Oh! Uhm, well, that scene at the end with the camera getting closer and closer to the photo on the wall? Well, that's HIM in the photo, and so, he really had been to the hotel before in another life, and got reincarnated...and that wa why he was attracted to the hotel originally, so he could come back and reenact the events.
