Check out Monster Island/Nation/Planet, I like the theory that if they eat and eat and eat... they gain in size.

"A naked dead man came stomping out of the Elephant House on calves like utility poles. He stood at least ten feet tall, a quaking mound of pallid flesh shot through with black veins. There was no muscle tone on the giant whatsoever, just great rolls of translucent flab and doughy meat. His hands were bloated and nearly useless, human-sized nails sunk deep into the tips of his swollen fingers. His human-sized head sat in the middle of the gelatinous mass of his body like an obscene barnacle. Gary had never seen anything like him before. He gave more than a passing second to the thought that this might be his benefactor, and his doom, but it couldn’t be so. When he plucked the strings of the net that tied together all dead men and women he felt no stirring of intelligence in this beast.

What he did see in his mind’s eye was horrible to look upon—dark energy, far more than seemed possible, a writhing, roiling storm cloud of it that blazed and radiated away from the giant in great gouts and yet never diminished in strength—a black star. There was hatred in there as well, raw red hatred for anyone who dared enter the precincts of the beast’s domain.

The creature before Gary had not begun its existence at that size. He had been a big man in life but neither a body-builder or an athlete. He had merely been one of the first of the walking dead to find his way to the Zoo. He had fought off the weaker dead as they arrived, engaged in epic combats with the stronger ones but always he had prevailed. His current size was due simply to eating greater quantities of more robust meat than anyone else who tried to challenge him.

There were no more elephants in the Elephant House, Gary realized, nor any giraffes, or hippopotami or rhinos or bears. He was looking at what was left of them."

It's a cool concept, but dead skin loses its moisture and elasticity, instead of stretching, it would split...And cell-production stops upon death, so...No growth

Thanks for the excerpt...Very nice :)

I think it has to do with absorbing the energy and in turn cells. There's an explination in the second book I believe (complete with a disgusting not quite zombie no where near human woman). The zombies in those books can sense the energy of the living and grow stronger upon consuming it, I believe the flesh they consume combines with theirs. Either way... no poop. :(

Last night I watched a zombie movie called The Stink Of Flesh... not only was it highly entertaining in that stupid but funny way, but there was a scene where a couple of dudes came up upon 2 piles of zombie shit in the road... one of the piles had a human tooth sticking out hehe.

Also, this is directly from Max Brooks Zombie Survival Guide found on pages page 11 and 12 under the living dead digestion section...

Recent evidence has once and for all discounted the theory that human flesh is the fuel for the undead. A zombie's digestive tract is completely dormant. The complex system that processes food, extracts nutrition, and excretes waste does not factor into a zombie's physiology.

Autopsies conducted on neutralized undead have shown that their "food" lies in it's original, undigested state at all sections of the tract. This partially chewed, slowly rotting matter will continue to accumulate, as the zombie devours more victims, until it's forced through the anus, or literally bursts through the stomach or intestinal lining.

While this more dramatic example of non-digestion is rare, hundreds of eyewitness reports have confirmed undead to have distended bellies. One captured and dissected specimen was found to have 211 pounds of flesh within it's system! Even rarer accounts have confirmed that zombies continue to feed long after their digestive tracts have exploded within.

I have reached a final hypothesis about this matter.

I had once believed that we could simply barricade ourselves in a fortified location (preferably a mall) until the zombies all exploded from overeating and died (which was what started this conversation in the first place)

However, I had forgotten one thing...A zombie can explode, but still be alive...It's so obvious, I can't believe I didn't think of it before

Zombies can't poop...They simply eat until they explode, the explosion most likely starting as a rip near the belly button, and developing into a full split up to the sternum...And then they just keep eating

So, I guess there's no real way to just wait them out

Oh, I have also decided that I need to watch The Stink Of Flesh :)
