A Very Terrible & Sad Accident just happened today at our Apartment Building!

I have been already quite shocked about the whole terrorist attacks in Mumbai but I didn't know that there's been another shocking & sad news are waiting for me at home. After coming back to home from office I just heard about it from my mother...A maid of about only 8 to 10 years of age (a little girl) just accidentally fall from the roof of our 6 floored apartment building today at the noon! Severely injured first & then later died at a nearby clinic!
Keeping 1 or 2 maids for the household works is a common practice/scenario in our countries...specially at the cities. Cause people (specially upper middle class & upper class) here are so much busy to keep a luxury & lazy life at their homes that they don't even like to drink a glass of plain water without the assistance of their maids!
Anyways, in our apartment building there's a family living in the 3rd floor where the husband is the owner of a garment factory and has a beautiful fashionable wife with two sweet little children (a boy & a girl). To provide the household assistance to their children & sometimes 'work' as an alternative playmate with them in different kinda games, the couple brought 2 or 3 maids some months ago to their apartment. All those maids were around 8 to 13/14 years of old aged little girls. The most younger one was little bit 'different'..she was kinda free willy type & used to get upset quite frequently with her duties & with other maids. The other maids & some security guards of the apartment thinks that she was kinda crazy type..probably somewhat mentally breakdown child. I have came to know about this stuff from my parents today.
So today when they went to the roof to dry the cloths of their master & also of their own under the sunlight..then on some point of her daily arguments with the other maids she got very angry on them and tried to teach them some lesson..so she somehow managed to came down on a sunshade of a window! Then others got scared & told her to grab their hands as they tried to pull her up from there. Moreover, their were some construction workers in a nearby abandoned house who then just saw them & started shouting to hold up there until they get here & reported the guards & make a rescue effort. But the little girl couldn't able to understand the whole situation that she probably unconsciously created or probably had no idea about the depth of her danger ...so when one of the other girls tried to grab her shoulder, she just tried to bite her hand but failed and fall from their to the open balcony of the west side apartment of 2nd floor.
The whole incident took place at the western side of the roof...just besides my room .....as I may have told here earlier sometimes back that I live alone in a roof top room of our apartment, my parents & my elder brother & his family lives at the 6th floor.

R.I.P the little girl.

Sad story, sad also that a girl of that age is a maid and not getting an education.

Not as sad as the Bangladesh cricket team though. Sorry I don't mean to make lite of the situation... It's just all sad.

I think the maids get some money for their work.

Truly terrible news, would the girl's family know about this or don't they have contact? I mean, does the girl live with her employers or family?

All I'm saying is if my employer wanted to be called "master" I swear to god he would not even have 24 hours to keep breathing.

MD, you just have such a way with words. Some days, you are my hero. (And no, this doesn't belong on the gay thread.)

Shit, now that sappy song from that movie is going through my head. Didn't mean for THAT to happen.
