vampire history
Any suggestions for books on the history of vampires? i did a search, but all i came up with was the huge book of vampires with a candleabra on the cover but whose name noone could recall. Sounded great, but i could not find anything like it on Amazon. The one book that sounds good on Amazon was called Vampires and Vampirism, but i'd like to get a couple recs from ya'll first. Thanks.

The Vampire Encyclopedia by David J. Skal has some good stuff.

I will admit that I've never actually read any of his stuff, but based on his commentary/features on Universal's Dracula...he seems like the most pompous, self-absorbed, holier-than-thou jackass I've ever seen.
