Bears vs Lions this weekend, and the Lions are ALREADY talking smack. They say they're coming into Soldier Field and beating us, GUARANTEED!

You're taking on the best defense in OUR house and guaranteeing a win? With Kitna behind the wheel? Oof...

Roy Williams just needs to shut up and make some catches. Did you hear how he said that the Lions were so close to breaking out 40 pts when they only scored 6 pts in week 1? Only 34 pt difference.

thats nothing towards the dissapointment a collingwood supporter knows! sorry but it's not, We had won the most grand finals up to 1958 then gradually got taken over, we are now behind two clubs but since 58 we have lost around 15 or more and only won one, also we had every one in the country barracking for the other team on sunday. we are the most hated because we were once so good. we also hold the record for premiships in a row. 4 .

AUSTIN316426808
09-14-2006, 11:08 AM
Wait a minute, you're complaining because it's been a long time since they were dominate and you're losing championship games?

I'm talking about a team that started off with 29 straight losing seasons. A team that's only been to the playoffs 5 times and has only won 1 playoff game in it's entire exsistence. The Saints haven't even gotten close enough to sniff a championship.

Nobody's going to win it all every year, your guys have a great history and now they aren't as great as they used to be but still have good seaons and make it to championships. They win some they lose some. The Saints have just flat out sucked for 50 years, you can't even begin to compare that.

Disease
09-14-2006, 11:20 AM
well in my life time, we lost I think 2 out of the first three year I was alive then never won another till 1990, lost backtoback2002-3, but I have listende to and watched so many games, and we have lost by 6 points or less in so many games since ive been alive, and let me tell you loseing finals is a hell of a lot worse than not makeing them!

Disease
09-14-2006, 11:28 AM
allso everyone who doesn"t follow collingwood hates them, that makes it more harsh, and important to win especially when you are robbe of a grand final victory by bad umpireing.

AUSTIN316426808
09-14-2006, 11:40 AM
I think you're missing my main point. Your team plays great and has a shot at the title every year.

My team has played great twice, that's it, just 2 seasons they played great and a handful of seasons they've been competitive. Other than that, which I'm sure you'll agree isn't much, they've sucked.

You said they have the record, 4 straight, for championships in a row. We've got the record, in the area of 30, for losing seasons in a row.

Now honestly, from those basic points, what team would you rather have? Or more appropriately for the discussion, which would you rather not have to deal with?

Disease
09-14-2006, 11:45 AM
still when you have lost more than 30 grand finals, I could do with ou that!

I might've and not realized, but most likely I haven't. It's probably not broadcasted here.

Is it American football with different rules or is it rugby-ish?

And to clear up that typo, American football is the greatest game of all.:D

no, austrlian rules started in the late 18 hundreds, it is a game all of it's own, no body protectors , full contact, and high scoreing, it is the greatest. But one of our forwards, Saverio Roccer is maybe going to play for the Buffalo Bills, watch out for him, next season. You know who ben graham is don't you

I never said it would ease the pain, I'm just saying the pain isn't as bad for fans of a team that just sucks.

Raiders are gonna get Brady Quinn(or the guy from Clemson, can't think of his name.) and rebuild, just hang on.

I bleed purple and gold. We better win our shit little division this year. I hope Culpepper loses every single game with the fish this year. It would have been nice to see us go and get Branch before Seattle scooped him up since Robinson can't stop getting drunk and arrested. Oh well, he's cheesehead property now. GL HF with that.

P.S. At least you won't have to watch the Saints lose for much more than a season or two, you know that Ahh-nuld and the cali kids want to see Bush and the LA Saints pronto.

Benson can't move the team for another 3 years and only then if the city hasn't improved enough. Last I checked the Monday night game is sold out along with 60k season tickets, they aint going anywhere.

The Irish just aren't that good. They've got all the talent you could ask for at the skill positions but other than that they're soft. If you look at last year they didn't really beat anybody. They played 3 really legit teams..Michigan State, USC and Ohio State..they lost all 3 games.

Daaaaaaa Bears! To all you Viking fans, you're not gonna be able to squeeze out a lucky victory against us next week. You're lucky Carolina has so many injuries, and that fucked up backwards pass... otherwise we're siitin' pretty allllll alone atop the North.

you've beat the packers and the lions GFG neither were in the playoff last year, if you combined their wins they wouldnt have made it. We've beaten the skins and the panthers both playoff teams. and the only real injury on the panthers is SMith, its the 2nd week its not like they are decimated by injury, Oh yeah, the game is in the dome, not on soldier field and theres no way grossn00b is gonna get 4 touchdowns again this year unless you play the raiders. The only thing the bears are gonna get next week is a purple fart from the vikes sitting atop them in the div TBH.

The only thing the bears have going for them is that their schedule is one of easiest. I still don't buy into Grossman because he threw a few TDs vs GB and DET. Whats up with T. Jones? He is on my fantasy team but the bears can't get a running game going on.

The best team in the NFC were battling in philadelphia and the Giants won it! Great 17 pt comeback in the 4th!!

The Vikings haven't played a defense as good as Chicago's but the Bears haven't played a team (Offense or defense) as good as the Vikes. I predict a low scoring 10-17 sort of battle.

AUSTIN316426808
09-18-2006, 01:23 PM
The Vikings did beat two playoff teams but those teams were missing the two players that make their offenses run.

Grossman was the 22nd pick in the draft coming off a great college career, he's been injured and hasn't really gotten his chance. I don't get all the doubting thrown his way in what's only his first year with the job. And I don't care who you're playing, 20-27 for 289 and 4 TDs(0 INTs) is a great performance, I'm not saying he's gonna be Elway just that it shouldn't be a total shock if he does well.

My prediction for what it's worth, 20-13(give or take a field goal or two) Bears.

Anyway, Saints are 2-0 and hopefully they can take over the south Monday back in the dome.

Oh yeah, Fuck Auburn.

Spec7ral

people will continue to doubt the saints for another week or two, then they'll be 4-0 and everyone will be like oh yeah they have drew brees and reggie bush, wtf was i thinking? Chargers and Rivers will run into trouble and then the talk about letting brees go will be music to the saints fans ears. I think that the vikes game will prolly come down to a touchdown, hopefully its in the vikes favor tho. One of my best friends is going to that game and we live in fuking vancouver so hopefully his first vikes game is a win. the key to this one is gonna be the fact that b.j. isnt a stat whore. the carolina d was all over them but they waited it out and found a way to win. espect much of a similar game this week. as much as i loved moss carter smith and culpepper wreaking havoc in huge chunks, ill take the wins that b.j. is putting on the board no problem.

What about Grant, Smith, Horn, McAllister, Colston, McKenzie, Fujita, Bullocks, Harper, Bellamy, Thomas, Craft, Simoneau, Gleason, Johnson, Henderson, Brown, Mayberry, Young, Thomas..

There's alot of good and great players on the team that Brees is centerpiece of. I'm not trying to downplay Bush's significance, justa little tired of everybody else downplaying how good the entire team is playing and not just Bush.

we all know its a team game, obviously you being a coach, emphasis is more on the team aspect for you.. im just saying the new additions will be the highlighted feature should they reach undefeated after 4 games. Sportscenter is never gonna show the key block on an 8 yard gain midfield on first down that set up the game winning touchdown the next play, you gotta watch the games to know how important that play (and all the players) was (/were).

TO said it was a bad reaction to a mixture of painkillers and natural medicines. Who cares? What does strike me as odd is two hours after he leaves the hospital he goes out of his way to be "fine" by getting on the practice field and saying he wants to play Sun.

bwind22
09-27-2006, 09:07 PM
I don't think that's odd. I think it's proving that the media blew this waaay out of proportion. He IS fine, or at least seemed perfectly fine at the press conference. Last night right after it happened, his spokesmen said it was an allergic reaction to some prescribed meds and that it was no big deal. Then this morning, I hear that story had somehow morphed into a suicide attempt.

I think he will play Sunday.

You don't think a normal person would say, "I'm fine, I'll get a little rest and be ready to go on Sunday." or something to that effect? He didn't need to be back on the field two hours after leaving the hospital and it seems like he was trying too hard with that.

If he had actually tried committing suicide and it really WAS as big of a deal as they make it seem, then yes. I would think the reaction you described would be more appropriate.

I just don't happen to think it's the case. I think it really was no big deal, which is why he was out on the field a couple hours later like nothing was wrong... It was because nothing WAS wrong. *shrug*

At least that's my take on it.
