*ahem*
I've posted before about Bizarro fiction, and perhaps overposted about my literary endeavors (my apologies for this), but I cannot stress strongly enough that Bizarro is an intriguing genre for those who are seeking innovative, edgy and fun literature of the future. On July 10th at 7 pm central, HDC members in the Chicago area will get a chance to see a little bit of what this new horror and sci fi offshoot is all about and meet four of its authors, three established writers and one up and coming handsome, devil may care Young Turk who treads the path of the iconoclastic street preacher alone. No man can defeat him...no woman can tame him! Sorry, went a little overboard there. It's me. I'll be at Quimby' s bookstore in Wicker Park on July 10th with Bizarro authors Eckhard Gerdes, D. Harlan Wilson and David Agranoff. You can hear an excerpt from my upcoming novel Murderland part 1: H8, pick up a signed copy if I have my box of sample copies back from publisher and get to see some of what I hope might be the future of literature. Think Vonnegut plus H.G Lewis. Think Doctor Seuss meets the Marquis De Sade on acid. Think what you wanna think and ignore all the nebulous pitches used to describe something that should be experienced first hand. I hope to see some of you there.

Always interested in hearing about things involving HDC members in good standing- no such thing as overposting!
If I was in Chicago I'd be there for sure. Wish I could make it! Maybe they'll send you on a book tour and you'll read at Powell's in Portland... Okay- maybe NEXT book...lol... |

A lot of Bizarro stuff goes down in the Northwest. I think there was a thing in Seattle awhile ago.

Vonnegut + H.G Lewis! Sounds like something I'd dig a bunch.
I'd love to make it over there but can't make it. Hope it goes well dude! |

Thanks! You should check out www.eraserheadpress.com or www.rawdogscreaming.com to see the books. You might dig John Edward Lawson or Jordan Krall.
