The only thing I disagree agree with is the part when you say PETA isn't bad. There are a LOT of animal rights organizations that do great work and prevent animals from getting hurt (if you have a strong stomach watch some of those animal cops shows to see how cruel people can be to animals). I think that PETA has lost sight of the animals and now focuses on nothing but furthering their extremist agenda.

What I meant was...they have good intentions, but sometimes not very realistic, and those good intentions are often executed in entirely the wrong way...agreed, too much.

PETA also associates with and funds organizations that are federally classified as terrorist organizations

Weell... I am an animal rights activist with Defenders of the Wildlife. For the most part, as I've said before, my main stand is wolves. Fortunately wolves are predators, so I don't have to beat myself up for eating meat.

I agree with you all, an so do most other animal rights activists, PETA is, for a lack of better insults, a bunch of fuckwits. I mean who in the hell goes around getting their jollies showing children pictures of slaughter houses.

I am not a member of PETA, but sometimes I do agree to what they do (all though not to the point where I would harm anyone, physically or mentally)

I have a leather jacket and shoes and am not a vegan or veggie. I do think there is a difference between eating, say a cow or a sheep and using the whole animals leftovers afterwards, eg skin, than purely breeding an animal purely for its skin - mink farming.

There was a case in Scotland a while back that showed a dead Golden Eagle, which had been poisoned and trapped in a snare - the excuse was, it was vermin. Hope they chocked on it.

I am also against animal experiments:- Beagles or any other dog for that matter (unless in cartoon) do not smoke, if the same experiments where done on people - opening the skull of a monkey and placing electrodes to see what happens to the brain's nervous system, these people would be arrested and sent to the asylum.

Medicine have gone on to leaps and bounds from the victorian era, where body-snatching and live (no anasthestic) operations where carried out, there is simply no excuse why medicine hasn't kept up with the rest of the worlds technology, why should it when the world leaders can spend billions of pounds/dollars on weapons - war is big business.

As I said, I have never committed an act of terrorism, eco or otherwise and would rather use my voice than a gun to get my point across.

I am also a holder of a "green" donor card, which basically means when I die, if a "mad" doctor wants to build a new Frankenstein-type creature, then if he so wishes he can use my body parts in his quest, rather than re-animating dead frogs or mice.

I despise cruelty to animals. That's just one of those things that really makes my blood boil. That said, PETA and organizations of their ilk are going about their agenda in entirely the wrong way. Fanaticism in general is a huge turn off. Not only that, but I believe that PETA is not entirely the protector of animals that they make themselves out to be.
