DVD Box Art You Hate

What dvd box art do you hate the most? I'm getting sick of the between the legs shots they continue to use (National Lampoon is becoming one of the worst offenders).

Well they are meant to make the customer pick up the DVD, with or without prior knowledge about the flick inside. Doing their job quite nicely, doncha think?

I have a particular aversion to those Dimension Extreme labels they had out from late 2007 to late 2008. The box arts were grossly misleading, and the flicks inside were steaming piles of turd. (Anyone who has seen Automaton Transfusion should know this)

It has taught me one valuable lesson - no more blind buys.

the style i hate was huge in the actio thrillers of the 80's

it would have 2 guys faces (usually one white, one black) with a gun in between (the bigger star would be slightly larger (slightly in front)

sometimes a girl much further back.

there has to be a hundred of them at least

I think Lethal Weapon was the one which started that trend.

Pretty much all of the covers from every mid-90's Scream ripoff. It basically amounted to any given number of Dawson's Creek, Party of Five, or whatever other "pretty person" they could find and lining up all of their stupid faces up onto the cover, sometimes leaving the colors natural or sometimes using a colored hue over all of them.

Scream series, I know what you did last summer, H20, Phantoms, Disturbing Behavior...all of those.

Those Revenge Of The Nerds covers are awful, glad they stuck to the original poster art over here.

The covers I hate lately are when they don't use the original are and instead plaster some star whose become bigger since the film was released. Basically trying to cash in on the popularity of that pariticular star. Some of these actors are seriously in the film for 5 mins haha. I dig a lot of trashy 80s stuff and a lot of the time these are the only editions on DVD. I mainly stick to VHS for a lot of them.

For sure, I picked up Spirited Killer because it said "starring Tony Jaa" on it. He was in it for less than 5 mins.

I tend to dislike the ones where they just have the cast sprawled out on the box, and there doesn't seem to have been much effort put into it. Especially those that put the biggest star but sometimes smallest character rights at the front.

Another I hated was this.

The story is about a bull shark. THAT IS NOT A BULL SHARK! And the funny thing was, they had the shark pretty accurate in the actual film. The only reason they put that on is because it looks scarier.

As for the lampoons, the only lampoon films for me are the ones with the Griswalds!
