Hallowe'en Getups

Anyone dressing up?
Myself, girl, and 2 mates just decided to do it this year, even though it's not greatly the done thing here - we just figured, give it a try for a laugh if nothing more.

So, we've got one (hopeful) frankenstein, one goth/devil/deadgirl (gonna "slit her throat" and ghost her up), one thus far undecided, and then there's me.
See, I just bought some things...kinda THINKING skull kind've paint, a bit TWIZTID, a bit skelaton, I dunno.

I've got
*A bone
*Red
*Black
*glow in the dark/clear
*white.

...I thought maybe skull-ish, bloody/dirty up the bone thing and maybe tecture it with some "flesh" to carry about, also going to be wearing a big black "B" that I ripped off a church a whiles back. Pondering having blood coming out of the eyes.
Thing is...I haven't really done this before.

Any ideas on a skull look (please, no misfits...it's overdone) and how I should apply the paints..etc?

Also - Anyone else doing this?
What are your ideas?

Change of plans...
Bought a few other things, liquid latex, bit more blood...etc.

The girl will be in her long black cloak/dress thing. She's having her throat slit, black eye, and cuts to her face.

Still one Frankenstein - going for the bolts in the neck + sewn together look. The guy in question is tall, looks kinda caveman already, it'll work just fine.

My friend is gonna do the skull thing, and carry my bone. (did you just...laugh?)

I'm gonna go a bit undead I think...pale skin, stripped/infected in places, white collared shirt I'll be dirtying and ripping in places, bulletholes weeping blackish green fliud, maybe a slash, definately a bloody "scraped down" handprint, bites on one arm, and blood covering maybe 2/3 of my mouth smeared down my neck. Might use chopped oats/oatmeal/pvc glue mixture for textures in addition to the liquid latex, we will see.

Of course, I've never done this before...

'Nor have any of us carved a pumpkin, but skull bot seems obsessed with it - I'm sure I've got the equipment in the kitched to work that out.

Having a coffee and a couple of drinks out, maybe a movie then come back and do a park bbq with some music, bit more boozing, then back to my place for some horror films.

...I mentioned maybe trying some spirit type shit, not that I believe in it at all, just that if it's gonna work on any night, it seems like a good time to try...heh...but people seem apprehensive.

So seriously, what are you guys doing/dressing as?

Rod, perhaps you can give me some info about liquid latex and spirit gum...are they the same, or should I get both ideally?

I've played around with the LL that I got, and kind've made a "cut" un my hand by allowing it to dry while manipulating it with a cardboard edge, threw in some of the blood mixture, looked alright - the main thing I think to work on is the colour...also, are multiple layers better for wounds, or just built-up singular layer?

Spirit gum is for attaching appliances like bald caps and such. Liquid latex allows you to blend the appliance to your flesh. It is also good for fleshy cuts and rips.

For good zombie/decaying flesh, I like to apply a couple of layers of liquid latex, then a bit of toilet tissue and then several more layers of liquid latex. this allows you to grip the toilet paper (which is now rubberized) and peel it back from the skin. You then color the flesh underneath to suit your purpose (bloody/charred/rotten)

It's how I did these zombie effects last Friday night for my Kids' haunted House at school.
