but again .. let me stress - i was really comparing films WITHIN the genre ..
I know that, I just expanded the point is all.

Forgive my lack of emoticons, but the little yellow noobs get on my nerves.

The best bit in Audition is where the girl nonchantly tosses one of the guy's feet and it bounces off the window.

Have any of you folks seen Black Christmas ?
its an old Canadian slasher film that actually predated Halloween.
I cant remember if Carpenter ever cited it as an influence or not..

It doesnt stand the test of time very well. It scared the hell out of me when i was a kid but i just watched it for the 1st time in years a few weeks ago and it didnt deliver the groceries quite the way i remembered.
Still and interesting film for historic reasons.
It also had a couple of other names .. Stranger in the House .. or something like that, and another..

I agree with the person that disagreed about the person who said that slasher are "junk food" of horror.

I must say while I love Frankenstein and Dracula, Slashers are pretty much the main attraction to Horror. Most likely 9/10 times when someone thinks Horror they are going to think of a slasher.
Plus slasher movies are a damn good time FUN FUN..
