pretty good job with bringing them 'to life'

and no, because of the usual case of lacking any decent story line, that goes somewhere.

Yeah, everyone I know who saw Fantastic Four told me it was hideous...I kind of figured it would be from the reviews, but since you can never REALLY trust those, I made my friends check it out first...saved me some money ;)

Watched a really bad DTV movie...Jolly Roger. About a pirate come back from the dead looking for his gold.Other than a couple of nice boob shots,a total waste.

Shallow Ground

Low budget, straight to video I picked up on a whim. I was actually pleasently surprised. Pretty good acting (considering budget), original story and decent gore make this one worth renting. B

Damn, I was actually kind of looking forward to seeing Michael Chikilis in this. Oh well, kind of figured it would suck. *Sighs*

Watching Halloween now.

I mean, I love Jessica Alba, for the obvious reasons, but fuck.

It wasn't *that* hard to sit through. It had me laughing my ass off at how lame it was at times. I'm not being sarcastic, it really did.

Am I the only one who has to fight off laughter over how bad stuff is when out at a theater? Especially the trailers.. some of em are just terrible..

Just watched 28 Days Later for the first time...anyone care to explain this one to me? I know there's gotta be some kind of hidden message/ symbolism in this. Or at least I hope so, 'cause I hated the ending.

Oh dear...that hysterically funny American view of the IRA as a group of deep individuals who contemplate life while sitting in firelit cottages listening to 'Clannad'!!! Ho ho!

Wow. That about sums it up....or not.

I love a movie that'll leave you thinking about it after it's over....this certainly accomplished that. Great gore, and th story is like a crossbreed of at least 3 different films...The Shining most prominently. And how bout that ending! Now to get myself a copy of The Beyond:)

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005).

For the first time ever I started to find Johnny Depp getting annoying near the end of the film.

It was ok, not as good as the original.

Better than outstaying it's welcome.
It does what it needs to do in the time.
