PG-13 horror movies
who else finds pg-13 horror movies to be fraudulent. i'm sure there are some cases where a movie can be okay but any time a true horror movie is censored down and geared towards such a broad audience i think it takes away from the authenticity of it. generalizing isn't always a good thing but can anybody come up with examples of a good one? (modern terms not black and white classics)

Poltergeist.
Rated R originally, they appealed and it was re-rated PG. |

i always try to give poltergeist a clean slate and i never can get myself to like it. at least i attempt though. i don't know why either.
valid point. it definitely is one of the exceptions to the rule. ironic how it was rated r initially. |

picnic at hanging rock is rated PG and while it's not all-out "horror," it's certainly one of the most terrifying movies i've ever seen. maybe not at first, it really gets under your skin and stays there.

poltergeist is known for being a classic horror movie. personally most horror movies that i find worthy tend to be rated r. not necessarily but for the most part. the fact that it was initially rated r is ironic because it is one of the classics and many might assume it's rated r when it isn't.
