What can I drink that will get me drunk fast but not too terribly sick?

Oh, Jen. I'm so so sorry to hear that as well. I can't even imagine.

If you're planning on getting drunk, there's really nothing that will definitely not make you feel sick; everyone's different when it comes to that. Whatever you drink, do it at home or at least someplace that you can just stay put. Be careful.

Founder's Breakfast Stout

http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nXTU8U2MRaQ/RYlsjS5X4GI/AAAAAAAAADQ/JeWLwk0tNSA/s320/Founders_Breakfast_Stout.jpg

The bottom of the label calls this a "double chocolate coffee oatmeal stout", and yeah...it smells just like a fresh cup of coffee. Motor oil dark, thick, and heavy body; drinks like a meal, for sure.
Absolutely delicious.

Newb, I'm not sure how dark you like your beers, but I highly, highly recommend this brew (and anyone else, too).

Sounds like my type of drink, where is it made...

I've got a new faveorite ale house, it's called the Bon Acord, they have a huge range of guest ales which change frequently. I dropped in on Friday night and had a Kacker, brewed here in Glasgow it is a dark ale with a bitter taste, wieghing in at 6%... Also had my self an Old Peculiar...

It's brewed here in the States, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I'm not sure what their distribution is like, but it looks like they're developing a "beer finder" tool on their website:

http://www.foundersbrewing.com/beer_finder.php

I hope you can find some around you.

Ah, that sounds like a great place. Unfortunately I don't really have any great brewpubs or ale houses or anything like that close to me. There is an excellent brewpub about an hour and a half away from me called the Heorot. Great Belgian and Midwestern US draft selection, with about 400 bottled brews as well.

Budweiser is smoothest of course due it being a rice beer. However I'd rather drink a Miller Light or MGD. Most people don't like Miller untill they drink enough to grow a 'taste' for them. It's the hops, they grow on you. Sure there are other cheaper brands, but you really don't want to drink anyhting cheeper than Bud or Miller, your bowels will understand. However I don't see much reason to drink anything more expensive, unless you're only gonna drink one or two beers. I've been known to drink around 11 beers just sitting at home watching tv sometimes. Of course you can find the best beer you ever tasted at any micro brewery. Earlier this year I stopped at The Railroad Inn micro Brewery in northern Wisconsin. They had a Blueberry Ale that tasted just like blueberry pancakes, it was amazing. I'm a huge fan of the micro brew!

And whiskie, my recent fav has got to be The Knot, carmel after taste, good bite to it, 100 proof and around 24 bucks for a 750ml.

Not on that night, I just wanted to drink 'a' beer at home, and that's the beer I chose. It turned my stomach and I had to puke about an 1/2 hour later. I may have drank one or two Bud lights too, but they were fresh, and wouldn't have bothered my stomach.

I challenge you to and Indiana Jones style drink off!! We can do it with White Russians too, instead of whiskie shots. I DO deserve that avatar. Believe me, I've lived in Oshkosh for almost 12 years. It's like the binge drinking olympics out here every day. I'm telling you, that's how bad that Elephant Beer sucks. It has nothing to do with Alchohol content, it's just a skunky gut turner that's all.

My challenge still stands, and that goes for anybody else who wants to get wasted.

That explains why you took offence. Hey, Milwaukee's Best is brewed and hour and a half away from my house, but I don't take it personaly. In my opinion, Elephant Beer is the equivalent to that liquid in the bottom of garbage bags. I'm sure Denmark makes other beers that are better, or atleast to more of my own personal tastes. However, I've never been to Denmark, and I'm guessing you've never been to Wisconsin. If the opportunity ever arises, I would gladly drink you under the table. :) I'm kidding of course.

A sip is not a drink, full oz. shots, no reversals or puking. Besides, a drinking challenge is a 'mano y mano' deal. It's got to be done face to face. I'm sorry, but the idea that drugs 'open your mind' is proposterous. Sure they alter your perseption of reality, I'm no stranger to consumption, but they in no way make you smarter or more productive. Don't be rediculous.

http://img.alibaba.com/img/buyoffer/101517075/Wine_Beer_Red_Wine_Vodka_Champagne_Tequila_Whisky_ White_Wine.jpg

I also drank a lot of Hoegaarden, I saw they had rasberry flavoured and lemon flavoured Hoegaarden in the bottleshops.. Some beers I saw on the shelf were %14.

I'm trying to remember what other beers I was drinking, I had a few of these..

That one was 8.5% and very very tasty...

And also some Grimbergen which comes in 3 different types, I had already had the dark one before so I tried the tripple or Blonde which was about %10..

Im not the greatest ale drinker but I do like the odd drop every now and again.

Ive spent a couple of days in Gloucestershire and found this brew (strange really as its made exclusively in North Yorkshire). At first its got a fruity taste but then it develops a pleasant, mild hops taste.

Ive always found with most of these types of ales that the aftertaste builds up as you drink and it starts to become unpleasant but thats not the case with Black Sheep. Certainly worth a go if you can get your hands on it.

Yeah, I usually don't like pale ales or anything over 9% (Quatre-Centieme like 12% i think), but for this one I make an exception. By cracking this seal of The Knot you accept that drinking is never to be taken lightly and promise to act in a responsible fashion-not like some blithering idiot. You promise to drink The Knot straight-up in a proper shot glass, rather than mixing it in some sort of novelty, tiny umbrella, fruit fiasco. Sadly, I'm allergic to beer.

Yeah, let that one roll around your head for a moment. Allergic. To. Beer.

I used to love a good Bass or Guinness, XXXX or VB, name your micro-brew. Can't any longer.

Good red wine is good, but it turns my stomach inside-out. Haven't found a good white yet.

So what's a guy to do? Drink hooch, naturally. I tend towards scotches, whiskies and tequila (since it's springtime, I'll begin to favor tequilas, usually a Milagro or Patron, since I'm still nursing a bottle of that.) I'll use Cuervo for margaritas (Rose's lime juice and Grand Mariner instead of triple sec) but am not really excited about drinking it straight.

Scotchwise? Nothing real fancy. Finishing a bottle of 15-year Glenfiddich from Costco of all places. Nice and smoky and caramelly.

http://farm1.static.flickr.com/152/435787356_3a048c2981.jpg

I haven't tried this yet, but I've heard lots of great things about it. It's brewed with coffee and chocolate, then aged underground for one year in bourbon barrels, which is why it's so hard to get. Founders regular Breakfast Stout is one of my all-time favorites, so I'm looking forward to this one.

Its a lovely early summer evening so decided to try Bulmers pear cider.

Its nice enough, but tastes exactly like apple cider

...looking back, I'm not quite sure why.

Oh man, Goldschlager! Takes me back to my college days, sitting around in a dorm room sucking that stuff down with no mixer or ice. I once drank a bunch of that stuff when I had a cold, it really messed me up.

This is a very good beer that I had recently:

It tastes different, it's a bit sweeter... My local off license has got it for 75 p a bottle at the moment so I have been indulging myself.

You really can't go wrong with Goose Island, currently a big fan of their 312 wheat brew, delish.
