Finally

So,I have finally decided what I'm going to do.
Instead of avoiding life and playing on the internet and watching movies,I'm going out into the big bad world again.

I hooked up last week with a grassroots organization that will help teenagers who are 'at risk'.
Bascially we try and show them thru the Arts, that there are other ways to spend their energy.
We have our first meeting next week with people who are in charge of programs that try and help these kids but seem to be losing their battle.

We have some really good passionate, talented people in this group and I have to say,I am surprised at all the great ideas they come up with.
They truly want a better community and realize that we have to start somewhere and why not with kids that are heading into a life filled with prison and drug abuse and lost souls.

I can't wait to see what the leaders of these programs have to say and I can't wait to see what we can offer them.

And here I was about to write off this godforsaken town:)

Bravo! It sounds like a great cause to devote your creative energy to. Make sure to check in here every once in a while, though, anyway! Goodness knows you're needed here too!!!

I think that is a noteworthy quest. You will pop in and tell us stories and anecdotes. I'd like to hear about your progress.

Wow,I wasn't expecting anybody to give me kudos.
I think I'm blushing:D Thanks everyone.

Anyway,here's one update already.
Apparently I need to get some time in to accumulate some "cred"
My one suggestion about changing information on a flyer (a FLYER for gosh sake)
and it was shot down incredibly fast.

So I just don't know how my proposal about the mural project is going to go....and this thing is detailed... *hyperventilate*.

Anyway,I won't be working Alot or anything,
After the big meeting next week...that may change.:)

Glad to hear you've found a way to do some serious good. Too many people live their lives putting obligation over love. It's especially good to be using the arts. This country's losing its heart and soul and art coming from raw and sincere places will do it a lot of good. Good luck.
