I heard a lot of bad things about this ... thought i was going to hate it but i ended up liking it quite a bit.

It was like watching a moving painting - gorgeous to look at ..
overshadowed any flaws it may have had.

Why, becuase your ego tells you that mainstream horror endings always have to suck?

Come on, Scream had a great ending, the only way it could "suck" is maybe if someone told you or something.

no... not at all.

it was a cool twist and all, but that one kid is such a fucking dumbass that he could never be a killer, and why did they keep stabbing eachother? Thay were acting like pricks instead of being spooky.

the opening scene with drew barrymore is the best part imo.

Dr. Jeckyl and Mr. Hyde

Very old, silent and black and white. This film just seemed too slow moving for my taste. I wasn't really a fan of it.

C

The Hunchback of Notre Dame

This one was very old, silent and black and white, but I liked it a quite a bit. The facial expressions of the hunchback were just hilarious and overall I was entertained.

B+

American Pie: Band Camp

Well, it was a bout what I'd expected, which was a pretty stupid sequel. This franchise had been going downhill since the first one and now it's straight to video, but nevertheless, it has it's moments. Very crude humor in the tradition of American Pie.

D+

Venom

I thought this was pretty stupid. The gore was good, the acting was fine, but the story sucked and didn't really make sense. It wasn't one of the worst movies I've ever seen, but I probably won't be watching it again either.

"Death valley" 2/10

Despite its decent acting and special effects, this zombie movie is totally ruined by itīs low budget and weak story.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

"House of wax" 2005 7-8/10

Even though iīm not a big fan of slasher movies, i found this surprisingly good for itīs genre. Great special effects.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Willard" 2003 7-8/10

Also a surprisingly good horror movie, about a not quite normal man who finds out he can communicate with the rats in his basement. The movie could might as well have been called "Lord of the rats". Hehehe...
Thereīs a handfull of good actors in this one, including Laura Harring and R. Lee Ermey who is enjoyable to watch as Willards asshole boss. But the most remarkable performance comes from Crispin Glover (George McFly in "back to the future") as Willard. I mean, WAUW!!... Talk about perfect casting.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Longest yard" 2005 4/10

Adam Sandler plays an ex-football pro who ends up in jail and is forced to gather a team of convicts who will play against the jail guards.
Youīre supposed to root for Sandler and his gang all the way thru to the big showdown, but before that happened i found myself not giving a shit anymore.

The big problem with the Longest Yard is, that it canīt decide if itīs a comedy or a drama, a sports movie or a jail movie and because of that nothing works from beginning to end.

Itīs just not a very good movie.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

The uncut/unrated Escape 2000 also known as Turkey Shoot and Death Camp, Tatcher. It was a blast, I especially liked the hands being cut off and the really cool head explosion near the end. Second time I've seen it, after about 5 years.
Pretty decent sci-fi type dealy...love the whole setting, score was pretty nicely done too.
Pretty good value, I got it brand new on dvd for $5AUD, which is really fuck-all.
Unsure about the sequal/prequel though, might just spoil the whole deal.

Dead and Breakfast

Very entertaining, mid-budget pseudo zombie flick. (They aren't quite zombies.) Anyways, this film shattered my expectations and actually made for a very fun watch. The acting is just fine (Jeremy Sisto is always good and David Carradine is in there too.) The humor is just about right... Not too in your face and not like they were trying TOO hard, but just right. The gore, while low budget, was sloppy and abundant. And overall, it just had a really unique feel to it with the interjection of comical country songs in between each "chapter". If you're a zombie or low budget cheesy gore fan, don't miss this one.

The Frighteners - Highly under-rated. Great ghost story.

Dracula '31 - Classic, but not 1 I could watch all the time.

House on Haunted Hill '99 - I prefer the original, but this remake was alright.

Dick Tracy - Haha. Really? I liked it a lot when it came out, but the last time I saw it, it was WAY worse than I remembered it being. Way too colorful, the sets were tacky. It was just waaay too cartoony. I know that was the point, but I didn't like it nearly as much seeing it fifteen years later.

Sin City - Yeah, this is one for me too. Kick ass movie. And orgasm for your eyes.

I agree Dick Tracy is a bit overly cartoonish, but I guess thats the apeal for me.

I think this is a great film, the acting is very good and the story compelling. But I just can't get over what Christian Bale did to himself; I have mentioned this everywhere I go tonight. That's just crazy.....I mean, suffering for your art is one thing, but geez man.....

A few movies I can watch over and over again that will NEVER get old:

Pumpkinhead

Not to mention that he then went on to film "batman begins" more or less right after, and beefed up like whut! for that. I guess the guy's just very into what he does.

Dodgeball, first time I've seen it.
I actually AVOIDED watching this movie...but saw it on weekly hire, so I thought I'd give it a shot, and it was actually one of the funniest films I've seen in a while. Vince Vaugn played a decent role, and Ben Stiller...well, he's always played the completely overdone dipshits pretty well. Not a bad watch at all, WAY funnier than I was expecting.

Then, watched Shaun of the dead...probably about the 6th time around. Yup, still brilliant. If there's the slightest chance anyone here HASN'T seen it by now, do yourself a favour and at least hire it, I cannot praise this film enough.

I was hyped for this movie, since people have rather ranted about it quite a bit on forums I frequent. "Best werewolf movie in a long time" someone said. Personally, I thought Ginger Snaps was a lot better. I'm not a fan of war movies, or the likes, so I should have known I wouldn't think of this as "great". It was so-so. if I was into this genre, horror/warfare, then hell I would have thought it was great. Just not my thing, so this is my rating. The camera work early on hurt my eyes with it's quick movements.

I haven't seen it in awhile so it's not all that clear in my mind at the moment but by war movie do you mean just the exsistence of soldiers? 'Cause from what I remember it was a group of soldiers that encountered werewolves, other than them being soldiers it had nothing to do with war.

Good cheesy, low budget gore. Very artistic and unique direction as well as fine acting and compelling witch tale make this one a rightfully deserving classic. Argento's use of color in almost ever scene's lighting is something I haven't seen done in that manner very often and it creates for a very atmospheric film. All in all, it was good, but I'm not a nut for witch films so I didn't think it was anything great, just good.

Pi - Gripping movie but in the end that payoff wasn't worth the invetment. I liked the movie but I was a bit dissapointed.

The Crazies - Another reason to thank God for Romero. Incest, killer gradmothers, and the Trixie disease which I think was kind of a precursor the "rage" from 28 Days later only less zombifying.

The Howling - A little slow but a good werewolf film, not many of those around anymore. Joe Dante sure has a diverse resume and can do both horror and comedy pretty well.

Yeh that's been debated for years. I like the De Palma style of Hitchcock cause its got a real 80s exploitation trash thing going on. I really like his film Raising Cain too. But suspense films will always have a dash of Hitch just like gangster films will have a pinch of Scorcese.

Meh. It was tolerable, but not great. The plot was below average, it was like they took the worst bits from Van Helsing and Sleepy Hollow then added some wasted Fairy tale references. My main problem was that it drug on forever, easily could have been half an hour shorter. Oh, and I cant see why everyone was praising the visuals, that was some horrible CGI! I loved it.
I thought it was even better than the first.
But this film really has no grey area-you either love it or hate it.

Bride of Chucky - Didn't think much of the series until Bride and Seed. Amazingly comical. Love them.

Martin which I really really liked. I loved the way Martin was portrayed as a vampire with nothing supernatural surrounding it. After Martin I watched Darkman which we all know is plenty of fun, especially when Ted's charecter Rick is lifted up into the street through the manhole and of course Bruce's cameo at the end. I think I'll have a small Hennenlotter viewing sometime this week.

The Jacket.
Definately took inspiration from a few other films...a little gothika, a little 7 monkeys, a little butterfly effect.., but I really liked it all the same, at no point did it feel like it wasn't its own story, and a good movie. Weird storyline, pretty good feel overall, nice resolution, even if a little sad.
I hired it, but will probably be buying this one a little down the line...I've seen no end of people dissing this movie, but hey, guess it's not for everyone.

He just finished a concert tour in the UK with David Essex, The Bay City Rollers, and The Osmond Brothers. He was also doing a show in Vegas for quite a while.

At the time, it was the only gig he could get. But it kick-started his career again.

A Better Tomorrow

I really enjoyed it! Action packed, but still serious and thought-provoking, to some extent. One problem I had was that it was either poorly written, or the subtitles were poorly done in some places. Alot of those lines were beyond horrible. Overall, that didnt detract too much from the movie though....Mark has got to be one of, if not the coolest characters Ive seen from an Asian movie:cool:

8/10

Darkman, on vhs.
I honestly couldn't remember much about this film from seeing it last at about the age of 13, at which time I had no idea it was a Sam Raimi film.
Watching it again, I actually enjoyed it a lot more than I expected after my initial viewing. Pretty dark tale, sad and funny, and what a psycho motherfucker he is! Good score, nice camera-work, and actually had a pretty comicbook "feel" throughout.
I'm sure that watching this, the comic would have been VERY good, I'll be trying to download it soon.

Venom

Not that great really. Some decent killings and gore, rather stupid plot, predictable ending. Not recommended. Overall: 4/10
