W.o.w

haven't been on in a few weeks, not that anyone would notice (boo hoo). the reason for this is total submersion in world of warcraft. has anyone else here lost at least 2 weeks of their life to this evil genius and if so is it possible to get them back? it's the crack cocaine of pc games.

I played it for a while. Got my level up to high 40's, and realised it was taking way too much time :)

I found it was one of those games that you just couldn't play for a while here and there - you had to spend quite long chunks of uninterrupted time - and this just got moreso the higher the level you got to.

I have a friend who was in University and he ended up dropping out because he missed so many classes and seminars. Apparently he was too busy playing burning crusades. Ever since that happened I urge the people I know who play WOW, not to.

Why bother getting an education or a job, when you're already level 60 in World of Warcraft. Hmm?

Look on the bright side, they clearly have an addictive personality. At least it is wow and not cocaine or heroine. It may screw up their life, but at least it wont get them killed or a family member abducted.

Au contraire my northern friend.

RENO, Nev., July 16 (UPI) -- Reno, Nev., authorities say addictions to the Internet and Web-based video games led a couple to neglect the basic needs of their young children.

Authorities said Michael and Iana Straw, who pleaded guilty to two counts of child neglect, nearly starved their 11-month-old daughter and 2-year-old son to death because all of their time was spent on the Internet and playing the online version of fantasy role-playing game "Dungeons & Dragons," the Reno Gazette-Journal reported Monday.

Police said both children were on the verge of death when they were found by social workers during a visit to the home prompted by a neighbor's complaint of constant crying coming from the home. The infant girl was unable to lift her head or sit up due to a lack of muscle development. The 2-year-old boy was so stunted in muscle development that he had trouble walking.

Jesus christ.... the worst i ever did was eat a can of biscuits for dinner because it was the only thing i had in the house that would not take more than 30 seconds at a atime away from counter-strike.

And i was single at the time and my roommate was at his girlfriends for the weekend, and I had 0 responsibilities at the time.
