local radio station has phone-ins for real stories etc, some people send in a fake snuff video tape, the radio presenter researches the video tape and finds out that it's real... she goes to the shoot location to investigate.
and it is good.

There are some strong arguments for Oswald not beeing the only killer...and thats  one of them....I'm no legal expert but I dont think it is unusual to keep dokuments away from the public...it has been don in many other cases....
...but one of the strongest arguments are "back and to the left" movment on the last shot.....thats hard to explain....but I've seen some test shooting with the same rifle and amunition Oswald used...and you would be suprised to see what direction the target moved....it moved to different places every time....

Lat House On the Left.
after recently seeing I Spit On Your Grave - I thought I'd revisit this one - to compare..
Last House seems incredible amateurish compared to ISOYG.
The music was terrible and often out of place with the scene ...
I dont know if this was on purpose or it was just the times ...
it certainly seemed more exploitive than I Spit ...

Well my ratin is simple really...
all the bad films get 5-6, dependin on performances and story...
7 for OK-not-too-good-not-too-bad ones...
8 for good story good performances...
9 for very good story powerful performances...
10 for outstandin movies...
So far I give a 10 only to two movies...
1) The Shining (Kubrick-Nicholson-King)
2) The Exorcist

It wasnt completly horrible...but whoever wrote the script needs to get shot....multiple times. Wow some of those lines were bad....anything Whistler said, that idiotic "Knife in my heart" speech from Abby, almost every damn word out of King's mouth...Dracula was horrible...and what the hell was with him turning into that messed up looking thing at the end? I think they were trying to make an action movie with a heart, but they failed miserably. It had some moments though, that Pomeranian was damn cool!
I give it a 6/10...a disapointing end to an above average series.

If anybody knows...was this film actually a REMAKE of the older film by the same name, or only "kinda"?

remake in name only i believe ..
the 1st was more of a run from the cops road movie with Barry Neuman i think (some 70's singer) - unless i'm mixing movies up - i havent seen it in years. I believe the filmmaker came out with the Junkman after GI60Sec.

Amitiville remake- 5/10, Not much to say since it was almost like the Psycho remake, it wasn't word for word scene for scene but it basically just copied the original with the exception of bad acting. Ryan Renolds did an ok job but the rest of the cast were sub-par. Overall it was watchable but in the worst way, it's rather boring and plan then something will happen to catch your attention for a moment then it goes back to being plan.
A Series of Unfortunate Events- 8/10, I thought it was very funny, Carrey was great as usual and the kids gave a good performance as well. The sets,make-up and costumes were really cool. Overall it's as cool and funny as it is visually great.
Blade Trinity- 4/10, Surprisingly I thought the acting wasn't totally horrible, Snipes and Reynolds were ok but other than that I was disappointed. Dracula looks like a complete pussy and he couldn't act his way out of a wet paper bag with a katana. The only thing that got the rating as high as it is was the fighting which I did enjoy, not as good as in the first two Blades but neither was anything else. Overall I don't think it's that good of a film at all but if you liked the first two Blade films you might be able to sit through this one without clawing your eyeballs out.

I loved Rawhead Rex, aside from the low buget, it was spot on with the short story. Haven't seen Spider, but that's one of the "Cronenberg didn't do that" movies, kind of like Crash and M. Though, I am repulsed but also strangely drawn to Crash .

Yes, I have friend that would defend Rawhead Rex to the death I think. I just don't get it, I think it is a horrible mess.
Crash is an excellent film in my opinion, but it isn't for everyone. I have no desire to see it again, but I think it was done very well. Give Spider a chance though, if you are so inclined. It is different for sure, but I think it is a very intriguing movie.

I tend to feel that way also, that is why I don't feel the need to see it ever again. I didn't enjoy it. In fact, I was downright uncomfortable through a lot of it. But I still think it is a good film. Let's just say I have an appreciation for what Cronenberg was trying to do and I think he did it very well. But I completely understand why Crash wouldn't exactly be well-liked.

liked it .. typical Mann .. tightly wound .. and great pacing ..
Less of the usual emphasis on the music this time .. wit the exception of one shitty song in the middle ..
He's usually a lot more plugged in to what the kids are into ...
I mean - music was there, and figured throughout the film .. but its more laid back .. probably because Mann is a lot older now.

I actually enjoyed Collateral a lot more than I thought I would.
The last movie I watched was some old horror film called Maniac (1934), which was um, interesting. I was watching it thinking it borrowed too much from Poe's story The Black Cat and I see on IMDB that Poe is actually credited, which I didn't realize.Anyway, the acting was just awful....awful.....it was pretty bad overall really. Tuvalu (Germany - Bulgaria 1999):
In a desolate and colorless landscape stands a dilapidated bathhouse run by a puffed-up blind man, his long-suffering wife, and their son Anton, who does all the work. He's lonely and unsophisticated, and he falls in love with the beautiful Eva, who comes to bathe with her father. When Eva and her father lose their home, they come to the bathhouse to stay, but bits of the ceiling fall on the old man and he dies. Eva blames Anton, and she seems to seek the arms of the brute Gregor. Can Anton win back her heart, get the bathhouse through a rigorous government inspection, and help keep his parents employed? Waiting out there somewhere is the paradise isle of Tuvalu.

American History X is the best work of every single actor in the film. The curby Eddie gives the black dude is brutal! You can hear his teeth scrape the curb... But it's like they say... "He should have learned his place on the fucking basketball court."

Slasherman:No, Im just a crazy Dane, and I think that every Scandinavian has seen this movie!
Here is some facts about the movie I talked about last:
"This excellent movie is now available in crisp colors and with restored sound. Being made i 1975, the stop motion animation is surprisingly good, and the story still hold to the ones we have been served in more recent animation flicks. It also contains a behind the scenes documentary.
The car in the movie (Il Tempo Gigante) was made in full scale (actually a guy from the Ferrari factory in Italy helped out on the bodywork), and can be seen on display and driving at "Hunderfossen" park in Norway.
I remember seeing it when it was first released, but seeing it again as an adult revealed lots of details:
1: Look at the eyes of the moose when the main caracters are watching tv.
2: The car registration HB 4596 as anounsed on the loudspeaker before the race refers to bootlegging booze: HB - Home Brewed, 45 (as in 45% proof, available in norwegian stores) - and 96 (as in 96 proof, what all bootleggers aim for)
3: And the game of chess played in the tent of "Ben- Redik - Fy Fasan" (actually a euphemism for "fy faen" - norwegian swearing meaning "the Devil") is a spanish play which you'll find in many books on chess.
and the list goes on
Shown on Norwegian television every Christmas Eve.
Since its premiere on 28 August 1975, the movie was shown at a cinema somewhere in the world every day of the week, for 28 years. Mainly in theaters in Norway, Moscow or Tokyo, the non-stop run ended in 2003.
The original puppet of Ludvig, the most popular character in the movie, was later auctioned away for cancer-related charity. The bidding ended on 110,000 Norwegian Kroners.
Ivo Caprino was a perfectionist. The animated band plays the correct notes in correct timing to the soundtrack.
This movie has been translated into at least 14 languages. Emmanuel Desperados's voice has not been translated at all (he's an orang-utan), so 'Harald Heide-Steen Jr' is credited with the voice in all languages."
Didnt you find Sharks Tale too childish Dantes Inferno?

Morons From Outer Space ..
had funny moments but pretty uneven.
Some of the jokes were so old and bad i couldnt believe they were written by the same person.
I did have a few good laughs though.

I took stock of what I have been doing and realize it's borderline insanity. I simply have to stop buying cold turkey.
If i get on ebay and start making money on all the crap i have in the garage then i might get one ot 2 here and there but I'm done for now .. it really came to a head finantially ...
(i'd been spending close to $1000 on movies a month ...)

at this point a heroin addiction would be cheaper.
the problem is finding amazing deals ...
you convince yourself you are saving money .. and you are .. but you'd save even more if you didnt buy them at all.
maybe in a few months i can pick up one or 2 every now or then.
but no more binge buying..
I dont even have anymore room for laserdiscs ... I simply have no room to keep them !
DVDs .. i can probably accommodate 2 or 3 hundred more then thats it ..

Watched "Infection"aka "Kansen", from Japan, last night. I'm not really sure what it was trying to be.It had elements of horror but didn't capitalize on them.In the end it was just a confusing mess.

my first viewing was a vcd i downloaded a year before the film was available in North America .. I missed some of the dialogue ..
i never even heard the line 'We're coming to get you Barbra' or 'join us'
but what i really paid attention to this time was just how well made it was .. it was an extremely tight film .. and it avoided a lot of the obvious humor some sophisticated british comedies are tempted to delve into ..
my favorite parts were the stuff that Shaun was barely aware of going on in the background ..people falling, news flashes, paper headlines... and all of the times you were made to jump - because of a sudden appearance of someone (accompanied by a noise) not one time was it a zombie either ..it was always just another person .. i think it happened 4 or 5 times ..
great stuff..
