I'm not really a huge fan of the series though. I don't really care if it "doesn't feel like Star Wars" or anything like that.
It's more than the feel even though it feels like Star Wars at times. I guess I should ask if you aren't a fan of the series or don't care about certain elements, why watch and review it?
That's something that amazes me when I read some reviews and later on you realize or find out that that person doesn't really like the series or type of movie they are reviewing.

I'm sure this movie is all R.L. Stine fans wet dream. I am not one of them as I'm simply too old. Compared to the Goosebumps and Are You Afraid of the Dark tv series this one actually had good acting, but the many over-the-top action scenes got a little tiresome for this old timer.
I'm sure young horror fans will have a blast with this one.

Krampus - fun Xmas horror from the guy who gave us Trick R Treat. Very much like Christmas Vacation meets Gremlins.
Victor Frankenstein - Enjoyably over the top nonsense that bears little semblance to the book. The Hobbit is pretty good as (fake) Igor and James McAvoy chews the scenery up as the nutty Doc.

Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002)
Five movies in, and I think I've finally come to my definitive least favorite of the series. It's not bad, per say, just underwhelming, although it does have an better plot than The Phantom Menace. In Attack of the Clones, the Galactic Republic is on the brink of civil war when several planetary system threaten to secede under the leadership of rogue Jedi Count Dooku. An assassination attempt is made on Senator Padme Amidala, so Anakin Skywalker is tasked with protecting her, while his mentor Obi-Wan Kenobi goes to investigate. Luckily, Episode II did deliver on my hope from Episode I in that the plot moves considerably forward, and some of the more notable characters are given more screen time (or less in Jar Jar's case, thank god). Padme and Anakin have a romantic subplot that I didn't mind, and Obi-Wan is always fun to watch, but I thought Anakin's character was much more interesting in this movie. There was quite a bit of foreshadowing of Anakin's transformation into Darth Vader that put the prequels into a better context and made Anakin more intriguing. It'd be nice if Hayden Christensen wasn't so awful in his role. Attack of the Clones does succumb to middle-chapter problems at times. There wasn't anything as memorable as the Darth Maul battle in The Phantom Menace or the speeder bike chase in Return of the Jedi. The fight between Yoda and Count Dooku is pretty cool at first, but watching a little green alien jump around like Sonic got old after a while. Attack of the Clones is still just as entertaining and fun as the other Star Wars movies, even if it's one of the weaker entries.

Phantoms -
I finally got the chance to watch Phantoms. I read somewhere that this was a Lovecraft type movie. That got it on my list. The movie starts off pretty good. It reminded me of Silent Hill and I wish we just had the two women exploring the abandoned town for a bit longer. The town is a nice setting too. Perfect for a horror movie. But once more characters show up it loses some of the tension and adds a character that really shouldn't be in the movie. A goof ball type. I might read the book one day to see how much was changed for the movie. The premise is good and back story will make you think. I just feel that they added stuff for the sake of whoever watched the movie back then. And they could have made something even better with more thought. Still worth a watch if you like The Thing and other movies of this type.

There is... NO WAY... this is by the same M. Night Shyamalan. I mean it wasn't perfect but holy hell did I love this movie. It did have a lot of Shyamalan points that drove me nuts. Child dialogue that doesn't sound like a child should say it. Child consoling parent instead of parent consoling child. Pointless panovers that make you want to nutpunch the camera guy. And my personal favorite, the psychiatrist not aware that the naked guy in his bathroom could have a weapon hidden even though he was naked (yeah that alone wasn't suspicious at ALL), and not incapacitating him while he was still seemingly harmless. I mean he broke into your fucking home! HELLO?! Here in hick country his ass would already be down with a few slugs in it!
But yeah other than that it was great, just great. The clues were so obvious and I even noticed a few, I'm kind of really upset with myself for not seeing the plot twist coming ahead of time. ::shocked::

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)
It's official; I'm no longer a Star Wars virgin. I have finally watched all six films in preparation for The Force Awakens which I eagerly await with my pre-ordered tickets. Revenge of the Sith is undoubtedly my favorite of the prequels and my second favorite overall, behind The Empire Strikes Back; I was surprised by how much they stepped up their game and ended the trilogy in a darker, more emotional way. In Revenge of the Sith, the Jedi Knights are spread out all over the galaxy leading a massive clone army against the Separatists. Obi-Wan Kenobi is sent to kill the leader of the Separatist Army, General Grievous. Meanwhile, Anakin Skywalker becomes closer to Chancellor Palpatine who is secretly a Sith Lord and eventually leads Anakin to yield to the dark side of the Force and become Darth Vader. Although Anakin's transition to the dark side was only foreshadowed in Attack of the Clones, it is a major theme in this movie and gives the film much more dramatic depth to explore. Watching his mind wawrp into that of an eventual Sith Lord is almost tragic in context with the rest of the trilogy, and it makes Episode III the most emotionally driven prequel. Hayden Christensen's acting is still questionable as ever, which I blame on poor writing. He has great facial expressions and body language, but the material he has to work with is dreadful at times. Even then, Revenge of the Sith is still a wholly satisfying and terrific ending to the prequel trilogy. From its memorable opening action sequence to the final scene showing Darth Vader's construction, Revenge of the Sith is a thrilling and impressive conclusion to the trilogy.

I LOVE the Sixth Sense!!!!!!! I am a M. Night fan but not of all his movies.
I've seen Signs and was not a fan. At all. When I saw he was responsible for Sixth Sense going in I was a tad afraid, but sweet Jesus am I glad I stuck it out. Fantastic movie, I want to see this turned into a horror comedy sitcom with the kid and his shrink putting spirits to rest like a buddy cop Ghost Whisperer, omfg that would be PRICELESS. ::big grin::

You might wanna check out a series called Deadbeat.
I think it's pretty good.
"That guy from Tucker & Dale VS Evil plays a lazy slacker, and a medium for hire, who attempts to solve various ghosts' unresolved issues, so that they can move on to a final resting place, occasionally with the help of his best friend and drug dealer, Roofie."

Just watched red letter review SWI, pt 1. It's pretty funny. Too be honest, I didn't consider how flat and shallow most of the characters are, but, yep.
Watch the whole thing. The conclusion is very funny.
9/10
Watch Red Letter Media's Plinkett reviews now and see how the movies fall apart. I have little use for Revenge of the Sith and it's just as bad as the rest of the prequel movies.
Glad you enjoyed them. Id order/rate them:
New Hope
Empire
Revenge of the Sith
Attack Clones
Phantom
Return Jedi
I would rank them probably in order of release for the original trilogy. I don't count the prequels at all. I can't watch any of them as Star Wars movies. Just as action bits. People have tried to cobble together edited versions of the prequels. But anyway you cut it they are still bad Star Wars movies that ignore things that happened in the original trilogy movies.

Star Wars 7.
Well, I feel like it evoked what I felt when watching the originals quite a bit better than any of the prequels managed to.
The storyline was decent, I was a little worried about the "new" bad guys just coming across as pointless etc but they actually made it work.
I quite hated the "villain" and their motivations though...we'll see...he will make you hate him.
The new generation of characters, surprisingly, I didn't mind at all.
Found the girl a touch wooden not too much though, and the guys did pretty well.
Look all in all it's not like it was a 4 or 5, but it was maybe between 4 and 6 someplace for me. Which is more that expected.
JJA has done well. I'd give it 7.5/10.
Feels like to me, Star Wars is back.
For those that have seen it, read the invisible bit under here...spoilery
I think Kylo Ren was actually a rebellion plant into the new order.
Yeah, he's done terrible things...but that could just be becoming swayed towards the dark, or also to sell his cover to the higher ups.
He displayed the ability to "read minds" or extract information, so it's not all that far fetched that he may have been able to telepathically communicate as well.
I think that scene with Solo where he at first told him
"I know what I need to do but I don't know if I'm strong enough, will you help me?" was completely genuine.
I think he either spoke into Solos mind, or perhaps he just "knew" what he was asking him to do.
People in the new order did seem to have their doubts about him right?
So he had to do something "big", and not just the ordered killing of randoms, something that will say "yep, he's the guy".
There was not much surprise, definitely no anger in Solos last moments...I mean I know, it's his son...but still.
Yes, Kylo attacks the girl too...but he is a pretty conflicted individual, and is still trying to prove himself to the higher ups...that and he did have issues with Solo taking her under his wing, I dare say some of that rage would have been true. Not to mention, she "knew" he was scared. She was potentially a threat to his cover if this was the case.
Then what happened at the end?
"It's time to take his training to the next level".
Fits in quite well with what the rebellion would want him to do...right?
That's my theory anyways.
They've Snaped him.

This is a few days late. I've been bad about posting reviews lately because I've been busy lately.
Krampus (2015)
2015 has been a fairly good year for horror in my eyes, and Krampus does at least a decent job in ending the year. It's the first Christmas-themed horror film in a long time, so it does give some variety for horror fans. Krampus is based on Germanic folklore of Santa's horned little helper who punishes the bad children on Christmas day. One boy has given up hope on Christmas when their obnoxious in-laws come to town. A freak snowstorm knocks out the power and barricades the family in their house. They have evoked the wrath of Krampus, who sends demonic toys and elves to terrorize the family. Fans of silly horror movies like Gremlins or Slither should find a lot to like in Krampus, although those looking for a good scare might be slightly disappointed. The movie takes a long time to really get to the good stuff, not really building any suspense but just watching banter among the family. However, it does allow all of the characters to be memorable and fleshed out. When Krampus' Minions finally do show up, the movie goes nuts. Practical and digital effects are used for the toys, making them look more real and creepy. A giant jack-in-the-box toy in particular is the stuff of nightmares. Krampus never gets particularly scary, but that's made up for by its silliness, memorable characters and fun plot. It should make a good annual Christmas viewing if you're not into Frosty the Snowman.

Point Break (2015)
I sincerely hope the original Point Break is much different than this lifeless, hippy-dippy, overblown Mountain Dew commercial. I've never seen the original movie, so I have no bias towards it. Based on the movie's own merit's, the Point Break remake is laughably awful. In Point Break, a rookie FBI agent tracks down a group of extreme athletes who go around the world carrying out crimes in unusual and life-threatening ways; they plan to do a series of near-impossible stunts called the Ozaki 8 in hopes of reaching spiritual enlightenment. At least, that was the plot for about ten minutes before the movie devolves into a series of party scenes and surprisingly dull extreme sports clips that could have been easily viewed on YouTube, all set to irritating club music. It takes a special director to make BASE jumping and cliff diving this boring. Ericson Core builds as little suspense as possible in his action set pieces and instead films admittedly well-shot highlights reels for the action scenes. Any sort of suspense conjured up is because of the great cinematography because the characters are so flat and annoying that you almost wish they would get killed off. Everyone in this movie acts stoned out of their mind. All they do is spit faux-philosophical nonsense which gets tiring after the first twenty minutes. It gets laughable towards the end of the movie with lines like "Ideas are strong. But not as strong as a whaling ship," and no amount of context will make that line any less ridiculous. The unbearable dialog, muddled plot and dull characters makes this Point Break remake utterly pointless. If you're not a fan of remakes, this will make you reach your breaking point.

This gave me a much needed laugh. I haven't seen the Jack Frost movie since I was a kid. After watching, my dad went outside & held up a plastic snowman decoration to my window, trying to scare me. Obviously plastic killer snowman still has a slightly deranged look to him.

Bone Tomahawk.
Funny. Atmospheric. Pretty solid performances all around. Engaging. Slow burn, but well worth the watch.
Some of the moving shots they did were really good too.
While some scenes were over the top, I found there was actually a lot of restraint shown here.
Richard Jenkins as Chicory...God damned if I knew it was him...he was a simple, but really likable character.
Dialogue shone.
Ended rather "so ok...we're done", but that's what it was, a story that was completed.
Hard pressed to give this one any less than an 8/10.

The Revenant (2015)
Loosely based on the life of 19th century frontiersman Hugh Glass, The Revenant is a brutal yet visually stunning western with one of Leonardo DiCaprio's best performances yet. The film follows Glass after he is mauled by a bear and left for dead by his fellow fur traders. One of the frontiersmen, John Fitzgerald, kills his son, and Glass voyages over 200 miles to exact revenge on him. The Revenant is one of the most violent movies I've seen from 2015, although the incredible scenery and cinematography also make it one of the most astonishing movies to look at. It combines some intense, difficult-to-watch scenes with amazing scenery which makes it one of the most beautiful violent films I've seen. Leo's committed and demanding performance is certainly one of the best of his career especially because of the lack of the dialog in the film. The 156-minute running time, relentless brutality and limited dialog does take a bit of a commitment to finish, but The Revenant is a masterfully directed film that makes the most of its subject matter's intriguing story.

Film students decide to do a project studying people watching 'reaction videos' So they are filming videos of people watching horrific videos to see their reaction. ::roll eyes::They try to hunt them down to see what they watched. Well all of them died. They start to look for this said video. They end up in an old cemetery and find the film. Anyway annoying FF in check, cool gore scenes when you could focus on it and a pissed off demon. I know we're only writing the 9th of January, but there's no doubt in my mind this will be one of the very worst movies I'll get to see this year. I strongly believe I absolutely hate Tina Fey as an actress after watching this Dumb & Dumber abortion. Both female actors tried so excruciatingly hard to be funny and every damn scene was just one comedy cliche after the other.
Sisters felt as if the director of The Solomon Brothers had made both movies simultaneously, but only paid attention to the Solomon project. Sisters is the leftovers, deleted scenes and throw-away material.

Nothing orginal here but being a foreign film, I dunno it seems to make common horror matters lovely and beautiful to watch. 5 friends all graduate from HS. They all get a text saying Dead in 3 days. They think nothing off it and continue partying and having a good time, then the killings start....not bad murders, some were tame but there is a fish tank kill that was awesome. I guess there is a Part 2. I may check it out.

Robert De Niro sticking his nose in everybody's bussiness eventually annoyed the hell out of me. And the last finger shaking about the husband cheating on his wife because she was a neglecting workaholic really pissed me off. It was basically De Niro saying that it doesn't matter if you're a workaholic wife who neglects your husband and daughter, it's never ok to cheat. I'd say that is exactly when it's the right time to cheat. Take care of your fucking family.

The Forest (2016)
Japan's Aokigahara "Suicide Forest" by itself is a creepy and gruesome place because of its reputation as one of the most notorious suicide spots in the world as well as its historic association with demons in Japanese mythology. Its inherently scary atmosphere is perfect for a good horror movie, but The Forest mostly squanders its promise by degrading it to a hot spot for cheap jump scares. The Forest stars Game of Thrones star Natalie Dormer in a dual role as twins Jess and Sara. Jess has disappeared into the forest, and Sara travels to Japan to go into the forest to look for her, unaware of the demons that lurk in the forest. The film has a pretty interesting premise and could have worked if executed correctly. 2014's As Above, So Below took an intrinsically creepy setting, the Paris catacombs, and used an unsettling atmosphere and good scares to make one of the better horror films of that year. The Forest does not use its setting to its advantage. Any atmosphere created by the forest is frittered away by a dull jump scare. Despite all the loud noises and sudden shocks, the scares are just boring. That could have been helped by a good story, but once Sara actually reaches the forest, the plot just sort of stops. The last half of the movie is just her running through the forest while demons pop out from behind the trees. It's not until the end that the plot decides to move forward any more, but by the time the big twist happens, you don't really care. The Forest has a committed performance from Natalie Dormer and glimmers of an interesting movie but mostly wastes them on predictable jump scares and a bland story.

People are making a movie. They make this guy carry the FF camera and film them torturing a call girl that he had visited or they will kill his wife. A lot of cool things were implied, like a beheading and a corpse fucking or a skull fuck but were never shown, just after the fact. No nudity at all. Dark and shaky cam most of the time. The set location was cool. An never ending abandon building with cool rooms and hallways. That captured my 4 rating.

This was utterly fantastic! I waited too long too see this. Well fuck me. The gory parts were awesome for sure. I just realized that this has a connection to Blood Junkie, one of my favorite films, no wonder. One of the directors of this film starred in Blood Junkie and the other directed it! I kept picking this film up at Disc Replay every time I'd visit. I'd put it down though. Fuck, always go with your gut instinct. ; ) Maybe its still there...

Yea, except... notice the hands and the angle of the club? Looks like the club is either broken or bend. Looks a bit amateurish actually. Other than that the poster is awsome. ::smile::

Different take on the story of The Departed.
Johnny Depp looked freakin' evil with his pale skin, blonde hair and blue eyes.
I'd love to see him play some kind of serial killer.

PULP FICTION (1994). Been a long time since I've seen this and while it is a great film, some scenes are way too long, way too many F bombs and Tarantion really can't act (Would liked to have seen Danny DeVito or Steve Buscemi in the role). Still many memorable scenes and ace performances by Samuel L Jackson, John travolta, Bruce Willis, Ving Rhames and Harvey Keitel. ***1/2

Buscemi would have been great in the role. I didn't mind Taranquento's role, but yea, it was just a little jarring - made me aware I was watching a film. I don't know if I'd say his acting was bad there or not. I believed he was that person, that character was pretty ambiguous; but I didn't get the feeling he would be a part of that criminal element, but then again, the film presents those guys that way.
What scenes did you find way too long?
