Bit of sad news for Mothman, Gorephobia, Angra...
UK, July 28, 2008 - Tony Jaa has apparently gone AWOL from the set of Ong-bak 2.
According to Variety, the producer of the martial arts sequel held a press conference on Friday and told reporters the Siamese actor - who is starring and making his directing debut on the film - had been missing since June. The film was running behind schedule and over budget, and according to Jaa's family, the kick-boxing sensation had been suffering from stress and gone to meditate in the jungle. The film generated serious buzz after footage was shown at Cannes this year, and Prachya Pinkaew - who directed the first Ong-bak - may be bought in to edit the footage and direct any additional scenes to ensure the film can be released. He said "Jaa has little experience directing. He's spent nearly $7.8 million. The film is almost finished, so I'll try to see what I can do with the footage that he's shot." Well...let's just hope for the best!
