Thank you all very much. Spent the weekend in a little cabin in the woods and while my wife spent time outside with her acrylics, I stayed indoors and watched Peckinpah's CROSS OF IRON. Also drank a lot of coffee and read some Verne.

That actually sounds Heavenly. Where in the woods? One of my absolute favorite vacations ever was in a little cabin in the woods of Northern Maine. No electricity, no running water, right on a pond... It was amazing. :)

The Cascades. Not way up with snowcapped mountains or anything, but what they call the Cascade foothills. Lots of rain and wind this time around but we did have electricity (no cable or network television but a DVD player was set up) and you can't put too high a premium on hot running water.
