Omen

Has anyone seen the re-make of Omen?

If so, what are you're thoughts?

lots of people have as mentioned in several other threads.

it wasnt a good remake .. some bad casting, and a waste of the people who were cast perfectly.

there was no way the origional could be improved upon - a dumb choice for a remake.

I think I'd give it the distinction of being the worst horror remake I've ever seen. The original Omen was great, but this one was terrible. There have been many bad remakes, but I personally haven't seen one as bad as this (and hope I never do).

The thing about The Omen remake was that The Omen (1976) still holds strong today. It didn't need jazzing up, it didn't need special effects, it didn't need a higher budget. It didn't need an update.

So when I watched it, I just felt like I was watching the same story by a different director within the same period of time (like the Exorcist prequels). It was a bad use of money, and whoever had the idea was too eager to hold off. "Remakes are hot right now, so we can't wait any longer! Isn't 30 years enough?! No one watches shit from the 70s anymore!"

And don't get me started about how uncreepy the new Damien looked.

Summary:
The Omen (2006) was a premature ejaculation.

Sorry. I don't get alot of time to browse online so I didnt get the chance to check out any other threads.

It seems to be the norm these days now. Re-makes are nothing but crap and a total waste of money for all concerned.

I actually don't think it's a horrible film. Just really, really unnecessary. You won't suffer watching it. It did the original no harm, but did nothing for itself.
