HDC Chooses: Best Sci-Fi Film Of This Decade

Same as the other two threads - pick your choice and give your reasons.

Am sure its going to be a really tough pick, since there were plenty of good ones throughout this decade. The options are limited to 10, so if I missed a good one, point it out below.

Hon Mentions - A.I., Serenity, Pandorum.

Yep..it's tough to pick only one out of them...specially my most favorites are Children of Men, D9 and ESOTSM. But as I like to consider ESOTSM as the most beautiful romantic (rather than a Sci-Fi) film I have seen so far, so I can go between COM & D9 and both are brilliant in their own way. As I guess D9 will get more votes, therefore my final selection is CHILDREN OF MEN.:)

District 9, Eternal Sunshine, Moon, and Donnie Darko were some of my favorite movies this decade and it pained me to pick a favorite, but in the end I went with Wall-E. It was just more a more fascinating, inventive story to me and the imagery, though depressing to think about, was beautiful. Plus the robot was damn cute.

Hated Wall-e with a passion. As for the others, I haven't seen many of them. Can't really make a good vote.

Went with Donnie Darko. The only other one I've seen even part of, would be Children Of Men. Didn't see enough to give it a fair scoring.

Donnie Darko is poseur garbage. It's watered down Vonnegut. Wall-E on the other hand has a great message, several heartwarming moments and deals with a robotic protagonist without sacrificing his humanity. That robot is twice as expressive as Jake Gyllenhaal and the noises coming out of its mouth make more sense.

I wasn't gonna vote in this thing, but I voted for Donnie Darko, just cuz Doc was so mean to it.
