Pokemon Snap for the Nintendo 64
i picked up the box and a couple of games from a junk shop for my kid .. and he freaking loves it ..
(i have to admit i kind of like it myself)
the point of the game is that you're onan island taking photos of pokemon .. the better the picture the more points you get .. and there are little tricks and things to get them to pose or get closer to you ..
it's pretty cool - it basically teaches photography to kids .. how to frame your picture, get interesting poses, etc ...
one of the smarter games i've seen .. at least as a very well disguised learning tool ..

I agree that he´s good and very promising. But he isn´t fast enough or good enough with the puck right now for me to keep with that kind of salary.
Right now i´ve got my eye on the Right wing IVAN NOVOSELTSEV. He seems pretty talented.... And young.
Okay in the defence.
1 line: Scott Niedermayer & Rafalski.
2: Tverdovsky & Zubov.:
Oh, and i finally got my hands in the young defence Bouwmeester last night. That was a big hit.

Rick Nash isn't good enough?????????????????
Slight difference in opinion I guess.(between you and the rest of the world)
Novoseltsev has potential but he's a 26 year old rookie so I don't know how much he'll be able to develop. You'd do better with Scott Gomez, he's also 26 but he's been in the league for 6 years already and is fast as hell and pretty damn good.
Nice defense, looks like you're into the speed guys, I usually get hitters for my first line defenders though.

Sorry, i didn´t mean Novoseltsev, i meant to say KOVALCHUK. He´s Excellent.
And you were right. Nash turned out to be outstanding in the next season. After i sold him. DOOOOOOH!!!!:(
I fired Scott Gomez. Wasn´t good or fast enough. I also fired Modano and Elias. Too expensive.
Now i only have young people in my offensive lines, except for Mogilny, Bondra.
And yes, i´m definitely into speed. ;)

I'm guessing you're playing with the Devils since you've named about 5 or 6 of 'em.
Kovalchuk is a good player, he was the first pick in the draft in '01 or '02.
Just my opinion but it kinda sounds like you're trying to hard, I mean come on...Rick Nash and Scott Gomez aren't good enough? And with all the different names you're throwing out you've gotta be making too many moves.
Who's your goalie?

I want it all,

And yes, my goalkeeper is Brodeur.

01-31-2006, 06:32 AM
You have to balance it out...
-get a couple of big money stars(Nash,Elias,Iginla ect.)
-3 or 4 all round,moderate salary, solid players(Gomez,LeClair,Rafalski ect.)
-Then you pick up role players...couple of good, fast skaters/couple of big checkers/couple of good shooters and you always have to have some grinders.
What do ya mean you don't know how to use the draft picks?
Angra
01-31-2006, 06:46 AM
I mean, at the end of every season you get to pick 5 skaters. But were the hell are they when the next season begins? How do you get them on your team?

You scratch an active player and replace 'em with the rookie.
You do sign them after you draft them right?

I finally finished Fatal Frame (again) so I decided to start playing the sequel. Yeah, I'm behind the times. Anyway, so far the atmosphere is spot on, and even in the first hour of the game there were a few good scares. The ghost battles, however, seem to be a touch easier than in the original. Granted, that was a hard game overall, so it may just seem easier in comparison.

I'm not sure, but I think I played fatal frame, under a different name on dreamcast...seemed pretty good, never got into it though.
There were a lot of good horror/scary games on the ol' DC.
Right now I'm playing Land of the dead: road to fiddlers green.
Quite good...a little intense at times, especially when stoned.
This games shakes me up, for real...the atmosphere, the score, the ambient sounds...all done very well.
I hope the benchmark for zombie games is set here...and I can't WAIT for the collaborative effort of romero and savini in "city of the dead", buying ASAFP.

Oh man... I've got lots of fond memories of that one. I remember staying up all night with my buddies trying to get to the last level. The control system and feel of the first were gone, the camera angles weren't great, the combat and storyline were unneccessarily complex compared with the first...and I guess part of what I liked about the first was the simplicity...I dunno, it just seemed geeked up this time around, andreminded me a lot of warcraft 3.
Great LOOKING game, but not for me.
Turned it off before not too long.
Maybe I'll try the expansion pack of part 1....

What do you guys think....I'm gonna get a ps2 (Yeah, I know how behind I am, I'm still chillin' with my psone and dreamcast)...Anyways, I'll be getting the slimline model which comes through a local EB retailer pretty affordably with a few games, yknow....your standard package.
Now, I always figured I'd get it chipped...but, now it seems like on the release of the x360 and upcoming release of the ps3...I don't know if there's a point.
Seems to me the originals are now available second hand, and even new at pretty damn low prices...sure, now AS low as the prices I can personally get on copied games, but I've heard modding severely effects the lifespan of the unit, especially the ps2...so, what do you reckon...is it worth having it modded, or should I just deal with having "cheap but not as cheap" ps2 originals?

When I got another PS2 I got the service plane from Best Buy because when the PS3 comes out I can actually return my PS2 and put the money I spent on it toward the PS3. Interesting little policy...
Anyway, I've never been into copied movies or games... I like owning the originals and while it costs more money I actually have a collection. ONLY reason I would get a modded PS2 is so I can play imports easier.

I'm still playing Ghost Recon:Advanced Warfighter...
There's a gun with a camera on top with which you can see and shoot around a corner while staying covered...
There's a sniper rifle that can shoot through a thin wall of cover from over a hundred yards away...
There are very effective smoke grenades that gives you about a minute or so of thick cover and maneuverability...
Quite often you have three squad members, tanks and black hawks at your disposal...
With all that I just listed this is still probably the hardest fucking game I've ever played, great but fucking hard.

Painkiller (pc)...fun, nice dark scenery, cool music, excellent physics, not brilliant, but a good play.
Fehrenheit (aka Indigo Prophecy, PS2)...Different, dark, remarkable plotline, unusual gameplay techniques, very cinematic but doesn't cost the gameplay a thing. I'd reccomend this for anyone looking for an in depth storyline, and something that hasn't really been done before.

Ok...I'm past the "taken aback" stage now. I likeD the innovative "make decisions that effect the outcome of the game" idea, and the using of the analogue sticks to manipulate things in the game in various ways, I LOVED the storyline, the music, the weather effects, and the whole "feel" but when it came to the "action" sequences, it did piss me off...namely because rather than watching the action, you got to watch little buttons...you don't really get to concentrate on what's going on onscreen without fucking up your pattern. Now, I don't mind SOME sequences like this (eg - die hard arcade/dynamite cop), but I would've liked a more "hands on" approach to the majority of them...especially if it came to combat scenes...but, I'll never know that because due to lack of variety in terms of these "action sequences", and that I could barely even get to look at the action taking place, well, I took it back.
It's a game that really COULD HAVE been great.
So, now I'm stuck with finishing painkiller off, getting into "jak and daxter", playing god of war on "god mode"...and whatever I end up exchanging the absolutely BORING "10,000 Bullets" with at EB.
Of course...I have a HUGE range of games in boxes 'n stuff, I could pry into that whenever...

Xbox huh? So pc really is the only format for the fps to have near-precise controls. It's funny, dreamcast had an excellent layout for the fps games (kiss psycho circus, unreal tournament, soldier of fortune, to name a few) it had, and it was customisable beyond just changing around a few buttons. Even playstation 1 was good for quake 2, with both systems, I could control with pc-like proficiency, in fact I think the dreamcast I could control even better...but yeah, seems like xbox and ps2 controls either work for some people, or they don't.
I'm playing "prince of persia - sands of time", which admittedly is better on console in terms of controls, but I'm having no big problems...I like this one, and if you look at it one way, it
s almost a remake of the original, I mean...I can't remember the original having a storyline, but it seemed like you were in a fucked up castle, and you fought what LOOKED like guards, so it seems fair to assume you were part of an attacking party, I dunno...anyways, it's a cool game...
Also - Warcraft 2 + Expansion.

As I said...since I had my recent experience with the ps2 piss me off, I got rid of it (although I'll probably buy one again in the future, I'm never quite up to date on consoles), and I've been focussing on the dreamcast.
Been downloading and ordering some games.
Currently, still involved in a game of "record of lodoss war" which, again, is just a fucking awesome action/rpg experience.
Also started playing "alone in the dark - new nightmare" which is irritating like all survival horror games in terms of running back and forth, finding keys, all that shit...but other than that, it's pretty solid, nice deep storyline, and the visuals/mindfucks are a nice mixture of resident evil/silent hill. The atmosphere and ambient noises are great, and yeah...enjoying it.
Got "Mr Driller" which is just rather simple and irritating to me, so that'll probably remain unused.
Also, just downloaded "cosmic smash" which is one of the strangest looking games I've played...it's like a fusion of table tennis, tron, and tetris, not a GREAT singleplayer game, but I think it'll be a fun 2player romp...here, have a look:

You know you're in for a pretty deep game after sitting through a 10-15 minute intro...
This one and #2 should have me occupied for some time.
Only played #2 and I really enjoyed, nice slow pace and not just mindless shoot the crap out of anything that moves. A refreshing change.

Hey, I'm playing this too! Pretty damn cool so far, I'd say. Innsmouth is exactly how I'd always envisioned it. I can't wait to see a shoggoth...

Hell yeah!!! The ambience it's great. But I'm not great on shot 'em games so I'm blocked on one mission (the last part of Jailbreack, when Jack is on a truck). The game intro is great, when you open the portal and the yithians apears....I love the tale "The shadow out of time"

Good game, there's only one problem: as a shoot em, is nothing special, whatever other game of this kind is more effective. But the ambience, the animations and the plot are great.

Lately I have been getting into Battlefield 2 online on the PC. Cool game. A clear improvement over the previous Battlefield games (although nothing mindblowingly new).
Also, on the DS Lite, Mariokart DS, and Brain Training. Both lots of fun. The DS is an excellent hand held console.

I'm playing Fable right now. I know that this game got ragged on a lot, but I'm really enjoying it so far. I just love how the villagers cower in fear and run away when I roll into town. Comedy gold.

Sonic adventure 1 (which is kind of like a dreamcast prequel to "sonic heroes" which was originally sonic adventure 2 on dc)
First time I've ever spent the time to play this game for more than 5 minutes...it's not BAD, but a little dissapointing, I personally thought this series suffered when taken into the 3d realm. None of the feel of the originals, but I suppose it's a little fun. Could be better though, there's some annoying issues, mainly cam-angle related.
REZ, also on DC.
This game gets right upside my head...I find I can't play it for longer than a stage without feeling like I'm about to fall into the screen.
"Just Cause" demo.........kinda like GTA on steroids.Imagine,if you will, parachuting from a helicopter, landing on top of a moving vehicle, jumping into the vehicle and taking the wheel, driving like hell, jumping out the side window onto the roof of the vehicle you were just driving, opening your parachute/parasail and jumping off roof, taking off into the sky guns blazing, gliding down and taking control of a boat......jumping off boat and swimming to the bottom past all sorts of fishes...........and this is just the demo.

Been trying to get into an rpg on DC called "Elemental Gimmick Gear", quite different to a lot of rpgs I've played, it's a little like wild arms?
Seems ok so far.
Hooked up the ole nintendo to a spare TV....been playing "Star Tropics".....i'm surprised I could get hooked on an 8 bit game again.

Looks like a zelda style rpg-ish game?
How does it play?
I haven't seen it on my roms lists, but then again, they ARE stupidly huge...
If anyone wants games, theyre tiny, they could be emailed...;)

Yeah, I played it the other day on an emu running on dreamcast...it's not bad, but I thought it would be more rpg than puzzle/exploration...seems ok so far though, but not on my immediate "to play" list. I noticed a sequel also on the list.
Half-life 2: Episode 1
When I get a better pc, I'll probably try this one.
I've been playing shenmue 2.
It's ok I suppose but thus far (disk 2 of 4), I don't like it as much as the original, there seems to be WAAAAY too much fucking around and waiting involved in this one. Could get better though, and I still like the ongoing storyline...we'll see.
