i saw an episode of one of those 'true ghost stories' that had bsically this story - the 'tv reenactments looked cheesy and i have to say the scenes in the film looked about the same - so i'll give it a pass

I love me a good ghost story. It kind of reminds me of a scarier version of The Others. And I also remember watching something with almost the same story line on a tv show, with the double doors and everything. They could have easily found a scarier story, but this one still looks good enough to rent.
