WHAT!! I'm a Brit and I know precisely why the attack happened. You really should get to know the real US and its real history/meanings.
But first you have to listen. Sit still and listen. Without interrupting.
Then you will have learned something.
I love you, MovieLover!
Obviously, it a long story. But sum it up briefly, as a beginning for further research. Who was behind 9/11, and why did the attack happen?

I think that an uncarved pumpkin keeps pretty well. Not an expert on the matter but I've bought pumpkins in September, and carved them in mid October and they were fine.
Thanks for the tip, Repo. I'll likely be doing some window shopping at the very least. Ooo and almost time to start lurking stores in the wee hours of the morning for Halloween goodies. So excited!

I'm in desperate need of some new lights. My purple strands that light up my room burnt out last year or so, and I've been using multi-color Christmas once since. >.<
So lazy about going to Wal*Mart though. I have no self control there and I'm never in town during the day when dollar stores are open. I'll have to find an excuse and make my way down sometime though.
(and with that it's my bedtime, MAYBE I'll be able to get on before work this time rather than after. pfft.)

Funny you should ask! I actually made it to a dollar store today and got a couple awesome strands! One is a battery operated light that has bats! Super cool! I'm going to work them into a lampshade or at least try. The second is a normal outlet strand, but half purple and half GREEN! I can't wait to hang them up and try them out. 8D

With population hugely increased since World War Two, put that with the rise of aggressive and narcissistic behaviours, you're more likely to die then survive if an economic crash happens.
By the way, the crash in the United States is coming. Its obvious.

Pessimistic! I'm exactly the opposite. I'm trying to do my bit and help others by informing them.
The only reason I'm saying negative things is because the truth is negative. This world has been created and run by people with a lot more money then we've got, and I 've got to say it, I' sick of playing their mind games.

I used to be pretty death rock for years. Dressing up for Halloween's so blah to me now. Trick 'r treating as a kid had a kind of mystical feel to it. Now its just a lot of people in mediocre costumes getting drunk at parties or dance clubs/bars. I am not saying that's wrong or right or what have you. Every Halloween I want to do something really unnerving, but not in a life risking way, but in a dark woods or abandoned factory seance kind of way. But alas, no one to try with.

Well that's something I'd watch for sure, but I could probably find a couple of movies like that from the folks at lifetime movie network. Specifically I would just like to see more father/daughter or even father/son story lines in general, in the horror genre. It's usually the mother that's being blamed, or the mother who is trying to save her child,The Babadook, The Exorcist, etc. Not always though, but a lot of the time. I just find this curious.

There's The Road, but I wouldn't say its explicitly horror. The film House has a father trying to save his son. In The Shining the father is the culprit though the mother does some saving. I haven't seen it, but there's also Maggie. The father caring for his daughter slowly becoming a zombie. The remake of Thirteen Ghosts has a father saving both son and daughter.

I do. But without much effort. I imagine for women its very exhausting. From what I hear/read hetero women get loads of messages every day and its hard to sift through them. As well as vulgar sexual suggestions, straight couples wanting another women in bed, and so on.
I stopped sending messages due to lack of responses. The ones I get are from people with very little in common. Sort of blase' about it now. The women I'm interested in are very very few. I've tried a few sites that target goths and those have little activity and mostly 'weekend warriors' or metal heads. Tried geek2geek too and it is also mostly dead.
I think most dating websites need to have an option for women to only receives messages from men they themselves have categorized as possibilities while they're looking at profiles.

Oh were you looking to discuss why and not looking for recommendations? Apologies if I misunderstood. As for why, I think that'd be very very hard. I would guess we'd need statistics to start. I fairly certain most directors are white men, but not if a director has kids, how they were raised as children, what their situation is like with their partner, etc.

Where are you located? Coffee Meets Bagel attempts to do that (you can only message each other if you "like" each other) but its model - a "Bagel a day" (I kid you not) makes it even more sloooooooooooooow.
Not to return to the "Simple Curiosity Pole," but how do you identify? I've historically checked off "Bi Female" but it seems to raise more questions than anything else so I've recently updated to "heteroflexible" (ugh - All because I just don't identify as straight - This is going to sound wishy washy but I had the labeling honestly).
I've found that when I first join sites, I get a flurry of messages (mostly poorly spelled with no grammar or just a "Hi how r u?" as opposed to filthy stuff - I almost prefer the filthy stuff sometimes because it's typically more inventive than "Hi i saw ur profile u seem neet wuts ur name do u have kik?") but tend to taper off (except Plenty of Fish which really just seems to hit the bottom of the barrel - Apologies in advance to my friends who met on there - oops - heh heh).
I've had the most luck with Tinder and OK Cupid. The former, well, I had to take care of some things (heh) and with the latter I find more of the quirky, nerdy guys that I tend to lean to. I have a subscription to Match, which I should cancel because I think the demographic is more for wholesome, vanilla, Christian folks looking to get married and have kids. Not me, nope.
Have you tried Reddit? It's been recommended to me because you get kinda clever weirdos... My issue though is that Yes I want a nerdy guy (tattoos and hipster glasses yes yes yes yes please) but they absolutely have to have their shit together, which surprisingly is harder to find than one would hope.
I had a pretty promising first and second date with a bloke I met last week - Seems nice and I'm desperately trying NOT to become a STAGE 5 CLINGER - Not that easy. I can be fairly intense when I meet someone, romantically or otherwise, and I'm starting to realize that that's not necessarily the best approach...

I do not think about my gender identification too much. I don't feel I'm a man or woman or androgynous. I recognize my body is male, I'm attracted to women, but that's about it. On websites I use man/male because it helps other people in identifying me as a gender/sex they're attracted to. I guess I identify as straight in regards to gender, but not sex. Shrug. Though I do find connection in a Propaghandi song lyric(forget which one) where the singer says "and I refuse to 'be a man." I definitely can relate people trying to enforce me to act a certain way according to sex.
I've found that when I first join sites, I get a flurry of messages (mostly poorly spelled with no grammar or just a "Hi how r u?" as opposed to filthy stuff - I almost prefer the filthy stuff sometimes because it's typically more inventive than "Hi i saw ur profile u seem neet wuts ur name do u have kik?") but tend to taper off (except Plenty of Fish which really just seems to hit the bottom of the barrel - Apologies in advance to my friends who met on there - oops - heh heh).

okcupid seems to be filled with mostly 'normal' folks. Its free, but mostly women i'm not interested in. Some are very attractive, but not much in common. I've never been interested in any of the sites for casual sex. I want emotional/thought and other stuff before having sex with someone. Not a judgement on you, or that a judgement is valid anyway.

Yeah, I totally get that. I'm not offended at all. And where I am now, I'm definitely looking for something more meaningful. I never thought I'd be interested in Tinder-ing (and my friends either make fun of me or just awkwardly look away when I mention it - hahaha) but my situation was that a super long-term relationship ended in March and I went through a bit of a dry spell, moved to a new place and downloaded the app in June. It was good for what I needed at the time but I don't use it anymore.

I avoid having relationships altogether. Being single, I've found out lots about myself, information I wouldn't have learned if I was in a relationship.
Why? Because I'd be too busy trying to work out what the hell she needs. And then it leads to imprisonment - children and marriage.
I won't allow myself to be manipulated by any women, even if she's drop dead gorgeous.
Nowadays, lots of people prefer the single life and those that do get married, many decide to keep their money separate, sometimes secreted from their other.

There is one way to stop child prostitution forever: to take away the demand for that sort of thing. The people committing such acts need help and support to overcome those kinds of needs. I'm saying that society needs to work alongside them instead of using threatening and violent putdowns.

By the way, those contactless cards (which I refuse to have myself), to protect them from being broken into, experts told people to wrap them in tin foil when they carry them.
So, it seems that the whole tin-foil hat thing, which people use to mock people like myself, actually works!
Also, I was watching a documentary months ago about shoplifting and it stated a tin-foil lined bag that contained stolen gear will pass easily through the detectors unnoticed.

I know it's Halloween and all... but don't you think that's a really twisted way of seeing the whole issue of Law Enforcement?
Insurance agents wanting death & destruction, soldiers wanting war, firefighters wanting fires, etc... you know, maybe life is inherently dangerous and people imperfect, and most people want to help protect, save and help restore others who are in danger or have had a lose. You know, half full... ::wink::

Trying to find the thread that had a recent post. Wish I could remember the member who posted, or even the name of the movie they referenced. It was an early 80's Italian horror. Whoever posted it said it was made for fans of Italian horror and there was a pic of a movie poster attached. I swear it went up today or late yesterday. Anybody? I really liked what the post had to say about the movie and need to add it to my " must see" list.

That's pretty much what Trump is. He is just a spoiled rich asshole that thinks since he is a successful businessman he can run a country but all he wants to do as president, or so he says, is get rid of immigrants. If he did that all that would be left are the native Americans considering we are all immigrants.

As I don't vote, people say to me that I don't have a right to complain. I then say that I shouldn't pay my taxes. They oppose this by saying I still have to pay my taxes.
To whom? Remember, I don't vote, so in effect, nobody represents me.
Now we come to the same situation in which Americans fought the Revolution!

I have always heard that same thing about not being allowed to complain. This is our country isn't it? The presidential election of 2000 proved that votes don't mean shit when you have money and power. As of right now I have no plans on voting again. Even if any further elections I vote in aren't a sham, it comes down to whoever wins will just be a douche or a turd like the south park episode says. Our country has now moved from a joke to a dangerous threat when we have countries like Russia now becoming angry with us and as far as I know China is much closer with Russia than with us so if thy turn against us too we are all fucked.

That's actually easy for me. Being an older chap, I was raised waiting a week or more for the next episode. Still doesn't bother me. What I do find unreal is that, in order to watch my favorite movies, I used to have to wait until the local stations would air them. Prior to the home video era, we fans would scour the TV guide each week and hope to see King Kong or Psycho in the listings. Today, I can't believe there was a time when I couldn't just toss a Texas Chainsaw Massacre disc in the player.

I grew up fairly old school. Only 3 channels and my favorite shows were usually on TV and meant waiting a week for new episodes. I remember recording them on VHS to rewatch several times to curb my excitement for the next new episode during the week. Nowadays though I just let the show air and after enough episodes are released I binge watch them when I feel like it. I don't have the rabid fangirl love for shows like I used too.

I prefer to watch some shows that way. Shows like Game of Thrones and Walking Dead don't lend themselves to binge watching for me because I like to talk about the show with people, go over theories of why something happened or may happen, and I enjoy the building anticipation of the upcoming episode.
