The Lost Boys 2: The Tribe

Fox were gonna make the sequel to the 1987 cult smash hit sometime back...but now its Warner who has picked it up.

P.J Pesce, a filmmaker familiar with the vampire terrain having tackled Dimension’s From Dusk Till Dawn 3, is attached to direct. His other credits include Sniper 3 & The Desperate Trail.

Joel Schumacher, of course, directed the classic original.

Shooting begins from June 11 and goes till July 13 non-stop in parts of Canada, including Vancouver. It will be a direct-to-DVD release by Warner, sometime during fall next year, among many others which Warner is planning, including Beetlejuice 2 too.

None of the original cast are returning (although Corey Feldman was supposedly returning, but that rumor has been quashed) and it will be an all-new star-cast.

Philip B. Goldfine produces, and Hans Rodionoff is the writer.

I have my doubts too. Dunno what sort of angle they are gonna pick off from the first movie and start it off.

Maybe it ll be a completely fresh start, since they are going for new characters. Who knows?

It cant beat the original, thats for sure.

What the hell is the point?? I'm with Angra. I don't see this even being worth the price of rental. But I will try to keep an open mind. :D Loved the original though.
Beetlejuice 2.....are these people high? :p

I'll bet the entire cast's gonna be under 22 and look a little like this.

Actually, that TV series was WAY cooler than what this is gonna be.;)

I dunno who at Warner thought of this direct-to-disc sequel movies...but I can pretty much sum up by saying Warner is going to incur some huge losses in this area.

Apparently they have wrapped up The Dukes of Hazzard II and have released it as the first direct-to-disc feature from Warner Premiere (yes thats what the production arm is called) sometime in March this year.

And of course, the rest will follow. They have 9 more projects lined up, including Lost Boys 2 and Beetlejuice 2.

Apparently this has started since sales boomed from the American Pie direct-to-disc sequels, Band Camp and Naked Mile.

Read this...

"Warner will release Return to House on Haunted Hill, a second installment of the studio’s 1999 theatrical, later this year. The cast hasn’t been solidified, but Hill theatrical producer Joel Silver is expected to contribute to the DVD movie’s production.

The studio’s Warner Premiere division, supervised by VP Diane Nelson, is handling production on Dukes and Haunted Hill and eventually hopes to release 10 to 15 animated and live-action made-for-DVD titles a year."

Say what?

Never seen the Dukes.

And i have no problem with a House On Haunted Hill sequal, coz i wasn't a huge fan of the last one. But i liked the idea. So i got my hopes up for that one. :)
