Black Xmas Original
I'm dying to see this, I know there's been a thread but i'm ignorant and can't find it.
Someone tell me more about it. Is it really scary? How much/good is the gore? Is there a bunch of unnecessary sex or language and whatnot, how many kills, etc etc.

Don't get your hopes up too high.
Either you really love it, or it isn't your cup of tea. Wasn't really my cup of tea. Slow and raggedy, but the final 20 minutes definately make it worth a watch.

very slow, no gore, very little hapening. It is a great historical document - the genesis of several horror staples - a couple of lovely ideas and a few great images, but it's been done better by its imitators and descendants

I really liked this one.
Starts off with a murder, and then builds the suspense as the bodies pill up and you try to find out who the killer/prank caller is. Not super gory, though there is a little bit. It has a great twist ending. Classic. Margot Kidder (Lois Lane in the Christopher Reeve Superman) is in it and the girl who played Juliet in the Romeo and Juliet movie that I think all of us had to watch in high school English class is the main character. Plus, I love holiday themed horror movies. It gives you an extra excuse to watch them on that holiday each year. |

It's not a very good slasher....slow,boring,bloodless and just plain bad!
I hope the remake is better. |

Bah!!
I spent all last Friday searching for this... Found it 7 quid in HMV It's pants... The acting, especially the main female, is awful... The storyline is, to be polite, predictable, The ending leaves you wanting to commit.... Well..you choose, you or him...? 2.5 out of 10 |
