Damn Vista!

So I just bought a new computer and of course it comes with Windows new op. system Vista. Well, today I realize that my Sony Handycam (purchased only 10 months ago) is not compatible with Vista.

So who knows what I need to do? Is there a program or a piece of software I can get to make the two compatible? or do I have to get a brand new camera already if I wanna be able to load the video on to my computer?

I could install XP, but that would defeat the purpose of buying a new computer in the first place. Vista is too new and a lot of stuff is not compatible with it yet, but being that the camera is very new too, I can only assume it has the ability to be compatible in the near future. If there aren't any patches that anyone knows of for this yet, I'll just have to wait a while, but it is something that I'd be surprised if Vista isn't equipped to handle. (Backwards compatability.)

i will ask around but em certain that vista is not compatible..
check on the package of ure cam..not with win/op.
ummmm i think there are patches avail but ..in order for them to work you need to upgrade on something else..uncertain at that however.

How do you connect it to your computer (ie what cable/interface)? And what software do you use to transfer your video to your PC?

Contact the company who made your camera and ask them when they are releasing Vista-compatible drivers. This is the exact reason I'm going to wait a couple months before buying a new computer.
