New "Grindhouse" trailer.

I guess this is the longer, official version. This is gonna be the definition of "dope".

knowing these guys, I'll bet the release an R rated version for the major theater chains (which simply won't run NC-17) and an unrated version for the art houses simultaneously.

It's what I'd do. You'd actually get people to pay to see both versions. Double the income.

Have you guys read about the new "hard R" rating to rate movies like this (and I guess Saw/Hostel pushes it) harsher without being the profit killing NC-17? Parents are complaining that they need more help deciding which rated R films they should allow their teens to view as the R rating is too broad. Grindhouse would earn that for sure. There are a few good art theaters in Ann Arbor so I MAY be able to catch the NC-17 if they do what Rod said.

Yea. Makes sense to split up the R movies. I mean, an R movie like The Matrix is perfectly OK (IMO) for young teens to check out....where Saw, Hostel, TCM, Saving Private Ryan, The Passion, etc., are maybe not.

Grindhouse Review - from Ain't it Cool News

"It’s a taquito buffet that you puke up after getting hit with a motorcycle, and it turns into a bikini chick that blows you and kills your boss with a hammer."
-Neil Cumpston, aintitcool.com

This is one of the funniest reviews I've ever read. Completely over-the-top...I just hope the movie can compare.:D I'm maybe a little too excited about this one.

Read the whole thing here.

The more I see about these flicks, the less enthusiasm I have for GRIND HOUSE. DEATH PROOF looks better to me though. The machine-gun leg just seems silly and dumb...I can suspend my disbelief for awhile, but there are limits...

But I will still be there in the theater with a tub of popcorm on my leg and a too-huge coca-cola in my arm rest...
