Return to Nuke 'em high Volume 1 should be showing up in the mail tomorrow.
Looking forward to seeing that one. The previous sequels were terrible but I'm hoping it's as good as Citizen Toxie.

Saw it in the teaters a couple days ago, pretty good. Def better than Poultrygeist but not as good as Citizen Toxie. Lemmy was in it (:

What is going on in the one on the left. ::big grin:: The kind of film that used to be an impulse rent when we still had video rental stores...

i loved everything about Stillers version.
I liked his performance too … he got stuck in a rut of sameness for a long time - he needed to strip it all down to the wood and start again..

I am surprised you got it so cheap. Did you order it used or something? I know a number of people were disappointed by this movie, but I, for one, was not. I saw it in the theater and really enjoyed it.

No, it's not a used copy. When I added it to my wish list, it was $19.99.

I haven't picked these up yet. But I've been watching Halloween 3 a lot and thought what happened to all those masks? Turns out a company called Trick or Treat studios is making them. This is the pumpkin mask.

I'll never put it on, but I'll have it around. Movie scared me to death when I was a kid.
I also found a Trick r Treat Sam action figure from a company called ReAction that's coming out. They make Alien and other vintage movie figures. I searched around a bit and saw a Sam figure from Sideshow Collectibles. I wasn't a big fan of the movie but I thought the character was the best part. He might make a good Halloween display with that Halloween 3 mask.

That Sideshow Collectibles Sam figure was cheap when it was released. Only $60. But he's sold out now and goes for hundreds on eBay. They made 5,000 of him too. I think they were released before the movie and since it was delayed people didn't get the figure. But afterwards it was popular and now the price increased. Here's a review.

Also, I don't know if these are hot or scary. If I got them I can imagine having dreams of hot girls who then turn into female versions of Jason and Freddy, which is not good.

If it's the 2 disc version that's a little cheaper than buying directly off the company.... http://www.unearthedfilms.com/store.htm
It's worth a look if you're ok with the more extreme side of things as some of it's pretty nasty.

I figured if they ever get around to releasing it on Blu-ray separately it might be a double with Friday the 13th Part 9, which I don't need. I was going to wait and get the recent set cheap but it wasn't happening fast enough. Maybe I'll upgrade to Blu-ray one day. Right now I'm satisfied with my DVDs since the Blu-ray of Part 6 is with the green color I don't like.

It has been quite a while since I posted a horror movie collection update. Honestly, I slacked off for a while due to focusing on other interests of mine. Most of the horror films that I have purchased since the last update were purchased in the last month. Usually, my parents give me a couple hundred dollars for my birthday, so I might do a spree next month (I won't know until then, though I seem to be moving into horror now, so there is a good chance this will end up occurring). Anyway, here are the horror films I purchased since the last update:
Note: DVD replacement means I had the film on VHS, but decided to replace it on DVD.
Anatomy (2000)
Black Swan (2010)
The Blob (1988) (DVD Replacement)
Critters 4-Pack including Critters (1986), Critters 2: The Main Course (1988), Critters 3 (1991), Critters 4 (1992)
Frankenfish (2004)
Hellbound: Hellraiser II (1988) (DVD Replacement)
Jennifer’s Body (2009)
Jesse James Meets Frankenstein’s Daughter (1966) (DVD Replacement)
Land of the Dead (2005)
Leprechaun 4-Pack including Leprechaun (1993), Leprechaun 2 (1994), Leprechaun 3 (1995), and Leprchaun 4: In Space (1997)
Opera (1987)
Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones (2013)
The Pumpkin Karver (2006)
The Purge (2013)
Tremors Collector’s Edition (1990) (DVD Replacement)
When a Stranger Call (2006)
Some non-horror films that I purchased include:
American Hustle (2013)
Gravity (2013)
Saving Mr. Banks (2013)
A Time to Kill (1996)
Wolf of Wall Street (2013)
Sutter Cane

DVD
http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i23/manXorderXbride/Mobile%20Uploads/image-106.jpg
The top row is the ones that are hard to find. I also got Campfire Tales. Whoo-hoo! I'm so happy I finally got 'em in my movie collection! They're wonderful additions. I haven't seen Dagon or Critters yet. I hope they're worth it. Tales from the Hood and Gremlins were originally in snapcase packaging which I hate with a fiery passion so as you can see in picture above, I have turned them into keepcase. (I do that with the rest of my snapcase DVDs.)
Blu-Ray
http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i23/manXorderXbride/Mobile%20Uploads/image-107.jpg
The top row are from Scream Factory. I've got all I wanted from them for now. I'm currently waiting for them to release Nightbreed, Ginger Snaps, Pumpkinhead, and Motel Hell. I'm hoping the new Ginger Snaps release will have either subtitles or CC because none of other releases have them.

Nice pickups- Scanners, Magic, War of the Worlds 53 and The Invisible Ray (I want to see this one). These have any cool extra features like 'the making of', or audio commentaries?
I believe the War of the Worlds film comes with a commentary, not sure what, if anything, else it includes.
Magic includes Fats and Friends" featurette, Interview with Anthony Hopkins, Interview with cinematographer Victor J. Kemper, A.S.C., Archival Anthony Hopkins radio interview, Ann-Margret make-up test, Still gallery, Theatrical trailers, TV spots, and Radio spots according to Amazon.
The Invisible Ray was one of five films on a Bela Lugosi pack. As a result, it really does not include any special features (except MAYBE a trailer, I would have to check to be sure).
I do not believe Scanners includes any special features except maybe the original trailer. I recently found out that Criterion will be releasing their edition next month. While that version will not include any commentaries, from what I understand, it will include New, restored 2K digital film transfer, supervised by director David Cronenberg, with uncompressed monaural soundtrack on the Blu-ray; The “Scanners” Way, new documentary on the film’s special effects, featuring interviews with Cronenberg’s collaborators; Mental Saboteur, a new interview with actor Michael Ironside; The Ephemerol Diaries, a 2012 interview with actor and artist Stephen Lack; Excerpt from a 1981 interview with Cronenberg on the CBC’s The Bob McLean Show; New, restored 2K digital transfer of Stereo (1969), Cronenberg’s first feature film; Trailer and radio spots; and an essay by critic Kim Newman. So, there is a good chance I will be buying the film again through Criterion to gain access to all of these special features.

The extras on Magic, and the Criterion Scanners looks very cool!

This will be my first William Lustig film. After reading Stephen King's comments about it in his DANSE MACABRE I'm really looking forward to it. Anyone know if the remake is worth watching?
With the horror collection I'm finally able to complete my Phantasm series. Could have gotten the film by itself for $7.50 but decided to get it this way for $6.66 (yes, 666) and get a few extra films to boot. By the way, anyone check out the prices of the other three lately at Amazon? They done gone crazy!

STRAW DOGS, unrated extended version, was graded a "skuf disc" and so was half the usual $8.50 price at the local used video store. Didn't buy THE SPAGHETTI WEST right off as I wasn't sure a 56 minute documentary was worth the price of a regular movie. Later in the day I decided it was but before I went back to get it I checked Amazon to see if they had a cheap copy. And they did: $99 for the cheapest. Next time I should just follow my gut.

Brings back good memories. I swear I watched every Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Sword & Sorcery type movie that came out growing up in the 80's. I actually really enjoy watching those kinds of B-movies now though.
I haven't watched the Blu-Ray yet. I watched the DVD a year or two ago and remember finding it maybe a little slow in spots, but otherwise still fun and entertaining. Hoping to sit down with the Blu-Ray and re-watch it this weekend.

Flash Gordon is still one of my absolute favs. I bought that on Blu-Ray when it first got released. It's a perfect B-movie. It's got the perfect balance between of action, adventure and cheese. The Queen soundtrack is just an added bonus for me as well.
I've got Clash Of The Titans, The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth on Blu-Ray as well. Honestly I love them all. Clash is a classic and just a great B-movie. I still love the stop motion animation. I'd rather watch it than modern CG any day of the week. Dark Crystal is just so "dark". I'm surprised I was allowed to watch it as a kid. That's one of those movies that you don't really understand until you watch it as an adult. Labyrinth, well two words sum that one up for me...David Bowie...lol. His wig and his outfit alone make that movie worth watching over and over again, but those songs are just so catchy you can't help but get them stuck in your head no matter how cheesy they are. And of course who wouldn't have wanted Jennifer Connelly as a babysitter. ::wink::

All on Blu-Ray, that's cool!! I lost count how many times I watched Clash when it first came out, wish I could get pass the cheese to still enjoy it. You're right, Dark Crystal is a 'dark' movie and there were a few parts that kind of creeped me out as a kid. It's such a cool movie though!! Yes, David Bowie is awesome!! NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD:30th ANNIVERSARY EDITION (1998). Love the original NIGHT and curiosity compelled me to check this out, despite the many scathing (and that's being polite) reviews I heard about. Well, not totally bad, but sort of pointless. The new scenes added are OK, but DON'T TAKE OUT THE ORIGINAL SOURCE MATERIAL TO PUT IN NEW FOOTAGE::mad::. New musical score would work in another film, but not here and the composer takes an acting turn and it's one of the hammiest turns I've ever watched.
On the plus side, until the Millenium/40th Anniversary titles came out, probably the best the film ever looked with a nice clean print. But this just reeks of making a buck and is really not necessary, sort of like the colorized version.
A perfect example of "If it ain't Broke, don't fix it". **1/2

I'm a sucker for nostalgia what can I say. I also prefer originals to remakes, suits and make up effects over CGI, and old horror films rather than new horror films. Not saying I won't give newer things a try. I do like some newer horror films, own DVDs, and CGI can work if used sparingly. I'm complicated like that. ^^;
My dad got me into the habit of collecting DVDs to replace tapes, but I don't know. I still like keeping tapes if they're of something I really really enjoy or if they're hard to find on DVD. Not to mention when you can get a movie for less than $1 rather than $5 or more, it's a no brainer if you have and know how to run a VCR. ::smile::

As you may or may not know, I LOVE Tim Burton movies!! This was something different and actually based on a true story. I really enjoyed the story, acting, and atmosphere. I thought it was really sad what the guy did to the girl in the movie...don't want to give out spoilers. It reminded me of Big Fish in many ways, minus the CG and Disney style effects.
I actually had quite a few of the Big Eye prints when I was a kid, don't know what happened to them. I like to suggest to people to always rent a movie before they buy it.
Good grief not even Goodwill sells that cheap! What's your secret, tf?
Family Video. They have amazing prices, especially if they had a ton of certain titles. For starters, go straight to the nearly new section and check out the blu-rays you can get 2 for $5 and regular dvds 2 for $3. You don't have to have an account just to buy their movies either. They give you 30 days to check the movies for any defects and they will replace it for you if there are any problems. I've been buying their movies for years, most of my collection is from them.
Familyvideo.com has awesome prices too, especially if you sign up an email account with them. I recently got some newer releases for $3 a piece. Any size order is just a $1.99 shipping fee which is decent in my opinion.
Walmart also has two excellent choices now: a $5 bin and a $3.74 bin.

I actually had quite a few of the Big Eye prints when I was a kid, don't know what happened to them. I like to suggest to people to always rent a movie before they buy it.
I didn't know you were a big Burton fan, but now I know we have that in common. His work ( almost ) never disappoints me. From what I've seen and heard about Big Eyes, your thoughts included, I'm going to take a safe gamble and buy a copy.

Oh I love Big Fish! Great story and the ending just kills me every time. (And I'm sure you can imagine what about it specifically got my attention lol)
For some reason I have yet to add it to my collection, but I about stole it from a cousin or someone that I borrowed it from cause I didn't want to give it back. ::big grin::
Thanks for the tip! I'll check them out. Don't think we have any nearby though sadly. If I'm lucky I find some good finds at dollar stores (Trick 'R' Treat being my most recent for only a buck), so that'll have to do.

Oh the ranting I could do on Burton. He's one of the few people to break my heart when it comes to franchises. He created one of my favorite movies of all time (Batman 1989), and many other timeless classics in my collection. Then he went and desecrated one of my favorite series (Dark Shadows) by making it into a movie. There will be no forgiveness for that. His latest works have just been atrocious as of late. He needs to retire while fans still have any respect for him.

Maybe he's like Stephen King, everybody's afraid to tell him you've been awful for over a decade, no matter how long your books are. And then there's his re-edits republished. Maybe Burton will start remaking his own films....

Already has, sort of. The Frankenweenie short film went full length a few decades later. I love both versions a bunch.

I had a mild obsession with Quentin Collins when I was in college so I was a little too enthusiastic to add this to my collection (and hopefully my werewolf collection if it has the right episodes included!).
No more watching Hellraiser online for me! ...Well except the first two. S'alright though I'll have them eventually. It's almost the season after all...
Also missing Revelations but that's more than okay.

No disrespect to you of course, tf. I do respect Burton and King for the classics if anything. A lot of thought and talent went into those.

Completely unintentional I assure you, but thank you! ::big grin::
My nails are actually shorter than usual, or shorter than I'd normally let them be anyway. My job doesn't get along with them being any longer so I have to keep them semi-short. Ever since high school though (if I can help it) I wear them long. Freaks people out but I like it.

Pay day so my fingers slipped and I may have added to my collection again. Three more Werewolf By Night comics, Frankenstein's Army because I can't take it i need my own copy dammit, and a mini poster of Mosquito from before mentioned film. Oh and some bone skull beads because I like to make stuff.
