When is it Christmas time?

I know there's an obvious answer, but bare with me.

What I mean, is when do you consider Christmas to be upon us? IS it the first day of December where the Advent Calendars come out? The day you finish work/ school? Christmas day? Way back in May when Wal*Mart put out the decorations?

For me, it's when I see this Lorry for the first time on tele.

Associated it with Christmas since as long as I can remember. Because of my Birthday being so close to Christmas (15th) we don't put the tree or lights up until after then, but even so, this advert signals Christmas for me. What about you?

Ooh I like this thread.

I normally don't consider it Christmas until it's actually Christmas. For a lot of reasons, I dread the day and hope it comes and goes with very little stress.

However, my boyfriend and his family are heavily into Christmas and I've been pulled into their traditions so I look forward to the holidays a little more the last few years.

So now, for me, Christmas is here when the cranberry gingerale is here or when it snows, whichever comes first.

The day after Halloween... I love the season, in fact, I simply LOVE from the end of October until Jan. 1st. Time to go buy some Toys 4 Tots gifts!

I think it's Christmas time, when Despare starts buying Toys 4 Tots gifts...

Some pretty varied answers here.

When do you guys start putting up decorations, if any?

Mine are already up. Used to decorate the whole house, but now just the inside. Usually around the first of December...

I got some of the cranberry gingerale today I've heard it taste really good.It was almost all sold out everywhere I went. I also can't find it in cans or 20oz I can only find it in 2 liter, which really sucks, makes me unhappy too.

For me, it's when it snows. This year however, my mom decided that we were going to be in the holiday spirit after we washed dishes from thanksgiving dinner. :P
