do you guys think zombies should be able to use guns?

me and my friend have a dilemma, it would appear that our views differ on whether or not zombies can use guns (day of the dead, and new "land of the dead" spawned this) i say no, and thats why i say day of the dead was definitely the worst in the trilogy. zombies cant use guns, its totally imbalanced with them firing an effin machine gun AND having countless, countless others in the pack of zombies, its not fair, the only thing humans have against zombies is guns, we USED to have the ability to run, but sadly newer movies (28 days later, DAWN remake) stole that away from us too... so i ask you, whats next? zombie vehicles, zombies that can fly? running was bad enough, so i say HELL NO! zombies can't use guns!

Bub sould be able to use a gun. Bub's ability to use a gun was symbolic of hope. Frankenstien hoped that he could train zombies using memories of their past, and Bub using the gun showed that it was possible. Which shows that there is hope for the human race.

As far as Land of the Dead zombies using guns, I have mixed emotions. rom what I have read, the zombies have begun to evolve, and become more inteligent. This makes weaponry the natural progression. However, the idea of a zombie with a machine gun makes me chuckle....so I dunno.

But Bub most certanly needs his gun:)

look, zombie movies are like a game, where each race gets different advantages, zombies have numbers and we have guns... give one to the other and it throws EVERYTHING out of whack

Zombies shouldnt have guns, Bub was the exception scince he was in the army n all and benn worked on by Frankenstien.

Zombie hordes have never been fair... I don't think guns will make much of a difference for them... and although they're smarter in Land of the Dead... I think they'll still be dumb as dirt...

...aside from bub,the idea of zombies using weapons really pisses me off.bub and his actions were essential to the story but definitley a "one trick pony" for the zombie world.

They should really continue in traditional zombie fashion... dribbling, groaning, eating and falling to bits easily, nothing more, but since Romero is on the case with Land, I think we should attempt to make exceptions to the norm... It's been many years since we began seeing zombie films, and maybe seeing some of Romero's zombies evolve a bit may not be all bad. I do have exceptions though, last years remake with running zombies was way over the top, they shouldn't run, although I did enjoy dotd2k4.

we've already seen bub learn to use a gun, buy either copying what he saw the doc do, or through learning, I'm more inclined to believe in the first theory rather than the latter, as zombie brains would lack learning ability imo in such a short space of time.

However, going back to Romero's Land, I think it's been long enough to see some evolution in their capabilities, so long as it's not overdone and see sniping zombies on rooftops. Basic gun use would be acceptable imo.

If you are going off what the Official Zombie Survival Guide says, then the answer is no. Zombies can't use guns. They are dead and their one and only objective is to obtain food. If Bub was a "real" zombie (By real, I just mean if he was as they describe zombies in that book.) then he wouldn't have been able to use the gun. Instead, he would have just been chomping savagely at the air towards the doctor and any other living being that came near.

While they couldn't "really" talk, the brain craving zombies from the Return of the Living Dead movies are actually closer to what Zombie Survival Guide describes than Bub is.

No ability to think or reason at all. Just the sole goal of eating meat. That's it.

A zombie could not figure out how to shoot a gun, nor would he even attempt or want to. (In my opinion and the Zombie Survival Guide's.)
