My thoughts on LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT remake

Went to see it last night with a six pack of cider - my thoughts (Spoilers duh):

Pros: No shitty OST by David Hess
Decent Acting
I liked the up close and personal camera work

Cons: No shitty OST by David HEss
No scenes of forced urination
VERY happy ending
no piss yer pants scene
Wolcott wasn't as scary as Hess despite Vitimin S
No BJ castration
Needed more piss scenes
No chainsaw
Did i mention the lack of pee
The chicks looks looked too young

Overall it was way better than i expected it to be.

>>spoilers!

yeah..it wasn't as violent or brutal as the original was. In compare to David Hess I found this new Krug guy quite gentle & polite! Moreover, other characters like Francis & Justin weren't as freaky & unpredictable as Weasel and Junior were and yeah..here Mari looked pretty young. Though I didn't that much like this 'no one dies at the end' idea (perhaps after watching some recent 'victimization' flicks, I have become quite fond of dark & making pissed off kinda ending.:D) but I also like to admit that in terms of a remake it was pretty decent one.

This is why my bf refused to watch it with me at first glance. He is a big fan of the original. I'm not much a fan of brutality or cruelty in horror films, though they are much scarier. I enjoyed the original, but I liked the remake a lot actually.

Loved the original but just couldn't get into the remake. It came across as cheap and sleazy rather then the brutally hard hitting impact of the original flick. Shame as I was looking forward to it.

Why did you hate it so much?

I thought they kept the tension up pretty well for the whole film - it was well shot without rsorting to too much shakey camera work that is over used these days.

I was watching a preview recently with violent scenes and that. Then right at the end the title was for this movie. I was shocked because i wasn't aware of a remake. From the sounds of it here, i'd be better off chasing down the original.

Watched this the other night. It was way to nice and slick and it totally missed the point of the original. Dumbed down and targeted for the Hostel and Saw crowd especially the fucking stupid last scene. How in the fuck does a microwave work with the door open? I did sit down with an open mind like I do with most remakes but the more this flick went on the more annoyed I got with it. In its defence there were a couple of nicely framed/staged shots that looked dope.

...and yeh NO PISS SCENES!
