Clowns?

Avenger gave me this idea...

What movie clown freaked you out the most?

I'm trying to remember the name of the movie in which a little girl died and her favorite clown doll was supposed to be buried with her, but the guy that owned the funeral parlor took it and gave it to his little girl...It was possessed or just evil and it kept saying something weird...I Know the name of the movie, I just can't think of it and now it's bugging the hell out of me...I can't remember what the doll was saying either...Any help?:)

I'm not sure what film you're talking about Bloodrayne. I keep thinking about that Twilight Zone episode with Telly Savalas, but I know that's not it. Maybe it will come to me.

As for clowns that freaked me out...Pee Wee's Big Adventure. That freakin' clown was evil. Also, Clownhouse used to scare the crap out of me too.

I'm sorry I don't know the answer to your question either, but it got me thinking. Why is it that clowns are so so damned scary, or at least portrayed as such? After all aren't they supposed to comical?

Maybe to little kids, those clowns seem huge, with those giant clothes and humongous feet...The kids are forced to "Go up to the clown, honey"...and have to look up into that big, skull-white face, with huge eyes and enormous red mouth...Hmmm, I'm not really sure why they'd be scared, but it seems some are and it's quite apparent that many carry that experience/fear with them into adulthood...then they make movies about them...Stephen King is terrified of clowns...LOL

I think that's precisely why. When you take something that's supposed to make kids laugh, then turn it on its head and make it evil, it becomes scary.

Well, it's just a formula. It depends upon who's hands it is in as to whether or not it will suck. Remember Dolls? That was a good one.

I don't remember any talking clown dolls in Clownhouse, but maybe there's another film by that name. The one I'm talking about is an older Victor Salva film. It involves asylum escapees who kill some clowns, borrow their outfits, and terrorize some kids trapped in a house with them.

DEFINITELY not the same movie...But, I do think the title has the word "house" in it...or maybe "clown"...Damn, this sucks
