Wow...and at least one person agrees with you. Uh, maybe they mis-clicked when voting. :D

I didn't vote. Angra and Papillon think it's better than Halloween, so... i'm not the only one.

Don't worry you're not the only one out there who likes scream. I love Scream, for some unknown and totally freaked reason, they are my favourite movies. And you can dish out as much shit about the fact that I like the movie and I wont care.

I'm different an I reveal in that fact. I never liked the Halloween movies, they didn't scare me. But neither did Scream lol.

in a lot of cases the best horror ideas were spawned when movies weren't that well made. i think scream is a well made old style movie. the best movies today are those that benefit from an original idea and up to date movie making techniques. imagine if alien had've been made in the 50's. look at the house on haunted hill.

I love scream. I like the way he plays around with his victims before killing them. And the fact his mum kills in the second one. Hmmm, where have I seen a homicidal vengeful mum before? I just prefer Halloween.

I know Halloween is this awesome classic horror franchise and all but I just can't seem to like it as much as Scream. That says alot about my horror movie selection but it's the way I feel. Scream is just an awesome trilogy of movies.

Lest we forget before we start trashing on people who liked Scream better than Halloween, you have to take into consideration your first viewing of the source material.

Although I consider Halloween to be the better movie, there are many who (especially, but not limited to the younger generation) heard about Halloween for years before they got the chance to see it. Like The Exorcist, even though these are some of the most beloved horror films ever made hype and expectation can bring down peoples opinions. There are many who probably had a nice 'virgin experience' with Scream: no hype (other than Craven's name) no mystique to live up to. I'll be the first to admit, although I did not care for Scream, it's a solid movie with nice gore and a whimsical way with poking fun at itself. I don't have much love for what it spawned either. Scream for me, however, is the perfect example of what I'm talking about. For me, I didn't watch it until over 3 years after its theatrical release. By that point in time, not only had the hype been well overdone, but I had also had a good majority of the kills in the movie described to me in detail by rabid (and I consider impolite) fans.

Don't forget, though, when you're ready to discount other peoples movie tastes that Scream was an introduction to thousands of people to the slasher genre who will most likely turn out to be life long horror fans. Halloween did it for me, so I can't imagine why the others wouldn't hold Scream in as high regards as I do Carpenters masterpiece.
