Worth giving it another try-let us know what you think when you see it. I would recommend you watch them in the order of Box first (Takashi Miike's film if I've got the title wrong) then Cut and end on a high with Dumplings. :)
Edit: I just read Staal's thread and it was called Box so yeah start with that one.

Kenneth Cranham is absolutely fantastic in Hellbound ,such a great horror character
" The mind is a labyrinth, ladies and gentlemen, a puzzle. And while the paths of the brain are plainly visible, its ways deceptively apparent, its destinations are unknown. Its secrets still secret. And, if we are honest, it is the lure of the labyrinth that draws us to our chosen field to unlock those secrets. Others have been here before us and have left us signs, but we, as explorers of the mind, must devote our lives and energies to going further to tread the unknown corridors in order to find ultimately, the final solution. We have to see, we have to know..."

Wha? You actually liked Predator 2 more than the original? That's the first time I ever heard of somebody saying that, it was a good movie seeing on how I'm a predator fan, but I strongly preferred the Predator from and the protagnoists in the first movie more, than in the second.
But! I did really like the ending scene of Predator 2 when the lost tribe suddenly appeared before Danny Glover's character and the Elder Predator gave Danny's character an old 1700's style pirate pistol.

I'm one of the few who loves Predator 2 and more than the first. Don't get me wrong as I adore the original, but I enjoyed the sequel more for the city setting and how the Predator hunted in an urban environment. I also like the darker tone and the new weaponry, and it had great action setpiece like the slaughterhouse.

I loved the original Predator movie, but Predator 2 was my favorite also. The Universal age generally refers to films made by Universal Studios in period of the 1930s-1950s. Although the whole period of the 1930s-1940s is commonly referred to as the Universal Age (in terms of horror). Some examples of Universal films would be Dracula (1931), Frankenstein (1931), The Mummy (1932), The Invisible Man (1933), King Kong (1933), Bride of Frankenstein (1935), and The Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954). Many of these films also have several sequels. My personal favorite is Dracula (1931), although a close second would be The Invisible Man (1933), followed by Frankenstein (1931).

[QUOTE=Jigsaw Killer;928224]Pretty simple, which one movie of the following series with at least three or more movies is your favorite? Just pick your one favorite from each and add more series if you'd like.
---
Friday The 13th - part 3 and 10
Halloween - 3 (I know, it's not part of the series, but I love it)
A Nightmare On Elm Street (one of the middle ones, can't remember)
Saw - 2, without doubt!
Scream - they all seem the same to me.
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre - the original is still the most disturbing horror flick I've never seen.
Alien - first one. I love the way the survivor isn't the focus, so you're not sure who's going to be the survivor.
Predator - I really liked 2. The way just a cop fights this powerful being.
Phantasm - the first was quite good.
Evil Dead - didn't care for the series. I prefer comedy and horror separate.
Hellraiser - the one where the cop finds himself in a Groundhog Day. Very good.
Child's Play - 3 is the one at the military academy? That one.
Final Destination - the last one was my fav.
Cube - 2 is GREAT.
Jaws - 2, because there's more shark!! And NOT CARTOON SHARK.

Friday the 13th- Part II (it’s the first with a killing and burlap sack wearing Jason)
Halloween- Rob Zombie’s Halloween (nothing against the original- I’ve seen it every Halloween since I can remember, but I love Rob’s version. It’s grittier and goes more in depth)
A Nightmare on Elm Street- Love the original (One, two, Freddy's coming for you. / Three, four, better lock your door. / Five, six, grab your crucifix. / Seven, eight, gonna stay up late. / Nine, ten, never sleep again.)
Saw- original
Scream- original (very good series)
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre- The original (1974)
Alien- Aliens
Predator- original
Phantasm- I've only seen the original
Evil Dead- Evil Dead II
Hellraiser- The original
Child's Play- The original
Final Destination- the first one I guess (really don’t care for these movies though)
Segment in Anthrology-Trick r'Treat "Surprise Party" (although I absolutely LOVE the whole movie!)
I Know What You Did Last Summer- original
Paranormal Activity- original
Jaws- original
Romero's Living Dead Series- Diary of the Dead (loved the message this one sent and it was really relevant about today being so “tuned” in all the time. I like all of Romero’s films. This one just really stood out because of the different message)
Poltergeist- original
Re-Animator-original
Tremors- original
Universal (1930s-1940s)- The Wolf Man (1941)
Hammer- The Mummy (1959)
Children of the Corn- original
Amityville Horror- original (one of my favorites)
Hannibal Lecter- Silence of the Lambs
Anthrology TV Series segment- Goosebumps "Night of the Living Dummy II" (1996) (read the books and I loved the show as a kid, I can hear the theme song just thinking about it, I also watched Tales from the Crypt and Are you Afraid of the Dark?)
New edition: Psycho- the original is classic
New edition: When a Stranger Calls- the original ("Have you checked the children?").
New edition: Underworld- Rise of the Lycans
New edition: Fright Night- I really love the original. It’s in my top ten faves. Part 2 was enjoyable. The remake was pretty good, but neither of them is as good as the original. Evil Ed :-)

Halloween - the first one, but I do have a soft spot for part 3.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre - the first one, but I love part 2 also.
Alien - Aliens. I love the first one, but again, this one is just so dang fun.

If you still haven't seen it (I wasn't sure if you hadn't seen it from May 6th to now) I would recommend it. I didn't like that it was sort of a cheat, but if you just forget that Halloween III is in the front, then it is really good. If I was judging it by quality, it would probably be my third or fourth favorite in the series (but since it does not have Myers, then I rate it as my least favorite). I just want to note that I know most people don't like movies 4+, but I actually really liked all those movies. Of course, Halloween (1978) will always be my favorite, but still.

It's probably just because the film (and the other TCMs past the original) are in the shadow of the first movie which is absolutely legendary and there's just no way any film past it can live up to it in most peoples' eyes. That may be true, but seperate TCM3 from the first and it's actually really good.

The prequel The Beginning was not great, but it is worth a watch. I would say stick with the chronological viewing. I have heard The Exorcist III was good too, but, despite owning it, I have not seen it yet. I am very surprised that you have not seen that one yet, it is a classic. I will say that I do not watch it very often and am not a huge fan, but I do not deny that it is an excellent film in many ways.

I know, I often feel like an outsider for not having seen it. It has two prequels, The Beginning and Dominion, the latter of which was made first but then made again as the former when the studio wanted it to be a more mainstream Horror film.

I saw Evil dead remake acouple of nights ago. I enjoyed it. A worthy remake indeed. I had no problem with it exept for the girl just walking away in the end with her arm cut off. Wouldn't she faint after she killed the last demon? Or die of blood loss. Whatever. it was a really good movie still.

This one might be a stretch, but another series I remembered is The Mummy (the 90s version). The first one is pretty much an Action/Horror hybrid with more of an emphasis on the former but quite a bit of the latter is still present. The two sequels are pretty much all-out Action with very little of the Horror aspect remaining.

The second one is my fave and I think the third is underrated and well worth a watch. Four and five are dreadful especially five which is a chore to watch and has nothing to do with the other Amityvilles. It's been a long time since I've seen the others so will give them a re-watch. A Nightmare On Elm Street: the original

Evil Dead: 2
Hellraiser: the original but hellbound is a very close second.

What's your favorite film of each of the listed series in the original post?
Friday The 13th: Part VI - Jason Lives [1986], but more for personal reasons.
Halloween: Definitely the first one.
A Nightmare On Elm Street: First one - even though Heather Langenkamp (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000486/?ref_=tt_cl_t3) & Ronee Blakley (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0086867/?ref_=tt_cl_t2) spend the entire film competing for biggest over-actor.
Saw: First one.
Scream: Tie between first & second and that's a rare thing.
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The original. I was pretty young, so the defiling I look back fondly on was massive.
Alien: First one hands down - even though I love Aliens [1986]
Predator: Rodriguez's Predators [2010] took the lead from the original - but not by much.
Phantasm: First one - love the graveyard love-making scene.
Evil Dead: First one. Also pretty young when I first saw.
Hellraiser: First one.
The Omen: First one. This series best represents what you get when you drain the life out of a great idea. I mean, what was Omen IV even trying to do?
Final Destination: Third one - like Jason Lives - more for personal rather than cinematic reasons.

I remembered Lucio Fulci's Zombie spawned quite a few rip-off sequels in Italy, IIRC. I've never seen any of them but they all seem to be of a pretty low quality and their numbering is also confusing since Zombie in Italy was marketed as a sequel to Dawn Of The Dead when it was never intended to be as such and thus Zombie 2 is known as Zombie 3.
