The Atomic Rites of Godzilla sounds like a blast.

Slightly Off-Topic:
The closest Hammer & Toho came together was to co-produce a giant monster film back in 1976 called Nessie. Too many delays caused the project to be finally shelved in 1979. ![]() http://psychobabble200.blogspot.in/2...tudios_04.html

Hmm, I actually really quite like that idea - barring what's already been said about Godzilla only REALLY working in a Japanese context, it is interesting.
Whilst Hammer brought the abject, gothic qualities back into Horror Cinema, I nonetheless think that a Hammer Godzilla would primarily be a film about human drama and suggestion - hell, you could quite feasibly never even SEE Godzilla; just his footprints, scenes of destruction, his shadow etc. No doubt he'd have some kind of human worshipper/scientist who works REALLY as the primary antagonist. I'd love to see Godzilla rising from the North Norfolk coast, though. Passing the Victorian piers of Great Yarmouth and Cromer and destroying the tacky amusements.

I am so sorry Roshiq, I just realized I made no comment whatsoever on your posters. (That was an oversight on my part.) I love them all & would hate to pick a favorite...
...but, if I had to pick a viewing order, I'd start with the Monster From Hell. ![]()

I don't know... the fangirl in me wants to say that of course they could have done Godzilla, but honestly I'm not sure
![]() I'm thinking that maybe we're just so used to seeing Godzilla in certain settings that we can't imagine it any other way, but that doesn't nescesarily mean that it wouldn't work. There's that old Danish monster movie, Reptilicus... very weird movie, but even though it's definitely the only one of it's kind (Danish monster, sci-fi or horror movies are a rarity!), it wasn't actually as strange as I thought it would have been to see a giant reptile wrecking my own country... even though it WAS strange ![]() Last edited by Kandarian Demon; 05-23-2014 at 11:28 AM. |

Anyway, glad to at least put some of you to give a thought about this & thanks for the appreciation for those fake posters. ![]() Great poster & I've also kind of think about this too, T! But not only Hulk...An ALL SUPERHERO Team up to save the world from Godzilla's rampage...where Hulk would go first but strangely goes traceless after the very first meeting with G. Then Batman would come up with a plan with a few inputs from Aquaman where he'd send Superman, WW & Thor on a some kind of "Last Hope" mission. Meantime, Iron Man & Captain America would start an investigation & search operation about Whatever happened to Hulk? ![]()

Godzilla films try psychic mediums for control. Clearly, Godzilla is an aquatic creature & clearly Aquaman telepathically influences aquatic life. I wonder where that interaction could go in such a film...

Oh no - they beat us to it!
https://www.mycomicshop.com/search?TID=175901 Apparently, Godzilla spent several issues in the Marvel universe during the late seventies fighting the Fantastic Four, Thor, Iron Man, & even Spiderman. Ugh. ![]()
