Nail Gun Massacre

I have to admit, as a collecter and a half-ass completist, when I saw this director-signed copy of an 80's low-budget indie film, I had to pick it up. I had already decided it was time to start getting some more signed copies of horror DVDs to further puff out my collections chest. Fullscreen it was, but I cared not, I plunked down some e-money and a few days later it was at my door.

This movie starts off with a gang rape. Not alot of movies venture into that territory. You know the "I-just-hit-play-movie-now-there's-a-crew-of-cackling-construction-workers-carrying-a-woman-to-a-sawdust-pile-for-her-just-inserts" territory? I didn't think so, as I have a feeling not many people are aware of this territory's existance. The movie then turns into a somewhat disjointed pelle-melle of scenes in which our killer (a camo clad, motorcycle helmeted maniac with a nailgun backpack and a serious voice masker/loudspeaker) stumbles upon either: a) members of the jobsite/rape scene, or b) people fucking (ie. people nailing about to get nailed). The heroes of the movie are a doctor and a cop who argue about the deaths at every crime scene, and generally try to feign acting skills. The result of the movie is alot of unintentional comedy scenes, mixed with some absolutely brilliant intentinal one-liners and basicaly a bunch of bloody fun.

I liked this movie alot. It was everything I had expected it to be, although the acting was perhaps worse than I had hoped for, it really made the movie work, with the exception of a couple scenes that ran longer than they should have, in which the actors just repeated their ad-libs. If you can picture redneck zombies budget/acting meets (insert stalked film here) with a nail gun tossed in, that's what you're in for. The soundtrack is very minimal but actually helps make the movie creepier and I can't give enough kudos to the killer's one liners, absolute gold, like Stallone in Cobra gold. Highly reccomended to fans of 80's low-budget indie camp.

I've been contemplating buying this flick for a long time. Based on that, and what I've seen of your movie preferences, we have a decent compatability in movie tastes. I think I'll give it a go if I can find it for $12 or less.

After reading what you have wrote I think i'm going to pick this up, I tried ebay but noone had it under $15. I would like to try and get it for about $10, but to me it sounds like it would be worth the 5 extra bucks, thank you for pointing me towards a good movie (hoefully) :D
