Need a Change - Suggestions?

Ok, so here's the deal: I've been listening to the same stuff for way too long now, and I'm started to get bored. I am in desperate need of some different music, and would love some suggestions.

Here's some ideas:

- Nothing too heavy. I can stomach metal to a certain degree, but I prefer stuff that actually has a tune, haha. None of this death metal dreck for me thanks.

- Kind of getting into some indie-ish stuff: Don't know a whole lot of their stuff, but I've been starting to get into some Modest Mouse and Flaming Lips lately...cool shit.

- Strong vocals are big for me. No instrumental bands, nor anyone who spends most of the song screaming (though I don't mind some degree of screaming, as long as it's balanced out with actual singing: Atreyu and Red Jumpsuit Apparatus come to mind)

- Just for a point of reference, here are some bands/artists I've been into for the last little while: Coheed & Cambria, Bad Religion, Sister Hazel, Leonard Cohen, Ok Go, Tapes 'n Tapes, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus.

Really, I'm up for just about anything at this point.

Posher: I've got your suggestions downloading as we speak - will get back to you on those this evening :)

PALACE BROTHERS - Days In The Wake

One of my favorite albums ever. A friend turned me onto it awhile back so I'll pass the favor onto you. Some really powerful tunes on it. Kinda indie/alt country deal.

ROKY ERICKSON - I Think Of Demons

This rules. Bloody Hammer and Night Of The Vampire are nothing short of amazing. You might remember his tune Burn The Flame from Return Of The Living Dead.

The Mountain Goats are one of my favorite bands, kind of Indie folk mixed with soft rock. Let me know what you think.

Days in the wake is good but not Will Oldhams best work.

I was actually given this albun by a girl after her dad died, it was his and she couldn't listen to it. Thats understandable.

I would suggest you try listening to Some Frank Black and the Catholics, they have many classic albums waiting to be discovered.

And if you do like the Palace album try listening to Smog ( Bill Calahan).

With the indie stuff you seem to like I can highly recomend Built to Spill and Pavement....
