First of all i don't understand why so many "call" movies but still i liked these two on a amateur level. Which is best?

Because telephones can be very scary things.

Which versions are you talking about? The original 1979 version of When a Stranger Calls with Carol Kane is great, but only because of Kane's performance... the story was lifted from the finale of Black Christmas (1974, not 2006)
Do you mean the American remake of One Missed Call or Takashi Mike's better, but still weak film? Honestly, it would never occur to me to even watch the remakes of either as they are uninspired, studio-style, PG-13 bullshit that caters to people who have no understanding of the source material. If your looking for a comparison between the originals, I gotta go with When a Stranger Calls by a mile just because Carol Kane's eyes are amazing and I could stare into them all day - and when she plays frightened, it makes me scared for her.

The earliest "telephone horror" film I can think of is "Sorry, Wrong Number" with Barbara Stanwyck, though there are probably others.
When I was young there was I Saw What You Did, starring Joan Crawford, and remade (terribly) in 1988. |

I LOVE "When A Stranger Calls" the 2006 version. Never saw the original but I bet its just as good especially since it has Carol Kane in it.

Probably should see the original. Kind of makes you realise how shit the remake is.
