Unpredictable, scary, and without the post-modern shit references that ruined the recent instalments.

is some pretty creppy stuff... especially the scene where

"Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" 7/10

Not one of Burtonīs best, but at LEAST as good as the original.
I liked how Burton made the Willy Wonka character a little deeper by digging up his childhood to explain his weird personality. The original didnīt.
But the absolute best in this movie (And iīm sure alot of adults will agree) was Deppīs performance as the super eccentric Willy Wonka wich, of course, was absolutely outstanding. Though i have to say that Gene Wilders performance as a more insane Willy, in the original, was just as impressive.

The children (Including the main character) and parents in both versions was equally annoying. And a thing that buged me a little was the parents lack of effort to help their own children. That was just so unnatural.

But itīs always facinating to see Burtonīs fairytale universe.

"One time my cousin Walter got this cat stuck in his ass. True story. He bought it at the local mall, so the whole fiasco wound up on the news. It was embarrassing for my relatives and all. But the next week, he did it again. Different cat, same results, complete with a trip to the emergency room. Then, last week, I saw him in the pet store. He was buying another cat. I said, "Walt, what the hell are you doing, you know you're just gonna get this cat stuck up your ass too, why don't you knock it off?" And he says to me, "Brodie, how the hell else am I supposed to get the gerbil out?" My cousin was a weird guy."

Love that line!

Just finished watching Monster-In-Law. Man, what a shitty movie that was! Almost everything about this movie sucked!
First off, they used recycled jokes from other comedies and shoved them into one 100 minute movie.
Second, both Jennifer Lopez and Jane Fonda have lost my respect. Third, they ripped on a Nightmare on Elm Street. I know what you're thinking. WTF?! Here, I'll explain. J'lo's character Charlie (wtf?) is flipping through the channels in one scene and stops when she sees that NOES is on (the scene is where Tina is having her nightmare and discovers Freddy for the second time.) Anyway, Fonda's character Viola (wtf?) walks in with sharp knives on her nails or something (guess she was getting her nails done) and starts ripping on NOES badly. She says crap like everybody in the movie are nobodies, that it's unrealistic (which is true, but this a horror movie! It's not going to be realistic.) and goes on and on. It was insulting. Fourth, Michael Vartin is a horrible actor and shouldn't show his face again IMO and his character Kevin (finally, a real name/one that fits the gender) is horrible also. Nobody is that perfect!
And the list goes on and on. The only thing I liked about this movie was Wanda Sykes. Thank god she was in this movie (though I feel sad for her that her acting ability and sense of humor had to be wasted to such a horrid script.)

I give Monster-In-Law half a star out of 5.

Watched Violent Cop late last night. After seeing it, I now realize why Kitano's nickname is "Beat" Takeshi. He beats up pretty much everyone he meets throughout the film, including a young boy (in the opening scene!) At one point, he slaps a drug dealer across the face for about five minutes. There was some sort of revenge plot going on, but this movie was really all about the beatdowns.

I watched Sahara a couple of hours ago. A great action flick. Blended both Bond and Jones together very well and stayed original (though it was an adaptation of the book of the same name, so it's not totally original.)

I still don't know
I have to digest it for awhile
I mainly rented it to see the state Christian Bale got into for the role, and I was shocked, what a beautiful creature he is and he did that to himself for art.Part of me gets the why of it,part of me thinks-he will pay for that when he turns 60.

Alright.
Here's what I think.
The scene where he hits that kid is unbearable,I had nightmares last night.
I was confused thru-out the movie but I wasn't going to fast forward like I usually do.
I had to see the end of this movie-but it was like walking thru molasses to get there.

Finally got to see this. Having read the book that it's based on last month, Ive really been looking forward to this. It was great, but not as great as it could have been. The cast was great, Rourke and DeNiro were both perfect in their roles, exactly as I thought of them in the book. The only thing that I really didnt like was how they changed the setting. Having it set entirely in New York, where the book took place, would have worked much better, IMO. Overall though, despite a few things that bothered me that were changed, it was a great movie and alot better than most novel adaptions Ive seen. And if you dont know the ending already, it will blow you away, one of the greatest endings Ive seen in awhile.

Holds up- Definatly. Zombie/Slasher- Kindasorta. The only "zombie" isnt really a zombie...undead, I guess, but he never died in the first place. Slasher...I guess you could say that, but not really. There's a few pretty good, gory deaths...but not really in a slasher kind of way. REALLY cool ending, plus the whole thing leaves alot of unanswered questions, which is something I llove in a movie. The Ring Two

I really hated the first Ring movie, but being a tru ehorror fan, I make a poin to see pretty much every film I can (More or less) so that's the tale of how I ended up watching the piece of shit known as The Ring 2.

First off, I should say that when I saw they were doing a Ring sequel I groaned. "Why would they make a sequel to such a fucking crappy movie?" I asked myself. Well, after a bit of thought, I decided that the only logical explanation was that it must be to tie up the thirty or so loose ends they left hanging in the first one. So I rented and watched, fully expecting that this was one sequel that had a pretty good shot at being better than the original. Damn was I wrong! ...And did I mention how I thought the first one sucked ass?

The Ring Two starts out with a couple of crappy actors who unexplicably have possession of 'the tape' (Ooooo... ). In the first 15 minutes of the movie, they add a new rule to the franchisee, explaining that if you watch the tape, but make someone else watch it within a week, you are safe. (That makes the first movie that much stupider since anyone tht watched it in that movie dies.) The movie then proceeds from there to an entirely different storyline altogether (Not involving the tape at all) about the lady and her disturbed kid from the first one. Anyways, it actually turns out to be more of a 'Haunted Kid' movie than anything else and in true Ring fashion... The ending absolutely sucks!

I highly recommend that you do not waste your time on this fucking piece of crap. (Or the first one if you havent already.)

Bad acting, ridiculous plot, NO onscreen gore make this one worth skipping.

Frankenfish

Okay, I watched this movie with virtually no expectations. It's looked really fucking cheesy from the package, butlike I said in the Ring 2 post, I try to watch everything that comes out so I gave it a rent.

I was pleasently surprised that the acting was not half bad. There was quite a bit of gore, but unfortunately it was about 75% CGI, bloody nonetheless though. Storylinewise, it's similar to Anaconda or something, but with the added (stupid) twist that these fish were genetically engineered to be giant man eating salmon.

All in all, this movie was better than I was expecting but not great by any stretch of the imagination. Still, if you like cheesy gore (And dont mind it being CGI) then this one might be worth a rent. There's a couple nice hooters shots too for all you horn-dogs.

Incredible movie, and seems to get better each time I watch it. Nothing can match the amazing perormances from almost the entire cast, especially from Lugosi, Frye, and Edward Van Sloan in a very underated turn as Prof. Van Helsing. The Shining

Great movie, not not as great as I remembered. Dropped a few places on my list, but still near the top. Jack's preformance is amazing, and quite possibly the best he's done, in my opinion.

THEN
Hamburger Hill.

Theater: Red Eye. While I had wanted horror, I was satisfied with the action movie I got instead. 7/10

DVD: Sleepaway Camp 3: Teenage Wasteland. Ahhh... I can watch the SC movies over and over. Lawnmower to the head makes me tingle. 8/10

"Weīre going to eat you" 5-6/10

Asian horror/marial art movie with dark humor.

What can i say about it...... Well.... It was better than "Mr. Vampire". Reminded me of "Gymkata" actually, if anybody remember that B-flick. The lunatics in "Gymkata" were just replaced with cannibals.

Wow, what a classic. Really a shame that I went so long without having seen this gem. Great movie overall, too lazy and tired to write more:)

Performance wise it's between that and One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest. Fucking amazing movie, with a hellofa cast.

Return of the Living Dead.

Bought this movie with so-so expectations. I loved it, I thought it was fantastic. Hilarious, and with it's fare share of creeps and gore.

I saw this movie before seeing Any Dead movies or knowing much about the Dead movies......I loved it then and still love it.

I have seen all the Dead movies because of this film.

Now you have to rent Return of the Living Dead part2.It's not as good, but still worth watching IMO.

Everything sucks in that movie except for the intro and the witch.

I thought the Witch was pretty bad too, actually.

Anywho, I just watched One Body Too Many, a great little 40's whodunnit style comedy. Reminded me of a cross between the original House on Haunted Hill, and the 1941 version of The Black Cat. Definatly a fun mix, and, as if it wasnt good enough already, Bela Lugosi has a small but hilarious role as a buttler. "Would you like some coffee"?:D

Bram Stoker's Dracula from 1992. I love this movie; the design and everything else is top notch. <3

I rewatched the first episode of Alias on dvd.
That's a solid show...great soundtrack and score, the action feels authentic, BADASS twists, and you gotta love the whole mission impossible "feel". I think I'll watch some more.

Good.

The knife in the eye and nose cutting scene was very well made. And íīve rarely seen so many famous faces in a horror movie.

Jeff Goldblum
Christopher Walken
Chris Sarandon
Tom Berenger

I thought he did a good job with the role. I mean, yeah, he did seem a bit whiny at times, but otherwise... I think he did a great job as Dracula.
