The first three "Arkham" titles.

Yeah I really enjoyed Arkham Asylum and Arkham City. Great games. Arkham Origins was not very good. Arkham Knight was good but I was tired of the franchise by that point. Everything had become rather repetitive.

First two games are must-plays though (with a healthy gap in between so the combat still feels fresh).

Alien Isolation and SOMA which I loved!

I always complain about modern horror games being superficial and poorly executed, but these two titles have impressed me! The guys from FRICTIONALGAMES Studio did indeed resurrect the horror games genre.

$59 is way too much for such an underwhelming game. $20 would’ve been more fitting.

You like coc, huh?..

Well, nothing really works about this game.

1. The graphics aren’t very good.

2. The dialogue sounds weird as if the editor was in a hurry.

3. The gameplay is very uneven and can’t decide which kind of game it wants to be.

4. Some of the stages are really annoying and most of them just not very exciting.

5. It’s a mystery game, not really horror.

Only thing going for it, is that the story feels like a Lovecraft story. Just not a story I would like to read again.

Just re-finished the first Bio-Shock.
Anything is going to show it's age by this stage but to be honest it's still somewhat impressive...the water, reflections, the "scenery" both indoor and outdoor.
I did the "good guy" finish.
Not sure how many endings there were, I remember there being 3 or more?
It was an impressive game...though the standard enemies were not all that creative and didn't have a hell of a lot of variation...though the combat was solid and the amount of things you can hack and manipulate make for some interesting and varied ways of playing the game itself.
I liked it.
I'd give it a 7/10, which is what I thought in the first place.
It wowed back in the day - and holds up fairly well this many years later.
Plot-wise, well there's that "twist" which while I was expecting, still impressed me in and of itself.

Man of Medan ps4 8/10

I never found out who the man of Medan was, but the game was damn good. Almost as good as the former Until Dawn. This time the story was inspired by the movie Ghostship.

I played two PS4 games this month.

The Last of Us Remastered (PS4)
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/4/46/Video_Game_Cover_-_The_Last_of_Us.jpg
Fantastic. While I enjoyed the action, especially against human APC's rather than zombies, it was the characters driving the story along that I loved and kept coming back for. Wonderfully written and voiced, I really enjoyed this game.
9/10

Uncharted 4 (PS4)
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/1/1a/Uncharted_4_box_artwork.jpg
I enjoyed the climbing aspects, they managed to keep them engaging and fluid without being frustrating. The game is beautiful to look at. I found the combat to be annoying, especially as I was playing Hard difficulty, with awkward cover mechanics. The APC's had good flanking strategies, but were so overwhelming in numbers at times that it made for some frustrating combat. And the stealth was rather lacklustre.

It was the characters, the acting, the dialogue and the story that I loved, which kept me interested and entertained throughout. For that, even though I wasn't a fan of the combat, I give this game high marks.
8.5/10

I've had that game on Steam for SO long...I think it looks like kind of relaxing...is there a survival element?
The quick look I had kind of made it seem a little minecrafty?
At least in terms of find and build.

Another game you might want to look at, if you like the survival/lost at sea type shit is called "Stranded Deep". On steam, and I'm pretty sure PSN. Looks tenso.

There's also a "stuck on an island with zombies" isometric game which is...generic but a bit of a fun time killer, it's called "how 2 survive", they made a sequel I've never seen. If you like island. If you like zombies. It has those things.

Subnautica is a survival game yes. I just picked the no-starving option, because I hate that part in survival games.

I’m sick and tired of zombies, but I’ll sure have a look at Stranded Deep, thanks.

I'm considering playing Bio-shock for the first time. Recommended by a buddy. I tend to go for first-person-shooters and melee, with 3rd person view, games like Star Wars Jedi Knight. I'm not really aware of any modern games like that these days, as Star Wars basically stopped making them. I tend not to like the role playing games where you select an attack, in turn, and it does it for you.

I heard Bio-shock has decent FPS combat in 3rd person view, and a really good story. I might give it a shot.

Oh yeah it is dull....for a while....though it has its moments of greatness, and I love how cool looking my character turned out to be, he looked like a total warrior badass, I guess it counts how well you create the character makes the game funner....but it gets more epic towards the end....I grinded through, I HAD to beat this, I put too much time into it. Same with The Witcher 3 soooo long, less dull but sometimes I was very bored, yet loved it simultaneously....it was worth it, when I finished that game, i felt like I accomplished something? Patience is a hard virtue...

Than you got Assassin's Creed Odyssey...sooooo long, such a big map, but that game is very fun, and beautiful to look at...I had to beat that too....I beat all the assassins creed games, and dlc's...... Looking forward to the next one coming up very soon, AC Valhalla! I'm guessing this one is gonna have a gigantic map like odyssey.

The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope PS4 7/10

Where Man of Medan was obviously inspired by Ghostship this one was obviously inspired by Silent Hill. It was good, but even though the game was longer than Man of Medan it felt rushed. Noticed lots of small errors here and there. Also the story didn’t give much of a satisfaction. But Will Poulter was really good and I especially enjoyed the parts where I played as his characters.

If I hadn't played Watch Dogs: Legion a month earlier this game would be the dullest game of 2020 for me. The main story is surprisingly short which, to be honest, was much appreciated. Most likely not a game I will play ever again.

And this has nothing to do with any of the bug issues. The bugs was the least of the games' problems.

Of course. It’s not a bad game. Just wasn’t for me. Missed all the monsters and mutants from Fallout. This one just had most people being cyborgs, but mostly by looks. Neither have I played an openworld game since before the first Red Dead Redemption with no animal life whatsoever. Just got a big labyrinthic Tokyo’ish city and its depressing Suburbs to roam. Wasn’t very inspiring. Didn’t help that there wasn’t one song on the entire soundtrack I could stand listening to. Awful, awful noise. THAT’S THE FUTURE!!

Would have been a 10/10 if the game had been at LEAST 3 times as long. The story was over before the journey really began after approximately 6 hours. ::sad::

Gameplay was great and I really liked the look of the game, and at a discount price of $12 I would say it's definitely worth experiencing.

Resident Evil - Village PS4 8/10

Took me 19 hours to get through which I believe is longer than RE7. Pretty long for a linear game.

Game was entertaining throughout, so no complaints there. Gameplay, good. The characters were good, though not as well written as in RE7, but that's also a very high bar to reach.

The graphics were very grey for the first 3rd of the game, but became more pleasing afterwards. Still not as detailed as RE7 when it came to the charaters.

The story was kind of a mess, especially later on and the game overall felt a little rushed when it came to some of the scenes. Often after a cutscene I was confused how Ethan ended up where he did.

And speaking of Ethan. Here's the worst part Village. I didn't notice it in RE7 but I sure did in this one. The voice actor is pretty damn BAD. Granted, the general dialoge sounded like it was written by teens, with a shit loads of "What the fuck?!", "Now what?!", "Seriously?!", "What the hell is going on?!", "No, YOU're a doo doo head!!". Well, the last one was mine, but it would have fit right in. But even if the dialogue had been good the guy voicing Ethan would still sound like he was reading it all out loud from a script, which is most likely the case. Everything he said sounded very unconvincing.

And that's all I have to say about this game. For now..

A few more things.

When it comes to horror/action Village reminded much more of RE4 than 7 as the story first of all could be a remake of 4. Horror/action wise it's also way less creepy than 7 and went more for the action like 4 did.

But if you liked either 4 or 7 I'd say go for Village. You can't go wrong.

As Village was once again in First Person mode the lack of VR this time was a missed opportunity and maybe a sign, again, that the game was rushed.

I last completed the remake of RE4.

It's great, but to be honest, I don't think the original RE4 is really a true survival horror game. You acquire way too much ammo. Then you buy weapons as well.

It was definitely an excellent action game. But I felt alienated by that shift from horror to action gameplay.

Silent Hill 2 (Remake) 9/10

Probably the best remake I've played so far. The facial expressions combined with the voices and acting was fantastic. But best of all was the soundtrack all the way through. I also believe the game is longer than the original. Took me... are you sitting down?...... almost 35 hours to beat. But because it took me this long it also meant that especially the appartment building and the hospital overstayed its welcome. Could easily have done without the other-world part in both stages. At that point I just wanted to move on with the story.

But still a damn good and well made game.
