Kids, don't be stupid 2.0

So this 24 hour period has been exceedingly hard on my head. Last night my friend calls and says he's going to commit suicide. He overdosed on tylenol and was completely delirious and was cutting himself in the shape of satanic symbols and scaring the hell out of me. So I raced over there to help him, in the middle of nowhere. His friend got to him before I did, and she was taking him to a hospital, but then she parked in a Publix parking lot. I was trying to find her car, when suddenly she starts going into labor. A pregnant 18 year old going into labor in a deserted parking lot with a delirious and confused 20 year old who can't do a thing to help her. I try frantically to find this place but his directions were totally off, naturally since he was completely gone. Finally an ambulance came for her and took her to the hospital, and the police took Aaron to a hospital as well. Life is fucked up like that I guess :( I never even got to help them.

The following morning, mom comes in to tell me its time to take Uno (cat) to be put to sleep. Normally i'd be kinda sad but ok, but this cat is my age. We got her a week after I was born. She's always been in my life, every single day. And today was the last time =/. Not as serious as suicide, but losing an animal is so tough because they're the only things in the world that you can trust to not stab you in the back or use you. RIP Uno

Thanks

I think they're fine. At the moment it's worse seeing my mom get out of the car with a bag full of cat.

Sorry to read about this. I have had an "interesting" week here, full of things to deal with, not at all like the things you were describing but interesting in their own special way. And it occurred to me, I think on Wednesday, that we (people, I mean) seek comfortable situations because interacting with the world can often be harsh...we sort of want to put ourselves in a place that is separate from all that. But so many of the profound, meaningful experiences happen when we go outside that comfort zone and see things, interact with all that stuff outside.

Sounds like you had a lot of stuff to work with there. Hopefully you're feeling better.

I'm very sorry to hear this Posher. Will Aaron be OK? Did he get help in time? How's your other friend and her baby?

I'm really sorry about Uno. I know exactly how you feel.

Everyone in the situation is fine except Uno. All human life continues as usual on my end.

sorry about your cat. in the last 2 years i have lost a dog and 2 pet rats, and they all hurt. (especially my rat, that is the closest i had ever been to an animal)

Glad the baby is fine, childbirth is scary under the best conditions.

As for the tylenol overdose, well, if it wasnt tylenol pm, odds are the worst of it is past, though he might have danaged his stomach lining and liver. the saddest part of suicide attempts is that they sometimes have lasting effects, not just scars.
