For those of you on the lookout for fall brews, Sam Adams has a case out with a bunch of different fall related brews (including Octoberfest and Pumpkin Ale). Magic Hat has also released their Octoberfest brew.

I'm not really a beer man - lagers and bitters taste like soapy water to me. What I DO like, however, is a good stout ale. Recently fallen in love with Murphy's.

Someone once bought me a 24 variety pack of Mikes for my birthday and while that sounds pretty awesome, it was pretty much drinking hell. I ended up having to drink the entire 24 pack on my own over the course of a week and because it was flavored, it started to just taste rank instead of fruity and my taste buds got so sick from it that I couldn't drink Mikes for about 2-3 years. Now I'll have 2-3 every once in a while if it's at a party but other than that, I can't touch it.

One gem and one I'm not sure about?
Mythos - it's a Greek beer and smooth as can be with a beer taste and not a Budweiser or Coors cheap taste. Found it at a Greek Orthodox festive. It's a lager and AWSOME!
It's a blueberry ale kinda beery with an English bulldog kicking a blueberry. First time I tried it I thought I was drinking a blueberry pancake and the second time I thought I was drinking a cheap nasty beer on clearance.

Yes, I certainly took a tour of the Yuengling brewery. In the beer tastings, I really liked the Yuengling Porter. It has a rich taste, not bitter, and a right touch of beer sweetness.

It's very complex, more on the bitter side with a hint of sweetness on the finish. Incredible brew, though. And more on the cheap side, strangely enough. I'm not sure what the regional distribution is like, but if you can find it, definitely grab some.

I had read some bad things about their peanut butter chocolate ale but some amazing reviews on the maple bacon so I had to give it a shot and... it wasn't bad. A great desert beer with a lot of sweetness and a bit of a salty finish that drinks well after a meal. It's almost like a light stout, I dug it.

Strongbow is ok, but really I like to look for a good import cider as Strongbow, Woodchuck, and Angry Orchard are all too sweet. Although a Black and Tan (I think they call it Black Silk or something, I don't remember) with 1/2 Angry Orchard and 1/2 Guinness Stout... delicious.

I've been trying a lot of cider recently too!! I've been trying to find the perfect balance between the sweeter ciders like Woodchuck and Angry Orchard and the dryer ciders like Crispin. This is really good middle ground!
I haven't tried Redd's but I'll steer clear - Let me know if you find one you'd recommend!

Apples and maple sugar actually. Usually I find dessert wines too sweet, but this one is just lovely. Here's the description from the site:
The classic taste of Vermont captured in wine
For over half a century the Boyden family has honored Vermont’s spring tradition of maple sugaring. Now we are pioneering a new tradition: crafting that maple sugar into an amazing dessert wine, Gold Leaf. Barrel-aged for two years in Tonnelier French Oak barrels, Gold Leaf possesses great depth and complexity combining supreme estate maple syrup and locally grown apples. As an aperitif or after-dinner wine, it has an exquisite mouth feel and delicate yet pronounced maple flavor with overtones of vanilla, toasted nuts and coconut. Gold leaf is at its best served over ice, paired with apple crisp, Cinnamon cheesecake, vanilla crème brulee.

I like Absinthe a lot! Tastes like Anise or Black Licorice kinda...I mix it alotta Absinthe, a little water a little ice no sugar.....after a few rounds or so I mix more water less Absinthe...My experience is that is does have psychotropic effects::cool::and it also has a high alcohol%::smile::Good Stuff!

I remember the time when I was only four, my mom and dad were having a party and they ran out of beer so they went to get some more. they left a bottle on the table and I saw it. I thought that it was soda so I took a big gulp, and it took me half an hour to wash the bad taste out of my mouth.
BLEAH!

I was into wine for a while, now whiskey which is bloody expensive!
Jake.Ashworth
03-23-2015, 02:56 AM
That depends on your taste in Whiskey. I love cheap whiskey, for some reason there is something a little more raw about it. Im also not a "drinker" so I can own a bottle of whiskey for a year before its empty. But nothing calms the nerves like a little over rocks and a good scary movie.
