Battlestar Galactica
I only ever saw 5-6 episodes of the original, and LOVED them as a child.
Australian network TV is broadcasting the newer miniseries over two nights this friday and saturday, this is my firt chance to watch it. Can somebody tell me if it has ANYTHING to do with the original series? - because it sure doesn't look like it... Also, what's it like? It LOOKS pretty kickass, but is it worth watching?

I would have commented, but i dont know shit about the new show. it looks good enough, but i was a huge fan of the original when i was a wee one, and i have a snotty attitude about non-farcscape scifi shows these days. i blame them for my favorite drama's demise.

I watched the entire mini-series.
I think it was fucking great...very good atmosphere, awesome music, the acting aint bad either. And I think the neo-cylons look damn cool, the fact that they can replicate human bodies for themselves and, well...essentially can't die is very cool. The scenes in space are very nicely done, good sound happening there and brilliant camera angles... The special effects are some of the best I've ever seen. I had no idea until they showed a promo at the end, that this miniseries more or less leads onto the launch of a new ongoing series! Cool shit... Like I said, from what I saw, I loved the original. However, right now, I can't fucking wait to see how the new ongoing series turns out. Is it showing anywhere out there yet??

Hey there....I've been watching this series religiously since it aired. You're right, it totally kicks ass and the f/x are awesome, especially for a t.v. show. Love how the new cylon robots aren't slow anymore. Brings a whole new dimension to the action. You can no longer hide behind something and shoot the hell outta the cylons from behind or run past 'em before they have time to react.
There's some problems I have with it but all in all its probably my favorite new show. Actually, its one of the only shows on t.v. that I will tape so I can watch and rewind and watch and rewind so we don't miss a thing. Also, my wife (God love her) is addicted to this show. How lucky to be married to a sci-fi geek goddess who looks like Natalie Portman! O.K.....problem.... Anyone who watches this show can someone tell me who sent Adama the message at the end of the miniseries that said "There are only 12 cylon copies" ? If they JUST found out that cylons can look human and Baltar is keeping this to himself as much as possible then how is it that Commander Adama has this info?
