Bubba Ho-Tep - Great movie. Lots of good one liners. A bit slow at the start, but still very entertaining.

DotD Remake - Excellent remake. Right there with TCM for me at the top of the recent remake crop.

Beyond Reanimator - Probably my least favorite of the ReAnim movies but still not a bad movie. It's fun every once and a while.

From hell was pretty good. I enjoyed it a stripper came to my motel room when I was on the road some the year it came out and rented it at the front desk for me and my partner. All 9 of these films clawed their way through this tourney to distinguish themselves as the cream of the crop. If you haven't seen any, you should feel confident renting any of these, as well as most of the ones that made it to the quarterfinals as well... They've all proven themselves worthwhile to the majority of this forum at the very least....




SEMIFINALS - Match 1



Our first semifinalist cruised through the first round with a dominant 7-1-0 victory over Final Destination 2 and Wendigo. In it's second match, the going got a little tougher, but this film still managed to come out on top of one of the closest matches of the round with a 7-5-2 win over Dog Soldiers and Joy Ride and only moments ago, this film also won out another hard fought match up by a score of 5-4-1 against Wrong Turn and Slither to advance to this point..... With a combined tournament record of 19-13...

Our second semifinalist scored a closer than expected 6-4-0 victory over Alien vs. Predator and Open Water in the opening round and then went on to dominte it's second match by a margin of 8-3-1 versus Ginger Snaps 2 and Silent Hill. In the quartfinals, this film had one of the most lopsided wins of the round with a 6-1-0 win over The Hills Have Eyes remake and Final Destination 2 to arrive here in the semifinals.... With a total tournament record of 20-9...

And our third semifinalist crushed the competition in the opening round with a 5-0-0 shutout against Beyond Re-Animator and 1 Missed Call. That was followed up by another convincing 7-4-0 win over From Hell and House of 1000 Corpses in the next round. It wasn't until the quarterfinals that this film saw a heated competition, barely eeking out a 5-4-0 win over Final Destination and Resident Evil: Apocalypse for a spot in the semifinals.... With an overall combined record of 17-8....

Our second semifinalist dominated the competition in the opening round with a 11-1-0 win against Shadow of the Vampire & Hellraiser: Inferno and then went on to also dominate it's The Skeleton Key & Suicide Club[/i]. In the quarterfinals, this film had it's third decisive win against two other well-received films, winning 7-2-0 over The Devils Rejects & Dagon to arrive here in the semifinals.... With a total tournament record of 29-5...

And our third semifinalist shocked the world by upending the competition in the opening round 5-3-0 against Saw 2 and When a Stranger Calls. That was followed up by another convincing 6-2-0 win over Anatomy & Constantine in the next round. This film continued it's roll right through the quartfinals, putting down another decisive 7-0-0 shutout win over Freddy vs Jason & Hostel for a spot in the semifinals.... With an overall combined record of 18-5....

Not at all. I thought the movie was grade A all the way up until the "twist", which just made it suck because it punched a bunch of holes into a plot that didn't need a twist to begin with.

I laughed a bit more at American Psycho. On occasion I've actually laughed more at stuff not even meant to be laughed at(Jason X, Uwe Boll ''movies'').


I'm not saying it was bad, it's a really good movie imo just not as good as it's doing in this tourney. Just my opinion.

Shaun of the Dead wins the tournament with 11 votes, High Tension takes second with 4 votes and Bubba Ho-Tep gets 3rd with 2 votes! But in all honesty, all 3 of these are pretty damn cool movies, same goes for pretty much any film that made the quarter & semifinals too! (from what I've seen.)

Shaun of the Dead will have a chance to defend it's championship because it will once again be an entrant....
