I watched Death Proof again. A majority of people dislike it because 98% of it consists of dialogue that doesn't really pertain to the 'plot.' I actually dug these segments. I found myself really drawn into the conversations, as if I was there - I have a soft spot for Quentin dialogue. In honesty, I prefered the dialogue segments to those with Stuntman Mike. I was sad when it ended, not because the ending was horrendous, but simply because it was over. It's one of the few films I wish ran far past the 2hr mark. 3hrs even.
Following that, I watched Go. I really liked that also. Again, intertwining characters and multi-angled storylines are one of my favourites, IF done correctly. Otherwise, it gets real repetitive, real quick. Luckily that didn't apply here. Sarah Polley is one of my favourite actresses, after seeing her in My Life Without Me (watch it, if you haven't already) and she worked wonders with the rest of the 'bubblegum crew' (I swear, most of these actors appear in 90% of teen-oriented films made around this time...) It was, like many critics suggest, a child of Pulp Fiction. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Saw snakes on a plane yesterday...pretty much dreading it...now, while I can safely say that pretty much nobody could remotely act (Samuel just did his over the top bit...nothing compared to what he CAN do), this wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
If you could sit though turbulence, this won't really be a problem.
Some funny kills and gross "kinda" gore.
Still probably about a 4/10
Started watching through the Police Academy collection with #1 last night.
I think this was probably my favourite of them - a lot of the sequels relying too much on winslow, and walking stereotype characters. Not that they're bad, but this one always had a quality to it that the large part of the sequels didn't.
I'll continue watching through.

Death Sentence. 08/10
Excellent movie. Its very Death Wish-esque but yet its very unique too. Kevin Bacon excels like never before...and the atmosphere of the movie is awesome. The action sequences pack a real mean punch...overall its one of the best action movies of recent times.
I recommend it.

For Your Consideration; I didn't think it was very comical. I laughed once, but that's only because I adore Parker Posey. I was more interested in the campy Home For Purim then I was in the actual film itself. I hadn't seen any other Guest films, are they all similiar to this? I don't think it's my brand of comedy.

Pretty good overall. The ending was a bit abrupt, but I thought it meshed together well. I thought Harrison Ford played the role appropriately for his age, no Indiana Jones moves, and Paul bettany made a great villain. He looks like a damn psycho. Thank god he wasnt a self-mutilating albino in it.

Saw "Halloween" last night. Aside from a few things during the young Michael sequences, I thought it was really good. I can't believe how much members on this forum hated it. I also can't believe how badly y'all missed the point of this movie. Of course, this is the same community that voted "Shaun of the Dead" as the best horror movie since 2000, LOL. Anyway...I guess y'all wanted an exact replice of the classic we got 30 years ago. If Zombie did that then everyone would criticize him for no creaitivity/originality. This was his own take on the Myers character and I personally believe he did a pretty damn good job with it. Period.

MirrorMask ~ absolutely adored this film.......wonderful visuals, very imaginative, funny, and touching.....good family film.
The Contract ~ I enjoyed it, overall, but its nothing really special....a good cast, and a couple of cool scenes. I didn't always think the characters were very convincing though.
The Number 23 ~ had high hopes for this one, but......it just seemed more silly than anything. It did get better in the second half, but I wasn't impressed.
Music and Lyrics ~ cute, but not great. As romantic comedies go, its not bad.
Panic ~ silly, and seems to drag on for freakin' ever....lol.....bought a cheap horror movie collection recently, guess I can expect a lot of this.....;)
Silent Night, Bloody Night ~ despite the poor quality, the often irritating narration, and the poor execution of some really good ideas.....I really enjoyed this one.

It was a brutal film, IMO. It captured such a base(I can't think of the proper definition here) of human existance. The 'almost execution' scene was truly disturbing, I found it harder to watch than most slasher scenes in a horror movie.
I have a very, VERY low tolerance for anything emotional with babies now that I've popped out three...it's a hormone thing;) and so, since that was the was way the whole movie STARTED , I was pretty much ruined for the rest of the film.

Just seen The Descent. What an incredible stupid movie. They should imprison ppl for making this crap! First off, cool car accident (too bad for the lil girl), 6 woman going hiking in caves. Pretty cool storyline, until the first "monster" shows up. I mean, wtf was that all about? First of all, I know IT'S A MOVIE, but how can you possibly mutate into something like that? (presuming these creatures were once human and started generations of inbreeding). I thought it was about some cool creatures like in "The Cave" (a giant bat or pterodactyl flying piece of shit creature :D). And all of a sudden two of those woman start killing off a few of these creatures. "Oh yeah, apparently we're stronger then these creatures. I've killed 3 already. How bout you, Juno?" FFS!! *annoyed* And what was with the ending??? Sarah got out of the cave THROUGH A DIFF EXIT and he manages to trace back to the car. You should get fucking lost in those woods imo! But hey, it's movie, anything is possible, so why don't create a movie with Santa Claus turning into The Blob? What a great tearjerker that would be! THE DESCENT: 1/10

IMO, one of the best movies I've seen in a while. It was clever. The crawlers weren't meant to be scary on their own, it was how the dark played tricks on the climbers and also on the viewers that made it scary. Having people turn on eachother in a time of panic is also a classic theme in horror. I wouldn't have expected any less from Neil Marshall. As for the ending, make sure to see the UK ending. Find it on youtube, anywhere you can cause it was better. Lastly, the crawlers weren't spawned from inbreeding, it was evolutionary change. (Their ears growing bigger like bats to they can use ecolocation to move around etc.)

Stay Alive... Every single character was retarded. At first the blonde girl was the only one that bugged me, but now every single character other than Malcolm pissed me off, especially the blonde girl. The ending I would have liked to seen and applauded, the blonde girl gets stabbed/gutted, whatever the ghost/video game lady was trying ro do, then the entire tower collapses with the douhcebag that was afraid of the fire inside. A shot of the Rosebush, Malcolm sits up, looks at the burning tower, stands up, and walks away.
I mean...
"WE DON'T HAVE THE TIME! JUST GO ON!"-What the fuck? There's no time limit, let that douchebag that was afraid of fire open the God damn door. God damn it.
One fucking monster leaps at them, she throws a hand full of the roses at it, WHAT THE FUCK? Those are the things keeping you from getting F'd in the A by the Tooth Fairy or Mary Shaw or whatever the fuck she was.
Oh, and the picking apart the fucking rose! The douchebag that was afraid of fire gave you the fucking rose so you wouldn't get gutted by the fucking witch/slavemaster/bitch with the pointy stick, and you pick it apart saying "He loves me, He loves me not"
For the douchebag afraid of fire...
Kick the fucking doorknob off! The room is burning, don't run to the other side of the room and curl in the corner because the door's locked, you have a foot, kick the fucking knob off, you even had a fucking hammer when you nailed the ghost bitch's head, use that.

I don't mind low budget (some of my favorites are low budget films), but I tell you what.....the music bugged the hell out of me, and maybe it was supposed to, so you could relate to the character better......;) But it was just too much, it completely took me out the movie. And the acting didn't help. I don't expect great acting when I watch a low budget horror film, or really any horror film.....but with those two things combined, it just made it hard for me to watch. Everytime I was finally getting into the film, it would cut to a scene of the band, or some annoying girl whining. And there I was, bored again. :D
But I will say, I liked the ending. And a couple of the death scenes were very effective.

The 36th Chamber of Shaolin
One of those films that truly defines a genre.
Shoot 'Em Up
totally unbelievable action
complete mess of a plot
more dead bodies than all the Jason movies combined
and I loved every minute of it.
check your brain at the door and have fun with this one.

You always get one of those lines with a trailor...''Best action film since Terminator'', ''Best horror movie since Silence of the Lambs'' ect. ect. Saw one a couple weeks back that said..''Best western since Unforgiven''. Well, they finally got one right(or at least that I wholehearted agree with)...

humm.....its hilarious. its gruesome and truly its an old school American horror; but nothing more than that. Perhaps I expected too much from this film......
Anyway, Leslie Vernon was a more interesting character than Victor Crowley.

The Fountain
I don't know why I hadn't watched this one before. I LOVED it. A movie about themes more than plot, about beauty and life and death. Heavy handed, yes, but in this particular instance I appreciated the overtly romantic tale about two people with very different views about death.
8.5/10

I was finishing up Deadwood Season 3 & Weeds Season 2 and now I'm in to Heroes Season 1 so I havent had a ton of time for movies lately.
Death Proof
This was fun. Good acting, suspense and gore. It was a good road rage/revenge flick and Tarantino's dialogue was excellent. The intentional editing errors were a nice touch too. All in all, this was an enjoyable, original film.

I saw that recently for the first time and loved it. Friedkin has this crazy, real, gritty style that makes everything seem like dirty truth.

Absolute classic, Seth Rogan is really making some great movies.
Halloween
I've avoided the ''Zombie's Halloween a disappointment'' in order to dodge spoilers but I'm heading to it right now to see what the fuss is about. I thought it was really good, definately better than the last 6 and imo the endings to this and the original are neck and neck, I was debating about the whole way home. Anyway, I thought it was really good and entertaining.
